How Tiwa Savage Reacted After A Troll Asked Her To Quit Music For Marriage

Nigerian singer Tiwa Savage has replied to unsolicited marital advice from a critic during a recent online Q&A session.

The session, held on Tuesday to build anticipation for her upcoming fourth studio album ‘This One Is Personal‘ — slated for release on August 29 — took a turn when followers on X began offering critiques instead of questions.

One user advised the award-winning singer to “get married and rest. Your time has passed”.

Savage’s response was dismissive: “Okay, NEXTT” — making it clear she had no intention of entertaining such negativity.

Another fan suggested that Savage, 45, should retire from music and venture into business.

“Tiwa, if I were you, I would stop singing. Not because your music isn’t good, but because it’s high time you used the money you have and venture into business or genuine investment. You had a wonderful and fun youthful age and time,” the user wrote.

The ‘Kele Kele Love’ hitmaker responded with braggadocio, revealing she is far from needing a career change.

“Sweetheart, I have enough money and investments choke, no worry. The youthful age has just begun o,” she replied.

Savage recently made it clear she’s looking for a partner who owns a private jet and yacht.

The mother of one also revealed that she is now prioritising financial security over love in her romantic relationships.

In May, she disclosed that she is avoiding relationships with Nigerian men because of their “lack of romance”.

Savage tied the knot with Tunji ‘TeeBillz’ Balogun in 2013, and they welcomed their son Jamal in 2015. They, however, divorced in 2018.

Since her debut, Savage has solidified her status as one of Africa’s most influential and celebrated musical talents.

In July, Savage marked 12 years since the release of her debut album ‘Once Upon a Time’ (2013). Her other albums include ‘R.E.D’ (2015) and ‘Celia’ (2020).

S3xtapes: Equatorial Guinea Court Sends Baltasar Engonga to Jail

Infamous cheater, Baltasar Ebang Engonga has been sentenced to eight years in prison.
A court in Equatorial Guinea found the former senior government official guilty of embezzling government funds.
Engonga became famous after s3xtapes involving him and several women leaked online.
According to Hilario Mitogo, press director of the Supreme Court, the Bioko provincial tribunal found Engonga guilty of diverting funds meant for professional travel expenses for personal use.
He was also fined $220,000.
Engonga, a former head of the national financial investigation agency, was tried alongside five other senior officials accused of misappropriating hundreds of thousands of dollars in public funds.
  • The case follows his detention in November, when videos of him with women, including the spouses of other officials, surfaced on social media while investigations into the embezzlement charges were ongoing.

Phyna Accuses Dangote Group of Reneging on Agreement to Fly Her Sister Abroad for Treatment

Reality star, Phyna has accused Dangote group of refusing to honour agreement to fly her sister abroad for treatment.
She took to her Instagram page to make the accusation against Dangote group.
Recall that the ex BBNaija star had raised an alarm after a Dangote truck mauled her sister, leaving her unconscious.
According to Phyna, she and the Dangote group have been communicating and she’s been providing with update about her medical report.
However, on the issue of getting her sister treated abroad, they reneged.
She said:
“medical reports he said to me received and I said these are all the medical reports and if you give it to your doctors too you realize she doesn’t have much time and we need to act fast what’s the next move right now he replied me and said I agree with you we would engage the medical team and revert and I said which medical team the ones in lagoon he said yes and then insurance That wants to inform the medical team in that lab. The same medical team that gave me this one. That gave me this one. And insurance. I was surprised like insurance. I mean… Like, I don’t know, but I said, okay, cool. I said, cool. Engaging the doctors already on treatment plan for Ruth. We would be guided by medical option of what is best for Ruth at all time. Now, this one vex me. Do you know why this vexed me? Because, hello, we had an agreement that we are only bringing my sister to Lagos. So they will be stabilizing her while we prepare to travel. That was our agreement. I already asked the hospital’s MD if my sister can be moved. He said yes. That should be what you should be asking. Like I said, she cannot be treated in Nigeria. So that’s the question you all should be asking. He now replied, he said, please, can we have the medical report from Lagoon that says they cannot handle roots in their facility? Please, see, I don’t want parao. Because why I told him, I’m like, I should tell hospital to write me a medical report that states they cannot handle my sister. Now see the hospital, they are good. I feel they can handle about, sir, we need to fly my sister out. And I made an instance that, sir, if you have a child, and your child is in the best hospital in Nigeria, and you, you still decide to fly your child, you don’t tell the hospital to write that they cannot handle your sister. Why are you even stressing me? What the fuck? If Dangote’s child is sick, do they wait for medical reports to tell them to treat the girl in Nigeria? My sister’s lungs, there is fluid. Her reproductive organ is crushed. Her bladder is busted. We are praying every day for her to get to the next day. And you’re trying to outsmart me. You’re trying to play me. You’re trying to make me feel like I’m not smart or I don’t know what I’m saying. Bust my head, finish. After this man said that last thing, he did not reply my message again. This was where he said, please I should get a medical report from Lagoon that says they cannot handle her. After we already had an agreement that my sister was just going to be in Lagoon, seal, all documents to fly her are ready. And now, this one will never even talk of other demands will follow. This one I just make her focus on her medical first. That’s what me I’m trying to make clear. I cannot use my sister’s life to gamble. Now, I think I will share my demands with you….”

Nigerian actress Eniola Ajao has denied having an alleged romantic affair with a senior colleague, Odunlade Adekola.
She debunked the allegation in a series of post on Instagram.
This comes after a video showed her hiding from the camera during the burial of Odunlade’s father, last week.
Recall that over the years Ajao has been linked to the actor romantically.
However, speaking on Wednesday in a series of posts on her Instagram story, the actress stated that the allegations are aimed at tarnishing her personality.
While explaining that she “can’t fix every lie and rumour”, she noted that “life hits differently when you stop to prove you didn’t do that, or you are not like that”.
“You can’t fix every lie and rumour, nor can you defend yourself every time. Just be great. People may destroy your image, stain your personality, but they can’t take away your good deeds because no matter how they describe you, you will still be admired by those who know you better,” she added.

Naira Slides To N1,550/$ In Parallel Market

The Naira weakened further on Tuesday, August 26, closing at N1,550 per dollar in the parallel market, compared to N1,540 per dollar on Monday.

In the Nigerian Foreign Exchange Market (NFEM), the local currency also weakened slightly to N1,537 per dollar, compared to N1,536.99 per dollar the previous day, according to data from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).

This depreciation widened the gap between the official and parallel market rates to N13 per dollar, a sharp increase from N3.01 recorded on Monday.

The currency’s drop reflects sustained pressure from high demand for foreign exchange amid limited dollar supply, a challenge that has persisted despite ongoing CBN interventions and recent policy reforms aimed at stabilizing the market.

Analysts warn that without a significant boost in forex inflows and improved investor confidence, the Naira could face further volatility in the coming weeks.

Welfare Demands: ASUU Rejects Tinubu’s Loan Offer, Calls it a Greek Gift

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has rejected the federal government’s loan proposal for its members.
ASUU described the loan as a “Greek gift.”
This position was taken by the University of Lagos (UNILAG) chapter of the union during a special congress held on Tuesday, August 26.
The union also unanimously resolved to support all measures being considered by its national leadership to press home their demands.
Addressing members after a solidarity march from the Main Gate through the campus, Branch Chairman Prof. Idowu Kehinde said that if the government honored its obligations to lecturers, there would be no need for loans.
“The loans are to be guaranteed by our union. This is not necessary. The Governing Council of each university can give loans to our members based on our condition of service.
 
If we are paid a living wage and if all our allowances are paid as expected, who would want to go borrowing money? Let them do the needful and we are okay,” he said.
