Nollywood Actress, Doris Ogala Slams Pastor Chris Okafor With A N1bn Lawsuit Over Unfulfilled Marriage Promise

Nollywood actress Doris Ogala has escalated her long-standing dispute with popular clergyman Pastor Chris Okafor to the courts, filing a ₦1 billion lawsuit over what she claims was an unfulfilled promise of marriage.

The actress instituted the suit at a high court, accusing the pastor of emotional distress, reputational damage, and breach of trust arising from their alleged relationship.

Doris has repeatedly claimed that she and Pastor Okafor were in a serious, long-term relationship and that she was led to believe marriage was imminent.

In previous public statements, Doris alleged that the relationship spanned several years, during which she said she made personal sacrifices, offered support, and remained loyal, only to be abandoned when the pastor allegedly chose to marry someone else.

She has consistently denied claims that her demands amount to blackmail, insisting instead that she is seeking justice for emotional and psychological harm suffered.

The ₦1 billion suit is said to include demands for damages, public apology, and legal recognition of the alleged wrongs committed against her.

While details of the court filings are yet to be fully made public, the development marks a significant escalation in the highly publicized dispute that has played out both online and in the media.

As of the time of filing this report, Pastor Chris Okafor has not issued an official response to the lawsuit. The case is expected to attract considerable public attention as it progresses, given the profiles of both parties and the sensitive nature of the allegations.

The court is yet to fix a date for hearing.

FIFA Overturns Three Matches Over Players’ Eligibility As Super Eagles Wait

FIFA has sanctioned Malaysia with three 3–0 losses in three matches after the team was found guilty of fielding ineligible players.

This was confirmed by the Football Association of Malaysia, FAM, on Wednesday.

The results involved includes victories in friendly matches against Palestine and Singapore and a draw with Cape Verde.

FIFA suspended the seven players who submitted forged documents claiming they had Malaysian ancestry.

The FAM, who were previously hit with a $440,000 fine, will pay a further $12,500 as part of their punishment.

FIFA began the investigation after receiving a complaint following Malaysia’s 4-0 win against Vietnam in June in an Asian Cup qualifier, a game where two of the seven affected players scored.

The investigation revealed that none of Hector Hevel, Jon Irazabal, Gabriel Palmero, Facundo Garces, Rodrigo Holgado, Imanol Machuca, or Joao Brandao Figueiredo had a parent or grandparent born in Malaysia, a requirement for selection to a national team.

This comes as the Nigeria Football Federation, NFF, have sent a complaint to FIFA insisting the Democratic Republic of Congo used ineligible players for their 2026 World Cup qualifying game.

The Leopards beat the Super Eagles in the African play-offs via penalties and are getting ready to play in the intercontinental play-off final.

The Nigerian Music Industry Would Have Been Boring Without Me – Davido Boasts

Afrobeats singer David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has asserted that the Nigerian music industry would be dull without his presence.

He made the claim on his X handle when he wrote, “Imagine no Davido….  Sh*t [the music industry] would have been boring AF.”

His post elicited mixed reactions, with many arguing that he was overestimating his contribution to the music industry.

This is not the first time Davido is claiming he is the lifeblood of the Nigerian music industry.

In an interview with Apple Music in April 2025, Davido claimed that the Nigerian music industry shut down when he took a break from social media in November 2022 following the tragic death of his son, Ifeanyi Adeleke.

He claimed that both fans and trolls were begging him to return to social media during the three-month break.

The came into the spotlight in 2011 with the release of his hit song ‘Dami Duro’ at a time when the Nigerian music industry was witnessing the rise of young Afrobeats stars led by Wizkid.

Recently, veteran producer Samkleff claimed that Davido’s entry into the Nigerian music industry brought rivalry and toxicity to the industry.

He claimed that prior to Davido’s stardom, there was mutual respect among Nigerian artists.

Carter Efe Beats Shanks to Become Africa’s Most-Followed Streamer on Twitch After Live Stream With Davido (Video)

Nigerian content creator and musician Oderhohwo Efe, popularly known as Carter Efe, has emerged as Africa’s most-followed streamer on Twitch.

He broke the record previously held by compatriot, Adesokan Emmanuel, known as Shank Comics.

The milestone followed a high-profile livestream collaboration with Afrobeats superstar, Davido, on Wednesday, which triggered a massive surge in followers.

Checks on Thursday showed that Efe now boasts over 406,000 followers on the platform.

Shank Comics, who set the previous record about six months ago, holds approximately 233,000 followers.

Efe, who had about 322,000 followers just a day earlier, gained roughly 160,000 followers in four days, a rise that stemmed directly from the announcement and execution of his joint stream with Davido.

The “Machala” crooner also reportedly broke the record for the most-watched Twitch livestream in Africa, with about 83,000 viewers, and became the first African streamer to surpass 20,000 subscribers on Twitch.

During the session, Davido connected Efe with notable figures, including his wife, nightlife mogul Cubana Chief Priest, and even called out the Twitch CEO Dan Clancy.

He also dialled Super Eagles striker, Victor Osimhen, for a lively on-stream chat.

Osimhen’s appearance added a sporting dimension to the stream, delighting fans who tuned in for the rare crossover between Nigeria’s music and football scenes.

The event took an unexpected turn when content creator Enzo burst in, challenging Efe to an impromptu boxing match to “prove” his loyalty to Davido’s 30BG fan base, a moment that generated widespread reactions across social media.
