Atiku, Peter Obi Should Be Arrested For Questioning Tinubu’s Identity – APC National Secretary, Ajibola

Senator Bashiru Ajibola, the National Secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has stated that the presidetial candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and Labour Party, Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi should be charged with treason.

Recall that Obi had during a press conference on Wednesday in Abuja asked Tinubu to reintroduce himself to Nigerians and clarify the issues of his identity.

The LP flagbearer also asked President Tinubu to particularly disclose his real names, state of origin, and where he served when he did the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC).

Reacting to Obi’s press conference in an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Wednesday, Ajibola said Tinubu does not need reintroduction because Nigerians are aware of his credentials.

The former Spokesman of the Senate said Atiku and Obi are suffering from the trauma of their electoral loss because they are serial losers, stressing that they need “psychiatrist evaluation”.

The APC scribe asserted that the former Vice President and the former Governor of Anambra State should be charged with treason for questioning the identity of the President.

But the APC said Nigerians are aware of Tinubu’s credentials, stressing there was no need for a new introduction.

He said: “Obi must know that President Tinubu does not need a re-introduction. He does not have any identity problem, except the one contrived by the Atikus and Peters of our political firmament.

“As for President Tinubu’s academic record at the Chicago State University, the facts are clear and settled except for those political jaundiced by the trauma of electoral defeat.

“I think Atiku and Obi should be charged with treason for questioning the identity of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.”

Every Hamas Member Is a Dead Man – Israel Vows to Wipe Palestinian Group

Israeli Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu has vowed to wipe out Hamas group.
He made the statement in a late night address on Wednesday.
According to him, every Hamas member is a dead man.
According to Jerusalem Post, Netanyahu spoke during a press conference by the newly formed emergency government set up to prosecute the war against Hamas.
The other members of the emergency government are Defense Minister Yoav Gallant, of the Likud Party, and former defense minister Benny Gantz, who heads the National Unity Party.
As the war enters the sixth day, the Israeli emergency government has vowed to wipe Hamas off the face of the earth.
“We are fighting with full force on all fronts. We have gone over to the offensive. Every Hamas member is a dead man,” Netanyahu said.
The Israeli Prime Minister likened Hamas to the Islamic State, ISIS, noting that the Palestinian militants burned people alive, raped victims and shot babies in the head when they invaded Southern Israel on Saturday.

The attack, described as the most deadly in decades, prompted retaliatory air strikes on Palestinian settlements in Gaza by the Israeli forces.
The Israeli government declared war after the attack, with the Israel Defense Forces, IDF, embarking on Operation Swords of Iron.
“We saw bound children shot in the head, people burned while they were still alive and young people who were raped.

“Hamas is ISIS and we will destroy it like the world destroyed ISIS,” Netanyahu added.
Defense Minister Gallant vowed that Hamas will be “obliterated”.
“Hamas — the Islamic State of Gaza — will be wiped from the face of the earth. It will not continue to exist.

“There will be no situation in which Israeli children are murdered and we all go about our business,” Gallant said.
He described the Hamas onslaught on Southern Israel as “the worst terror attack the world has ever seen”.

“Thousands of terrorists stormed in to destroy, murder, loot and slaughter,” he said, noting that, even as a soldier who has witnessed many tough situations “I never saw anything like this”.

Meanwhile, Al Jazeera, in an update on the war on Thursday morning, reported that the Palestinian health ministry said the death toll in Gaza had risen to 1,200.
About 5,600 persons have sustained injuries.
The number of people killed in Israel had also risen to 1,200.
Al Jazeera also quoted the United Nations, UN, as saying that 338,934 Palestinians have been displaced in Gaza as Israel’s devastating bombing raids continue overnight.
A former Human Rights Watch chief, Kenneth Roth, said Israel’s “indiscriminate and disproportionate attack” on Palestinian civilians could constitute “a war crime”.

The Police Force Headquarters in Abuja has taken over investigations into the alleged killing of 2-year-old Ivan Omorhiakogbe, by men of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).

This was disclosed by the Delta State Police Command during a press briefing.

Ivan died on July 13, 2023, after he was hit by a stray bullet allegedly fired by NDLEA operatives during a raid on drug peddlers’ hideouts in Okpanam, Oshimili North Local Government Area of the state.

The bullet also scratched his younger brother, Erhumossele, in one of his eyes.

Omorhiakogbe was rushed to Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Asaba, where he was confirmed dead, but his brother survived.

The boys were at his mother’s shop at a plaza in the locality when the incident happened.

BBC Disregarded Facts In Its Report – Group Slams BBC Over Report on Tinubu’s CSU Certificates

A pro-democracy group, the National Democratic Coalition has knocked the British Broadcasting Corporation over its report on the Chicago State University academic records of President Bola Tinubu.
BBC’s report was published on Wednesday.
According to NADECO, the report was an attempt to perpetuate colonialism in Nigeria.
This was as it observed the BBC was fast losing its ethical and journalism pedigree in its apparent “attempt to launder the image of President Tinubu”, saying it was shocking the British media outfit has chosen to engage in, “this image-laundering project, despite irrefutable evidence pointing to the authenticity of the allegations.”
The Executive Director of the group, in the USA, Lloyd Ukwu, said this in a statement, on Wednesday night.
The BBC Disinformation Team had on Wednesday reported that there was no evidence that the Chicago State University’s academic certificates of President Bola Tinubu submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission for the 2023 presidential election were forged.

But NADECO in the statement said, “In a world where integrity and honesty are increasingly becoming rare commodities, it is our solemn duty to shed light on deceit and manipulation, even when it is executed by influential figures. Today, we stand resolute against the latest reckless display of disinformation by the British Broadcasting Corporation in its apparent hired attempt to launder the tattered image of President Bola Tinubu.

“In recent times, we have witnessed a relentless campaign to salvage the image of President Bola Tinubu, which has been badly tarnished by the CSU certificate forgery saga. The latest effort in this image laundering project comes from none other than the BBC’s Disinformation Team. It is disheartening to see an organisation that has long been trusted by the public engage in such biased and mischievous reporting.

“What astonishes us is not the attempt to whitewash President Tinubu’s image, as he recently hired another team of media aides for this very purpose, but BBC’s motive and consideration for this hatchet job. On one level, what baffles us is the BBC’s blatant disregard for facts that are already in the public domain. The CSU’s registrar, under oath, unequivocally stated that the certificate submitted by Tinubu to INEC was not issued by the University and that it was not legitimate, strongly suggesting forgery. Yet, the BBC has chosen to spin its version of the story to deceive the discerning Nigerian public.

“Again, it is not surprising that Tinubu, recognising the damage to his reputation due to the Chicago State University certificate forgery saga, has recently employed a fresh team of media aides to rehabilitate his public image. On another level, what is truly shocking, however, is the extent to which the BBC has chosen to engage in this image-laundering project, despite irrefutable evidence pointing to the authenticity of the allegations.

“Could it be that what Tinubu’s money cannot buy does not exist or that the old colonial mouthpiece is at work?

“If the CSU’s registrar, under oath, unequivocally affirmed that the certificate submitted by Tinubu to INEC is not from their institution, signifying the unequivocal act of forgery, so what would the BBC call that? Astonishingly, the BBC chose to disseminate its version of the story specifically designed to deceive the enlightened Nigerian public.

“Documents obtained from CSU further reveal a litany of irregularities and paint a clear picture of deception:

“Mr Bola Tinubu did not meet the required admission criteria and was asked to retake exams.

“His admission document listed his gender as female.

“He used another individual’s female social security number.

“The document he submitted claims to be from a school established in 1970, whereas the school was founded in 1974.”
It added, “What is truly confounding and perplexes NADECO USA is the BBC’s apparent failure to fact-check these glaring discrepancies before presenting its report to the Nigerian people, thus knowingly and maliciously doing a disservice to journalism and to the very people they are meant to inform.

“Furthermore, the BBC has shown a marked reluctance to investigate whether Tinubu was involved in a drug case in the United States or whether he manipulated the general elections in Nigeria with his cohorts. While the world expects impartial, investigative journalism from the BBC, it appears that they are more inclined to twist what is already known. The BBC’s selective reporting further tarnishes its already fading credibility and the trust of the Nigerian people who already know the truth.

“The British Broadcasting Corporation is gradually losing relevance and trust among the Nigerian people and the world at large who seek truth and integrity in reporting. The suffering Nigerian masses cannot tolerate the nuisances of a British colonial mouthpiece or the colonial arrogance displayed in the form of such unverified and misleading stories.

“NADECO USA strongly condemns the BBC’s media report, which can only be characterised as a reckless disregard for the truth and a disservice to the Nigerian masses. We call on the BBC to cease such practices henceforth.”

Dismiss Atiku’s Appeal, It Lacks Merit – Tinubu Tells Supreme Court

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has asked the Supreme Court to dismiss the appeal filed by Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), because it lacks merit.

Tinubu, who was the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2023 election, said this in a response filed by his lawyers on Saturday to Atiku’s notice of appeal.

Recall that the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal, in its judgment on September 6, dismissed the petition filed by Atiku challenging the outcome of the February 25 presidential election.

According to the tribunal, the former Vice President failed to prove all the averments in his petition, stressing that his petitions lacked merit and was dismissed.

However, Atiku filed 35 grounds notice of appeal before the Supreme Court on September 18 and asked the apex court to set aside the entire findings and conclusions of the tribunal.

In the appeal, the PDP candidate submitted that the tribunal’s findings were done with “grave errors and gross misrepresentation”, which resulted in a miscarriage of justice.

In response to the appeal filed by Atiku, President Tinubu stated that the presidential election petition tribunal was correct in arriving at its verdict and affirming his election.

The president insisted that the appellants failed to prove all their allegations and submissions at the tribunal, adding that they have demonstrated any reason why the apex court should disturb any of the findings of the lower court.

Tinubu, however, described the appeal filed by the PDP candidate as “abusive in nature” and prayed for its dismissal.

He said: “Neither the appellants have demonstrated any reason why this honourable court should disturb any of the findings of the lower court, which, with all modesty, are rooted in law and a perfect demonstration of scholarship.

“We accordingly urge this honourable court to affirm the decision of the lower court, while dismissing this appeal in its entirety, as same is lacking in merit and bona fide.

“Everything put together or summarized, this appeal is a further demonstration of the abusive nature to which the appellants have subjected court processes. The supreme court is urged to dismiss it.

Obasanjo Reveals Solutions To Africa’s Problems

Obasanjo

Olusegun Obasanjo

Ex-Nigerian President, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, has spoken about how Africa can resolve its numerous challenges.

According to him, the continent’s problems are not too big to solve once homegrown solutions are adopted to confront Africa’s problems.

The former president said this on Wednesday while addressing a delegation of students and youths across African countries at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library (OOPL), Abeokuta, Ogun state.

Obasanjo said leaders of the content should consider the various peculiar natures of the people to draw local solutions to the problem.

He said, “It is a great lesson for us to know that yes, whatever may be our problem – political, economic, social in Africa, we can solve them if we go about seeking solutions rightly.

“What is very important and which I want you to take very, very seriously is that what we were able to achieve in Tigray, the peace that we were able to achieve in Tigray between tplf and the federal government of Ethiopia is what you and I will regard as finding African solution to African problem. and this is what our leaders have been clamouring for, even from independence in the early 1960s.

“No problem in Africa is too great for us to solve where there may be problem of peace, problem of insecurity, problem of youths unemployment, youths lack of empowerment, youths lack of acquisition of skills, youths frustration and of course general bad governance.”

The delegation which included student leaders from Ethiopia and the Tigray Region was led by the President of the All-Africa Students Union (AASU), Osisiogu Osikenyi.

The students were on a “thank you” visit to Obasanjo for facilitating the Permanent cessation of hostilities agreement between the government of the Federal Republic of Ethiopia and the Tigray Peoples’ Liberation Front (TPLF) in Pretoria last year.

In his remarks, the President of the Ethiopian Higher Education Institutions Students Union (EHEISU), Oli Bedane Wako, said the African students’ leaders paid a thank-you visit to Obasanjo over the role he played in the historic signing of the Pretoria peace agreement among the Federal Republic of Ethiopia and Tigray Liberation Fronts.

According to him, the deadliest war in the Tigray region of Ethiopia has brought immense tragedy, claiming the lives of countless young individuals and leaving behind widespread destruction and trauma.

He, however, noted the move initiated by Obasanjo has saved countless lives and provided a foundation upon which we can rebuild the war-torn region of Tigray.

Nigerians Are Now Seen As Certificate Forgers, Identity Thieves – Peter Obi

The Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate in the 2023 election, Peter Obi has lamented the negative effects of the controversy surrounding President Bola Tinubu’s academic records.
According to him, Nigerians are now being seen as certificate forgers.
This is as he stressed that the country’s reputation is at stake as a result of the controversy.
Recall that the 2023 presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, had accused Tinubu of forging the Chicago State University (CSU) certificate submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Speaking at the World Press Conference in Abuja on Wednesday, Obi said Nigerians are now seen all over the world as fraudsters, certificate forgers and identity thieves because of what Tinubu has allegedly done.
Obi also called on the President to tell the nation his true name, the school he attended, where he served and the certificate he obtained from CSU.
The former Governor of Anambra advised President Tinubu to provide Nigerians and the entire world with the necessary information about him once and now.
He said: “Mr Tinubu should tell the nation his true name, the school he attended, where he served and the certificate he obtained. He must do this task once and now. It is a matter of morality, honour, and integrity. Tinubu needs to come clean.

“The world now sees every Nigerian as a fraudster, certificate forger and identity thief because of what Bola Ahmed Tinubu did at Chicago State University.

“Even though all you need to run for president are primary and secondary school attendance, I personally attached my University degree certificates, plus my NYSC. You can go and verify.

“I attended the University of Nigeria, Nsukka. Soludo, Emefiele, the present Vice Chancellor and the two DVCs were all my schoolmates. You can go and verify.

“Bola Tinubu should reintroduce himself to the nation he governs, and tell the nation who he is, where he is from, where he went to school, and his real name. It’s a simple task that will take only a few minutes. And he must perform this task immediately.

The announcement was made on Wednesday.

Rooney agreed a three-and-a-half-year contract to replace John Eustace at St Andrew’s after leaving Major League Soccer side DC United last week.

Read club statement below:

Birmingham City Football Club is delighted to announce the appointment of Wayne Rooney as Manager, agreeing terms on a three-and-a-half-year contract.

He starts with immediate effect having recently left his position as Head Coach of Major League Soccer side D.C. United.

Rooney is supported by his former England international teammate Ashley Cole, the current England Under-21s assistant coach, John O’Shea, the assistant coach of the Republic of Ireland men’s national team and Carl Robinson and Pete Shuttleworth who both assisted Rooney at DC United. Shuttleworth was also part of his coaching team at Derby County.

Ashley Cole and John O’Shea will retain their coaching roles with their respective national sides.

Maik Taylor will remain at the Club as Goalkeeper Coach.

The 37-year-old began his full-time managerial journey with Derby County in January 2021. The former England striker steered the Rams to safety in the Sky Bet Championship having taken charge with the club in the relegation zone.

Battling a 21-point deduction in his first full season in charge, Rooney assembled, guided, and galvanised a group of players, primarily from the Academy, to reach an impressive 55 points whilst simultaneously combating multiple club-related issues. He resigned from his position in June 2022, taking the reins in D.C. three weeks later.

Birmingham City Co-Owner and Chairman of the Board, Tom Wagner said: “Wayne is a born winner. We believe, with the support of his coaching staff, the Club, and our supporters, he will take Blues forward on the next stage of our journey. His playing philosophy will help to realise the ambitions we have set for Birmingham City.

“Wayne has been preparing for an opportunity like this since he embarked on his coaching education whilst still a player at Manchester United. He and his staff have the full support of the Board and everyone at the Football Club.”

Birmingham City Chief Executive Officer, Garry Cook, said: “We are incredibly excited by Wayne’s arrival. When the opportunity presents itself to appoint a manager who shares your ambition and is both a student and a great of the game, then you act. This is what we have done.

“We are confident that his appointment, supported by his hand-picked coaching staff, will culminate in a young, attack-minded team that will excite our fans. The timing of the appointment will allow Wayne to evaluate the playing staff and work with Craig Gardner on the squad’s recruitment needs ahead of the January and Summer transfer windows. This is a defining moment for the Football Club.”

Rooney commented: “I am absolutely delighted to be joining Birmingham City Football Club at such an exciting time. It is very clear that they have a plan and are committed to realising their ambition for the club. We are fully aligned on what is expected. I have been building my managerial career, putting myself in challenging environments, to get me ready for this opportunity. It’s a project that gives me a sense of purpose and I can’t wait to get started.

“We have some exciting young players in the squad, and some who are still to break through into the First Team, alongside a core of experienced senior professionals. I have a clear way that I want the team to play, and my coaching staff and I will work hard to implement it. We will create a winning culture here with an identity that gets Blues fans on their feet.

“I’ve played at St. Andrew’s and Birmingham City fans were always loud and passionate about their team. It was a really difficult place to come as an opponent and now I get to experience what it is like to have them behind us. My job is to elevate the Club to the next level and I can’t wait to get started. I know what the expectations are and our job is to deliver.”

Welcome to Blues, Wayne!

Mohbad’s Contract With Marlian Music Was Fair – Music Executive, Abisoye

Abisoye ‘Cash ‘N’ Out’, the Nigerian music executive, has made a claim about the late Nigerian rapper Ilerioluwa Olademeji Aloba, aka Mohbad.

He claimed that claimed that the contract Mohbad signed with his former record label, Marlian Music, was “fair”.

Following his controversial death on September 12, 2023, many have condemned the treatment meted on Mohbad by Marlian Music boss Naira Marley and his associates after he left the record label in 2022.

While exiting the record label, Mohbad had, in a letter dated October 25, 2022, and signed by O.M Falade, his lawyer, cited the non-fulfilment of the terms of the contract signed in 2019 when he joined the record label while also accusing the label of refusing to pay him his royalties from monetised intellectual content and advances as mutually agreed.

Speaking in a recent interview with Arise TV, Abisoye claimed that he was privileged to access the contract the late rapper signed, insisting that it was “fair”.

He said it was a joint deal between the record label and the late artist. However, things didn’t go as Mohbad expected.

Abisoye said, “By right, I might not be able to speak about Mohbad’s contract with Marlian Music like that here. But because I’ve seen it before, I would say it was a fair one.

“In his defence, me and him [Mohbad] always talk about that contract. That contract was a joint venture. It means he comes to the table as who ever he is and the label comes to the table and they put two together and they make something which is a beautiful arrangement but some how it didn’t just go the way he thought it would go. And like I said, I won’t be able to speak more on that.”

Tinubu Sets Up Committee To Tackle Flooding, Appoints Yahaya Bello As Chairman

A committee has been set up by President Bola Tinubu to mitigate the impact of the impending flood crisis across the country.

To this effect, he has appointed Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, as the Chairman of the committee and the Deputy Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Senator Akon Eyakenyi, will serve as Vice Chairman.

The president said the committee will produce a road map by harmonising the recent National Economic Council (NEC) report on the flood, the 2022 National Flood Emergency Preparedness and Response Plan, as well as all other national reports on the flood.

The committee is expected to submit its recommendations in seven days.

At an emergency meeting presided over by Vice President Kashim Shettima, President Tinubu gave marching orders to the committee for an action plan on all the reports, saying it was better to be proactive than reactive.

Shettima said: “Based on the submissions by the DG of the Nigeria Hydrological Services Agency, the situation is not that terrible, but to be forewarned is to be forearmed. The submissions by the other relevant stakeholders are equally poignant, and we can’t afford to take chances.

“Though the situation is not as bad as we might think, we need to set up a committee so that the report of the Presidential Committee and the 2022 Federal Executive Council – approved broad preparedness plan should be harmonised and implemented immediately,” the Vice President stated the President’s position.”

Shettima noted that a feasible roadmap would address the flood crisis in Nigeria, adding that responsibilities would be shouldered by the North East Development Commission (NEDC), Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) and the Federal Government.

He stated: “I deliberately invited the NEDC and NDDC so that with whatever resources that NEMA has, they have to be released to the states so that they can start making preparations for any eventuality.

“Based on the Presidential directive, I will meet with the Chief Executives of the NEDC and NDDC for states that are under their coverage. There should be interventions from them. For NEDC, they can take care of Taraba, Bauchi and Adamawa. For NDDC, they can take care of Akwa Ibom, Bayelsa, Delta and Cross River. For states like Ebonyi, Kogi and Benue, we will mobilise from our savings and deploy the same to assist them. We have to share responsibilities and hence the immediate need for the roadmap to be implemented”.

The Chief Executives of the Nigerian Meteorological Agency (NIMET), National Space Research and Development Agency (NASRDA), National Water Resources Institute, National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) and Nigeria Hydrological Services Agency (NIHSA) all made presentations with reactions from Governors of Bauchi, Kogi, Ebonyi and Cross River States. Akwa Ibom and Nasarawa State Governors were represented by their Deputies.

Other members of the committee include the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo; Minister of State for Environment, Kunle Salako; Minister of State for Water Resources and Sanitation, Bello Muhammad Goronyo; Chief Executives of NEMA, NIWA and NiHSA, among others.

The Special Adviser to the President on NEC and Climate Change, Rukaiya El-Rufai, will serve as secretary of the committee.
