A Nigerian man has shared why he rejected ₦50,000 appreciation gift after returning ₦2.2 million mistakenly credited to his Opay account.

‎Man Returns ₦2.2 million

According to the Facebook user, the individual reached out to him, appearing confused and stammering.

During the phone call with the individual, he burst into laughter.

‎However, he refunded the money and sent a receipt of the transaction to the individual, whose identity wasn’t disclosed.

‎ Subsequently, he received ₦50,000 from the same individual, but refunded it, emphasizing that he didn’t want to be paid for doing the right thing.

‎ In his now-viral Facebook post, he stated that kindness shouldn’t come with a price tag.

‎”The amount is a big percentage of my monthly salary but because I believe I don’t have to be paid for being kind, and of course for doing what I must do. He called and was appreciating me like I liberate him from going to hell”, The post reads.

‎According to the Facebook user, Fintech accounts are secured, and most of them are insured by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) and the Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation (NDIC.

A nurse at Uwani General Hospital who went viral for highlighting the poor conditions at the facility has been suspended indefinitely and removed from her clinical duties.

The nurse gained attention online after posting a video exposing the hospital’s lack of basic necessities, including water, electricity, and oxygen, which she said made it extremely difficult to manage critical medical situations safely.

Her post sparked national outrage, with many Nigerians demanding urgent government intervention to address the failing infrastructure and ensure the safety of both patients and healthcare workers.

Nurse Speaks Out

In a video released after her suspension, the nurse expressed heartbreak over the punishment, insisting that her intentions were never to bring the government down but to draw attention to the urgent issues at the hospital.

In her words:

“I’m the girl that posted about the hospital at Uwani about the light issues. Sadly, I was given an indefinite suspension. And now I was removed from my clinical duties. Now I want to ask Nigerians: Did they do anything wrong? They never posted their video to bring the government down or to paint them bad. Only did that to bring their attention, which luckily have been attended. I am so broken Nigerians. I didn’t know that my goodness would be punishing me so badly.”

Public Outcry and Calls for Reinstatement

The suspension has sparked strong reactions online, with many calling for the nurse’s immediate reinstatement.
