Popular Nigerian singer/songwriter, Simi has opened up about how she feels about the X platform and why she responds the way she does.
She made this known on the Zero Conditions Podcast where she discussed her music career.
Simi addressed questions about her reputation for witty, sometimes harsh responses on Twitter.
She explained that she never intended to be “savage,” saying, “I feel like I still am sometimes; maybe it’s because I’m not on Twitter as much as I used to be. I don’t see it as being ‘savage’ because my goal is not to be savage.”.
The singer emphasized that her online personality reflects her real-life demeanor. “That’s how I am in real life, though; I’d say I’m very quick with it. If someone says sorry, I would say sorry for yourself; I’m a joker as well,” Simi shared.
However, Simi noted a shift in her social media engagement, particularly on Twitter. She explained, “Twitter isn’t the way it used to be; it used to be better. I don’t think it’s because people are now awake, though. I feel like Twitter has become a competition for who can be the most toxic or the loudest person and I don’t have fun with it like I used to. Now I hardly go on it.”

This comes barely few weeks after he was presented with a Brit 1 billion streams plaque at his sold-out show at the London Stadium last month.
Receiving his Brit 2 billion streams plaque, Burna Boy revealed that he fought for it.
He said, “Thank you very much. I appreciate you. Ehen, now that’s it. You’ve to fight for your right.”
One of the presenters inferred: “You already have it. You don’t need to fight.”
Burna Boy rebuffed: “No. You know, we have to fight for our rights.”
Spanish football powerhouse, Real Madrid has revealed that Kylian Mbappe will be presented to fans at the Bernabéu on July 16.
The La Liga club also confirmed that Mbappe will wear the No. 9 shirt for Los Blancos.
The France captain will put pen to paper on a five-year contract, after leaving Paris Saint-Germain as a free agent.
This move brings to an end Real’s years-long pursuit of the player.
Madrid fans are expected to pack the 81,000 capacity Bernabéu for Mbappé’s unveiling.
It is expected to be the club’s largest-scale player presentation since the arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo in 2009.
Mbappé and France were eliminated by Spain in the Euro 2024 semi-finals on Tuesday night, with the 25-year-old scoring just one goal in five appearances.
