I Told My Mum I Was Going To D!e – Odumodublvck Recounts Experience After Undergoing Tonsils Surgery

Nigerian rapper Tochukwu Gbubemi Ojogwu, popularly known as Odumodublvck, has opened up about a terrifying health scare that nearly cost him his life during a tonsil surgery.

The artiste revealed that the medical procedure took place around the time he released his hit single “Declan Rice.”

What was meant to be a simple surgery to remove his tonsils reportedly turned into a serious emergency that lasted several hours.

According to the rapper, the operation, which was supposed to take about 30 minutes, unexpectedly stretched into five hours due to complications.

Fortunately, another doctor who was usually far from the hospital happened to be nearby and quickly came to assist, helping to save his life.

After the procedure, Odumodublvck said he struggled with fear and uncertainty, believing he might not survive.

He recalled how he expressed this fear to his 71-year-old mother before eventually recovering.

He said in a viral video: “That’s so crazy because I thought I was going to d!e. That’s so crazy. When I dropped Declan Rice, that’s when I did the surgery. I took out my tonsils. I don’t have tonsils, and when I did the surgery the first time, this is the first time I’m saying this on camera.

“Surgery of 20 minutes or 30 minutes took five hours. The guy that was doing the surgery said that in 12 years of doing that surgery, he has never asked for help. But that day, he asked for help, and the guy he asked was staying one hour away.

“But that day when he called, he was two minutes away at the filling station. He just came in , even the hospital did not know he came in. He came like an angel and went. When the surgery was done, I thought I was actually going to d!e. I was telling my mother that I’m not going to make it.”

Peter Obi Has Better Chances In 2027 Than 2023 – Aisha Yesufu

Prominent social activist Aisha Yesufu has expressed confidence in Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate Peter Obi’s prospects, stating that the 2027 elections offer him a stronger chance than in 2023.

Yesufu made the statement on Friday in Umuahia, Abia State, during an interactive session with newsmen at the Girls’ Summit organised by Protect The Precious Foundation, where she was a guest speaker.

According to Yesufu, many Nigerians who were sceptical about Peter Obi’s message in 2023 have now come to support his vision, giving him more momentum for the 2027 race.

“Peter Obi has more hope in 2027 than there was in 2023. When he started running in 2023, people said only four persons were tweeting for him. Despite the rigging that took place, he still got over six million votes. He won the 2023 election, even without having a single councillor,”
Yesufu stated.

She further emphasised that the growing awareness of Obi’s message had resulted in a larger following for the Labour Party candidate.

“Many didn’t believe in him then, but today, people have seen the truth he stands for. His followership has grown, and all we ask for is a free, fair, and credible election, though we know they lack the capacity to give that,”
Yesufu further stated.

Yesufu also urged Nigerians to ensure that their votes count in future elections, stressing the importance of transparency and accountability.

“When you vote, make sure your vote is counted and entered for your candidate. Otherwise, all you did was paper painting,”
she advised.

When asked about her expectations for the INEC Chairman-designate, Yesufu expressed disappointment, saying she had no specific expectations from him.

“I don’t have any task for him because even the President that appointed him, I don’t believe is supposed to be there. For me, the focus is on the Nigerian people. INEC is not the problem; the people working there are. They are our brothers, sisters, spouses, and relatives. We must ensure they don’t take bribes or rig elections. If we do that, nobody will dare to rig,”
she stated.

Yesufu lamented the lack of necessary electoral reforms as the 2027 elections approach, highlighting the need for immediate changes to ensure free and fair elections.

“Nothing has been put in place. Nigerians must realise that the 2027 election is a fight for our lives,”
she said.

On the challenges facing Nigeria, Yesufu dismissed the notion that they were spiritual in nature. She pointed to bad governance as the root cause of Nigeria’s problems.

“People are dying from bad governance, corruption, and wrong policies. It’s not village people or enemies, it’s bad leaders. To have good governance, we must elect people with competence, character, and capacity, not looters or selfish individuals,”
she explained.

Yesufu also expressed deep concern over the ongoing neglect of the rights and welfare of girls in Nigeria. She condemned the government and society for turning a blind eye to abuses such as r*pe, child labour, and political exclusion.

“We must criminalize r*pe, punish offenders, and give victims a voice,”
she stressed, calling for stiffer punishment for perpetrators.

“R*pe can be stopped if it is treated as a serious crime. Right now, it’s not. Offenders are often excused, and victims are shamed,”she added.

2026 WCQ: I Never Fake Care – Nwabali Tells Osimhen Amid Clash With Bassey, Ndidi

Super Eagles goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali has shared a cryptic Instagram post believed to be directed at striker Victor Osimhen.

It comes just days after a tense on-field clash involving Nwabali, Wilfred Ndidi and Calvin Bassey during Nigeria’s 4-0 win over Benin Republic in a 2026 World Cup qualifier.

Osimhen scored a hat-trick as the three-time African champions made it into the continental playoffs.

However, there were criticisms aimed at Nwabali and some of his antics, especially after his mistakes in a 2-1 win over Lesotho last week.

While a lot of observers called for Nwabali to be dropped, head coach Eric Chelle kept with him.

But the Chippa United stopper was involved in flash incidents with his own team-mates.

First, he pushed Ndidi who tried to calm him down after he confronted a Benin player.

At half time, as the players trudged off the pitch, he was seen arguing with Bassey.

He has now added a layer to the incident by writing on his Instagram story: “I never fake care anyone.

“What I give, I give from my heart. Choose a good heart.

“People change so fast… I believe you VO9.”

Seyi Tinubu Gifted Me N20 Million – Nigerian Actress, Sarah Martins Says After Lagos Law Violation

Nollywood actress Sarah Martins has revealed that Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Tinubu, donated ₦20 million to support her charity initiative.

This comes a day after the Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Corps (LAGESC/KAI) apprehended her for allegedly violating environmental laws.

Recall that the actress was apprehended on Thursday during a charity cooking outreach in the Admiralty area of Lekki Phase 1.

The Commissioner for Environment and Water Resources, Tokunbo Wahab, stated that Ms Martins breached ‘objective four’ of the LAGESC/KAI Law on street vending, which prohibits the sale or preparation of food on roads or pavements.

In a video posted on her Instagram page on Friday, Ms Martins revealed that Mr Tinubu rewarded her financially and encouraged her to expand her charitable initiative.

A woman featured in the video was seen presenting an envelope containing N20 million to Ms Martins, explaining that Mr Tinubu admired the actress’s humanitarian efforts and wanted her to secure a proper shop for public safety and sustainability.

“He said you will be able to get a shop with this, where you can continue to harness your cooking skills and scale your production. He also said that when you get a shop, he’ll be responsible for equipping it with suitable industrial equipment. So this is just for you to get the shop.

“This is just to support what you do. This is to encourage you to pursue your passion. He watches you, follows you, and sees all that you do. And this is to encourage you to come to the big lane. The development needs a reputation,” she noted.

Ms Martins said the gesture extended to her would go a long way towards putting smiles on the faces of street children.

She said: “From disgrace to grace. From the office of the President, our philanthropic youth leader, Mr Seyi Tinubu, just supported my NGO with N20 million. Nigerians, please help me say thank you to him. He didn’t only give me N20 million. He also promised to take my free food charity outreach to the next level on behalf of the Golden Heart Foundation. I am beyond grateful, sir. And my beautiful Queen, Dr Bea, thank you for everything. We are in this together.

“Forward ever! Cheers to the next level. I am short of words. I am literally speechless. God bless you. God will surely continue to water every area of your life. You will go, succeed, and excel where others go and fail. Thank you for teaming up with me to continually put smiles on the faces of the vulnerable and homeless people through this.”

The actress explained that her decision to cook on the streets was driven by a desire to bring smiles to the faces of families who wake up each day uncertain of their next meal.

She said, “I just love humanity, so I feel like the best way I can help Nigeria support what the government is already doing is to put smiles on the faces of the people constantly, those who wake up without having hope of where their next meal will come from.

“So I said, let me be the hope for them, like someone waking up and knowing there is food somewhere for them to eat for free. That was the intention behind my motive. And for you to key into this.”

The Imo-born actress began acting in 2004 but gained recognition for her charitable street cooking initiative.

She’s known for movies like “The Widows,” “Dangerous Mad Man,” “The Gods Are Wise,” “Family Lies,” and “Feast of the Spirits,” among others.

Women Supporting Women In Nollywood Is A Scam – Nigerian Actress, Bukunmi Oluwasina Says

Nollywood actress Bukunmi Oluwasina has called the popular slogan “women supporting women” a scam.

The mother of one said most female solidarity in the film industry is not genuine.

Speaking in an interview with BBC Pidgin, the actress disclosed that in Nollywood, the idea of women supporting each other rarely lasts.

According to her, though some women show support publicly, many do not truly stand by one another when it matters most.

Oluwasina said that women often find it easier to assist men than their fellow women.

She explained that some women would lend money to men to start businesses, but hesitate to do the same for another woman.

She said she does not blame anyone for this attitude but believes it reflects a deeper issue among women.

The actress added that the problem is not limited to Nollywood, as the same pattern is visible in other spaces.

She said that while some people claim that women uplift each other, in reality, the support is often fake or short-lived.

Oluwasina also pointed out that there are hardworking women in the entertainment industry who succeed without sponsors.

However, she lamented that the efforts of such women are often downplayed because others hide under their achievements and make it seem as though every successful woman has a sponsor.

She said: “You know say women supporting women for Nollywood na scam. “E no dey always long. Even if they support each other, we know how e dey, but we dey see the men and dem dey do am. Everybody know say woman enemy na fellow woman.

“If you follow one woman talk, you go hear them talk say dem fit borrow man money make e start business, but to borrow fellow woman money make she start business e dey always hard. I no know how the thing dey like that. I no fault anybody, but e just dey.

“No be only for Nollywood. Women supporting women at some point, you go just see am. Even if dem talk say e dey happen, you go feel am say na scam.

“E no dey happen, and even if e happen, sometimes e no dey genuine.

“Women dey industry wey no get sponsor, dem dey do the work, the work dey show, we know dem, we see dem and their work. But na other people wey dey under their shadow dey use am run their thing, dey water down those women effort, making it look like everybody get sponsor.”

I’m For Tinubu Till 2031, Not Running for Presidency in 2027 – Wike

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike has revealed he has no plan to contest in the 2027 election.
Speaking on Friday, he denied report that a faction of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, is “pushing” him to run for the presidency in 2027.
Wike described the report as “another lie from idle minds who have nothing to contribute to the development of the country.”
A statement by his spokesman, Lere Olayinka, said “as far as Wike is concerned, it is President Bola Ahmed Tinubu till 2031”.
He said it was shameful that the “pull Wike down” elements could not reason beyond such kindergarten tactics, adding that it was clear that they need better brains to think for them.
According to the statement: “Report circulated by an online platform that is notorious for falsehood and blackmail that a meeting was held by some leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to “push” the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister, Nyesom Wike, to run for President in 2027, has been described as “another lie from idle minds who have nothing to contribute to the development of the country.

“Wike does not function in hiding. He does what he says, and says what he does.

“The Minister has made it clear where he stands as long as the 2027 Presidential election is concerned, he is with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.”

Olayinka stated that the only meeting that took place on August 20, 2025, was that of PDP stakeholders from Southern part of Nigeria, and the purpose was the meeting scheduled for Lagos on August 21, 2025, by some elements to rubberstamp a decision to micro-zone party positions zoned to the South.
“Outcome of the meeting was made public via a press statement titled; ‘Re: Purported Meeting Of PDP Southern Zoning Consultative Summit,’ signed by State Party Chairmen of Imo, Abia, Cross River, Akwa Ibom and Rivers, Austin Nwachukwu, Abraham Amah, Barr. Venatuis Ikem, Rt. Hon Aniekan Akpan and Aaron Chukwuemeka respectively, as well as the National Vice Chairman (South-East), Hon. Chidiebere Egwu Goodluck and Minority Leader of the House of Representatives, Hon O. K. Chinda.

“Others who signed the press statement were Senators Igwe Nwagu, Mao Ohuabunwa, George Sekibo, Mike Ama Nnachi, former National Secretary, Rt. Hon. Onwe S. Onwe, Deputy National Legal Adviser, Barr. Okechukwu Osuoha, former Ebonyi State Legal Adviser, Barr. Mudi Erhenede and others.

“Obviously, the above names were picked from the press statement published in all major newspapers and aired on national television stations, to advance the latest mischief.

“We know their intention though. But unfortunately for them, and the platform they are using to propagate their idle plots, the person and character of the FCT Minister is known to everyone – he does not do anything in hiding.

“He has said it clearly that from now till 2031, it is on the mandate of Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu that he will stand.

“To ensure the success of the President’s reelection, Wike will continue to deliver on the Renewed Hope Agenda in the FCT by actualising the visions of the President for a federal capital city that can compete with other capital cities in the world in terms of infrastructural development.”

FG Sues Senator Nwebonyi Over Alleged Vile Remarks Against Senator Natasha

The Federal Government of Nigeria has instituted a law suit against Senator Peter Onyekachi Nwebonyi.
FG sued Nwebonyi over alleged defamatory statements made against Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, who represents Kogi Central Senatorial District.
Sahara Reporters revealed that the five-count charge, marked CR/547/2025, was filed before the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court, Abuja, by Mohamed Babadoko Abubakar, Director of the Department of Public Prosecutions of the Federation, on behalf of the Honourable Attorney General of the Federation.
According to the charge sheet dated September 11, 2025, and obtained by SaharaReporters on Friday, Senator Nwebonyi, who represents Ebonyi North Senatorial District and serves as Deputy Chief Whip of the Senate, made the offending remarks between March 3 and 29, 2025, during appearances on Arise Television, Channels Television, TVC, and News Central Television in Abuja, as well as in other media outlets

The prosecution accused Senator Nwebonyi of making several statements intended to damage Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan’s reputation, including describing her as “a habitual accuser” and “a woman who uses her gender as a weapon.”

He was further quoted as saying, “This woman is a known blackmailer, and people should be very careful with this woman.”

According to the Federal Government, these remarks were malicious and capable of exposing Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan to public hatred, contempt, and ridicule.
The charge sheet also alleged that Nwebonyi made disparaging personal comments about the senator, describing her as “a mother of six from different men” and questioning her moral character, statements which the prosecution says constitute a violation of Section 391 of the Penal Code Act, Cap 532, Laws of the Federal Capital Territory, and are punishable under Section 392 of the same Act.
Count One of the charge specifically accuses Senator Nwebonyi of making imputations knowing that such statements would harm the reputation of another person, contrary to Section 391 of the Penal Code Act.
If convicted, the offence carries a potential sentence of imprisonment, fine, or both, as stipulated under the Penal Code provisions.
The statement of offence for count one reads, “Making imputation knowing that such imputation will harm the reputation of a person contrary to Section 391 of the Penal Code Act, Cap 532 Laws of the Federal Capital Territory Nigeria and punishable under Section 392 of the same Act.

“That on or about the 3rd day of March 2025, during a live studio interview programme “NewsDay” on Arise Television in Abuja, Federal Capital Territory, within the jurisdiction of this Honourable Court, You SENATOR PETER ONYEKACHI NWEBONYI, made the following imputation concerning Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan during the referenced interview programme with Arise Television anchors/hosts (Aaron Akerejola and Cynthia Areh) to wit:

“This is an attempt to discredit the Senate President, and this is not the first time, just give me some time, this is not the first time this woman is doing this. This is a woman that have accused Yahaya Bello of sexual harassment…”

“This is the same woman that accused Reno Omokri, the former media aide to Jonathan of sexual harassment, this is a woman I saw on a video yesterday accusing a Minister of sexual harassment. Are you the only woman in Nigeria? Senator Natasha! What is wrong with you?”

“This is madness, Nigerian women should rise against this, let me tell you something…”

“Senator Natasha is spoiling game for Nigeria women trying to enter politics, because nobody will vote for a woman… No! I’m telling you, if women can behave this way, then there is danger… if you give them more power!”

“And I have my points, any slightest provocation, you accuse eh, he want to sexually harass me, he eh (inaudible). Who are you? A mother of six…a mother of six from different men, without going to her character, this is a mother of six from different men and you think that her character is not questionable.”

“I’m going to her character, she have to change! We should condemn evil that is the point…I’m a Christian.”

“Listen! She is a habitual accuser, she is a habitual accuser of men, of sexual harassment.”

“And YOU SENATOR PETER ONYEKACHI NWEBONYI know or have reason to believe that these imputations will harm the reputation of Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, a Senator of the 10th Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.”

Counts Two to Five: Each of the remaining four counts accuses Senator Peter Nwebonyi of making statements or imputations knowing, or having reason to believe, that such remarks would harm the reputation of another person, in violation of Section 391 of the Penal Code Act.
The Federal Government maintains that these imputations were made maliciously and with reckless disregard for the truth, thereby constituting criminal defamation under the law.
The case has been formally scheduled for hearing at the Federal Capital Territory High Court, where Senator Nwebonyi is expected to take his plea and defend himself against the allegations.
If found guilty, he faces penalties prescribed under Section 392 of the Penal Code Act, which include imprisonment, a fine, or both.

The Day Lionel Messi Retired from International Football

It was June 26, 2016, at New Jersey’s MetLife Stadium. Under the floodlights, Lionel Messi, football’s little magician, the man who made the impossible look effortless — stood frozen, hands on hips, eyes lost in the grass. Argentina had just fallen to Chile in yet another Copa América final, their third straight heartbreak in a major tournament.
But this one cut deeper. And for the first time, it looked like football’s greatest artist had finally been broken.
When Chile’s Francisco Silva converted the decisive penalty in the shootout, Messi’s head dropped. The man who made the game look so effortless had missed his own spot kick moments earlier, an unthinkable twist in a career built on perfection.
As the Chilean players celebrated, Messi sat alone, his face buried in his hands. The cameras caught every tear, every sigh, every ounce of disbelief. Argentina’s captain, their hope, their pride, their genius, looked defeated not just by the result, but by destiny itself.
Minutes later, in the post-match mix zone, the unthinkable happened. Messi faced the microphones, his voice trembling as he uttered the words that no football fan ever thought they’d hear:
“The national team is over for me. I’ve done all I can. It hurts not to be a champion with Argentina.”
And just like that, Lionel Messi, the heartbeat of a nation, had quit international football.
The world stood still.
Social media exploded.
Fans cried. Journalists gasped. Even rival players expressed disbelief. How could the greatest player of his generation, some would say of all time, walk away at just 29?
Argentina had lost finals in 2014, 2015, and now 2016. Each defeat added a fresh scar. For Messi, who had given everything for his country but had nothing to show for it, the pain was unbearable. He felt he had failed Argentina, a feeling millions of fans tried to tell him wasn’t true. In Rosario, his hometown, murals were painted overnight pleading, “Don’t go, Leo.”
And slowly, something remarkable happened. From Buenos Aires to Barcelona, voices rose, not in anger, but in love. “Come back, Messi,” they chanted. Children wrote letters. Teammates called. Even Argentina’s President publicly urged him to reconsider.
Two months later, the king returned.
Messi announced he would rejoin the national team, saying,
“I love my country too much and want to continue helping it.”
That comeback changed everything. Five years later, he finally lifted the Copa América in 2021, Argentina’s first major trophy in 28 years. And in 2022, Messi completed the story of all stories, guiding Argentina to FIFA World Cup glory in Qatar, cementing his place among the immortals.
From tears in New Jersey to triumph in Lusail, Messi’s journey is proof that even legends can fall, doubt, and rise again. That night in 2016 was the beginning of his redemption.
Just like Messi did, don’t just watch football. Feel it. Live it. Bet with confidence and play where champions rise, only on iLOTBET!
