Why Many Nigerians Are Stuck in Failure – Terry G

Afrobeats singer, Gabriel Oche Amanyi, popularly known as Terry G has opened up why Nigerians are stuck in failure.
He blamed poor parental upbringing.
He noted that negative declarations of parents to their children often led to the children developing low self-esteem even into adulthood.
The Akpako Master advised Nigerians to break the cycle and embrace a positive mindset.
On his X handle, Terry G wrote, “Our Nigerian parents really do many of us strong thing.
The point I’m making is this :when you come under my post saying you’ll never make it that’s not really you speaking,it’s the voice of what you grew up hearing at home.
When you say, ‘you can’t do this, you can’t do that,’ you’re only repeating what your father and mother told u growing up.

“Now you see you’ve carried that same energy into adulthood, and that’s why many are stuck in failure.
It’s time to break that cycle.
It’s time to change that mindset.”

Tinubu Cannot Solve Nigeria’s Hunger – Atiku Warns of Revolution

Former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar has slammed President Bola Tinubu over the rising level of hunger and hardship in the country.
He lamented that Nigerians are suffering from poverty under President Bola Tinubu’s administration.
He noted that Tinubu is not capable of solving Nigeria’s problems.
‎In a statement by his Media Aide, Paul Ibe, Atiku recalled how poverty and hunger caused revolutions in the Arab world, as well as France and Russia.
In a statement released today September 15, the African Democratic Party (ADC) chieftain described the level of hunger in the country as unacceptable, particularly among the underprivileged and downtrodden.
“Whatever reform the Tinubu government might claim to be undertaking, the point remains that food insecurity is a daily occurrence nationwide.  There is no government worth its salt that does not place priority on the welfare and security of the people” Atiku said
He warned that “most violent socio-political uprisings and revolutions around the world have been driven by widespread hunger and unbearable living conditions, especially the paradox of extreme poverty in a land of abundance.”
The former Vice President emphasized that the primary responsibility of any government is to ensure the security and welfare of its citizens.
However, he lamented that under the leadership of President Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC), millions of Nigerians are increasingly trapped in poverty and misery.
He further stated that the current state of the nation offers little reason for optimism, as it is fueling a growing surge in criminal activities, including large-scale fraud, terrorism, kidnapping, cultism, drug abuse, and ritual killings, among others.
He advised that the “current unacceptable situation offers an opportunity for reflection,” citing historical examples such as the French Revolution, the 1917 Russian Revolution, and the Arab Spring.
He recalled how a young man, driven by unbearable frustration, set himself ablaze, an act that triggered widespread socio-political unrest, beginning in Tunisia and spreading across the Middle East and North Africa.
“Back home here in Nigeria, it may not be out of place to argue that even the “ENDSARS” protest was fuelled by the traumatising frustration of hunger and insensitivity on the part of the government,” he said.
He stressed further that since reforms are made for citizens and not the other way round, the reforms of this administration should have a human face.
“Whether the present powers accept it or not, the reality of our existence is that the poor are increasingly dying of hunger while the majority of the living poor exists at the mercy of the ill-advised policies of this government.” he said

Fuji Star Obesere Set to Marry Popular S3x therapist as Second Wife

Popular Fuji musician Abass Akande, better known as Obesere or Omo Rapala is set to marry popular s3x therapist and social media personality Yinka Ayanda, known as Yinka TNT as his second wife.
This was confirmed by Obesere’s manager, Arems Adeniyi in an interview with PREMIUM TIMES on Monday, September 15.
Recall that Obesere has been married for many years to Abeni Tolanikawo, with whom he has children.
He said, “It is true that Obesere is getting married to a second wife. The news is already out there. He is getting married to Yinka TNT, but I cannot give you a specific date for the wedding because none has been fixed yet. Thank you.”

Yinka TNT, a mental health nurse based in the UK, is widely recognised for her outspoken discussions on s3xual health, consent, contraception, safe practices, and relationships. She has said that although she did not study s3x therapy, she runs her popular programme based on her marital experience and knowledge gained from observing those around her.
In December 2024, Yinka TNT revealed in an interview that she was married and had children, though she did not disclose the identity of her husband. It remains unclear whether she divorced before her relationship with Obesere.
Earlier this month, Yinka TNT announced on social media that she had introduced Obesere to her family, posting photos with the Ibadan-born singer and dismissing doubts about their relationship. She further revealed that the introduction video would be uploaded on her Yoruba page, but checks showed that only a video for a new song, “Ololufe,” featuring both of them, had been released.
The video, released on 7 September, opened with Obesere and Yinka TNT lying in bed together before showing Yinka TNT stretching, wearing sunglasses, washing dishes, and preparing food. In the visuals, she praised her lover and vowed to choose him again if given another chance to return to earth.
Yinka TNT has also strongly defended her marriage to the Fuji star, hitting back at critics.
She said, “I don’t know why you people are so wicked. Obesere isn’t complaining, yet you keep talking rubbish. Anyone who says they are unhappy with this marriage journey I have embarked on will never be successful. Such a person will never prosper. What exactly did I do to you? You all keep saying Obesere once said he could not marry two wives. Are you his parents, his mother, or his wife? What is your business? He has done it, so you can all go and die.”

“They told me not to talk, but those close to Akande keep disturbing and harassing him, and it eventually gets to me. There is nothing you can do about it. I have married him, and there is nothing anyone can do to change it. Those talking only wish to marry him, but their destiny did not permit it.”
She also cursed anyone who did not wish her and Obesere well in their marriage.

Elon Musk Purchases $1 billion in Tesla Shares to Boost Stock

In a bid to boost Tesla stock, CEO Elon Musk has purchased around $1 billion worth of Tesla shares.
Following the purchase, Tesla stock rose by six percent on Monday, September 15.
A filing with the US Securities and Exchange Commission showed that Musk, who also owns social media platform X and space company SpaceX, acquired 2.57 million shares on Friday at prices between $371 and $396 each.
The investment comes in the same month Tesla outlined a proposed compensation package for Musk that could exceed $1 trillion if he delivers on ambitious growth targets driven by new technologies. Tesla chair Robyn Denholm has been actively defending the plan in recent business media appearances, describing Musk as “a generational leader” uniquely capable of steering the company in the years ahead.
The package would give Musk up to 12 percent more of Tesla’s total shares if the company hits a market capitalization of at least $8.5 trillion by 2035. A shareholder vote on the proposal is scheduled for November.
The plan also comes as Tesla challenges a Delaware court ruling that voided Musk’s previous 2018 pay deal worth $55.8 billion.
Tesla’s market capitalization currently stands at just over $1 trillion, below earlier highs following weaker-than-expected earnings. Analysts have linked the dip in performance partly to Musk’s political stances and alignment with far-right figures, which have drawn backlash and slowed sales in some key markets.

Obtain Licence Before Teaching – FG to Teachers

The Federal Ministry of Education has released a new policy mandating all teachers in the country to registered with the Teachers Registration Council of Nigeria (TRCN) and the National Teachers’ Institute (NTI).
According to FG, all teachers must obtain a licence from TRCN before teaching as part of efforts to raise teaching standards and improve education outcomes nationwide.
The Ministry stated this in a statement released on Sunday via its official X handle.
Under the new framework, NTI will focus on in-service training and community-based professional development programmes, while TRCN will handle the regulation and licensing of teachers across Nigeria.
Education Minister Dr. Maruf Alausa unveiled fresh guidelines for both agencies, covering teacher registration, professional development, compliance monitoring, welfare, and curriculum standards.

“No teacher will stand before a Nigerian classroom without TRCN registration and licensing. This guarantees competent and professional teaching for every child,” Alausa said. “This reform is about results and sustainability. Nigerian children will be taught by the best, prepared for the best, and supported by the best. It is Renewed Hope in action.”
The minister had earlier directed secondary schools to ensure that their teachers are properly certified, warning that uncertified schools will lose accreditation to serve as examination centres.
Starting in 2027, accreditation for both public and private schools to host public examinations — including WASSCE, NABTEB, NECO, and NBIAS — will be strictly tied to teachers’ TRCN certification.
