Mercy Aigbe, the popular Nollywood actress, has joined her husband, Kazim Adeoti, on a pilgrimage to Mecca.
The mother of two, who recently announced her conversion to Islam and debuted a new name, announced their departure on Instagram.
She shared photos of them taken at the airport and captioned it, “Hajj 2023……. Alhamdulilah.”
In the photos, Mercy wore a beautiful black dress while her husband wore a white Jalabiya and a native cap.

Arsenal on Friday confirmed Ainsley Maitland-Niles’s departure from Mikel Arteta’s side following the expiration of his contract this month.

“The trophy wins would probably be the best moments for me, obviously some of the domestic seasons weren’t so great but at least I got to win some trophies with the club that I love. The FA Cup final was a fantastic day that will always stick in my mind, and I was happy to be a part of the team that won it.”
Grammy award-winning Nigerian singer, Ayodeji Balogun, aka Wizkid, has revealed his favourite footballer between Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.
He picked his favourite during a chat with Red Radio.
Wizkid was asked to choose between Messi and Ronaldo and after dilly-dallying, he eventually picked Ronaldo.
He said, “I don’t watch football [laughs]. Ronaldo, I guess.”
Asked who he would rather bring back to life between Fela and Bob Marley, Wizkid said, “Wow! Fela Kuti!”

Afeez Agoro Oladimiji, the popular reality TV star and actor, who was widely recognized as the tallest man in Nigeria died on Wednesday, June 14.
The Nation reports that Agoro’s burial arrangement has commenced at his residence in Community road, Akoka.

Five suspected internet fraudsters have been arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, in Lagos.
The suspects were identified as Tamaraemi Akpoviri, Jonathan Oshioke Okhumode, Jordan O. Clifford, Okorie J. Christian and Enabule Peace Osaro.
They were arrested during a sting operation at the Buena Vista Estate, Orchid Road, Lekki area of Lagos State, following an intelligence report on the activities of some individuals suspected to be internet fraudsters in the area.
Items recovered from the suspects at the point of arrest include exotic cars, mobile devices and laptop computers.
The Commission added that suspects will be charged to court once investigations are concluded.

The world’s largest kidney stone has been removed from a patient in Sri Lanka.
The kidney stone is about the size of a grapefuit, as long as a banana and as heavy as four hamsters.
At 13.372 centimeters (5.26 inches) long and weighing 801 grams (1.76 lbs) the kidney stone broke two world records when it was removed by Sri Lankan Army doctors on June 1, according to the Guinness World Records.
Previously the records were 13 centimeters for length, set in India in 2004, and 620 grams for weight, set in Pakistan in 2008, according to the Guinness World Records.
Guinness World Records has confirmed that both records have been broken by the Sri Lankan stone, removed at the Colombo Army Hospital.

Fast-rising Nigerian singer, Crayon has opened up on how he walked out of an examination hall to pursue his music career.
The ‘Ijo (Laba Laba)’ crooner artist made this revelation in a chat with HipTV.
According to Crayon, he exited the University of Lagos, UNILAG during his post-Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, UTME test after five attempts to pursue a career in music.
The Mavin-signed singer said he couldn’t manage music and school as a result of stress.
He said he had a conversation with his parents about doing music and his dad persuaded him to attempt UTME for the fifth time.
According to the singer, a music friend named Baby Fresh, whom he met, inspired him to make a “big sacrifice” for his career.
He (Cray) said, “I won’t be able to juggle school and music at the same time because in Nigeria it’s quite stressful.
“I sat my parents down. I was like, ‘Mum and Dad, I want to make music.’ I said I feel like that’s what my heart is going for. My dad said just try this fifth one, if it doesn’t work out, you can go ahead and do music.
“So I met Baby Fresh already. It was just a moment when I had to make that big sacrifice.”
Crayon, said he had to call a friend for support, adding that he lied to his parents about not being on the school’s admission list.
“I was in UNILAG writing my post-UTME and I walked out and everyone was just looking at me like, ‘Who is the guy? How?’ Like, ‘Why would you do this after waiting for so long?’” the singer said.
“I had to call my friend Julius. I was like, ‘I just did the craziest thing in my life.’ He was like, ‘You just told God you’re serious.’ So I just lied to my parents that I wrote the exam but my name didn’t come out.”
