You Are Ingrates – Olasco Films Blasts Okunnu, Austin Emmanuel For Calling Him Out (Video)

Veteran movie marketer Akeem Olatunji Balogun, widely known as Olasco Films, has labeled actors Okunnu and Austin Emmanuel as ungrateful.

He stated this while reacting to allegations against him by the actors during their recent interview.

Recall that Okunnu had some days ago called out Olasco Films over a movie he produced for him 16 years ago.

Okunnu who accused Olasco of pocketing all the money made from the movie, said, “I haven’t forgiven Olasco.”

This came a few months after actor Austin Emmanuel accused Olasco Films and his close associate, Toymax Films, of blacklisting him in the industry.

Austin who has been away from the screen for years, also accused Toymax of sleeping with his girlfriend named Aisha Raji.

However, reacting to the allegations, Olasco in an Interview with actor Tunde Ola-Yusuf, called Okunnu and Austin Emmanuel ingrates.

While explaining that he gave Okunnu N2 million to produce the movie for him, he narrated his contribution to Austin Emmanuel’s career.

“Okunnu is like a blind man using a walking stick, and when he regained his sight, he threw away the walking stick that was guiding him when he was blind. That’s who he is for him to say he worked for me without pay. Okunnu collected N2 million from me to produce the movie for me 16 years ago. As at that time, production only cost between N700,000 to N1 million.

“Austin Emmanuel wants to trend with my name. I assisted him to advertise the very movie that made him famous in my films, so he’s an ingrate,” he said.

Watch him speak in the video below:

All R@pists Should Be Castrated And Burnt Alive – Nigerian Singer, Simi Blows Hot

Afrobeats singer Simi, born Simisola Kosoko, has stirred controversy after advocating capital punishment for r@pists.

Nigeria is currently in a s*xual assault crisis with multiple r@pe allegations being reported in different parts of the country in recent weeks.

Reacting on Tuesday night, Simi passionately appealed to citizens and the authorities to put an end to s*xual ass@ult against women.

“I’m sickkk of this. Stop r@ping women. They need to castrate r@pists and burn them,” she wrote in a fierce X post.

However, her suggestion of a capital punishment for r@pists sparked a debate, with many arguing that the same should be given to false r@pe accusers.

Simi maintained that she was advocating for r@pe victims and not victims of false r@pe accusations, which further escalated ther controversy.

Shunning the outrage from her male fans, the singer explained that she was advocating for r@pe victims because almost all the women she knew have been “s*xually assaulted at some points of their lives.”

She argued that it isn’t right to stop people from speaking against s*xual assault just because of false r@pe accusers.

“How many of your friends have actually assaulted women as vibes?? Women are terrified to go out. Women in their homes are not safe either. Ask your sisters. Ask your female friends and your girlfriends. Ask your wives. We’re not all crazy. Stop r@ping women,” she added.

Simi also urged men to hold their fellow men accountable, claiming that men creating the enabling environment for r@pists due to their failure to hold other accountable.

WAEC releases 2025 second series CB‑WASSCE results for private candidates

The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has officially released the results of the 2025 Second Series Computer‑Based West African Senior School Certificate Examination (CB‑WASSCE) for private candidates.

The announcement was made on Monday by Moyosola Adesina, Acting Head of the Public Affairs Unit at the WAEC National Office in Lagos.

A total of 69,604 candidates registered for the examination, marking a 1.8% increase compared to the 2024 figure of 68,342. Out of these, 65,752 candidates sat for the exams at 370 centres nationwide.

Of those who wrote the exams, 51.69% (33,989 candidates) obtained credit and above in at least five subjects, with or without English and Mathematics, while 42.17% (27,727 candidates) secured credits in five subjects including English and Mathematics — a key benchmark for many university admissions and job requirements.

Among these successful candidates, 13,416 were male (48.39%) and 14,311 were female (51.61%).

The 2025 Second Series CB‑WASSCE also saw participation by candidates with special needs, including those with visual and hearing impairments and albinism, with accommodations provided throughout the examination process to ensure inclusivity.

However, WAEC stated that 1,899 candidates (2.89%) had their results withheld due to reported cases of examination malpractice.

Investigations are ongoing, and decisions will be communicated directly to the affected candidates.

Candidates can check their results via the WAEC Direct Portal at www.waecdirect.org. After checking their scores, candidates can also access digital copies of their certificates on the WAEC website at www.waec.org.

Those who prefer hard copy certificates can apply online through the WAEC Certificate Request Portal (e‑Certman) at certrequest.waec.ng.

This release gives private candidates the opportunity to see how they performed in the 2025 Second Series CB‑WASSCE.

While many students achieved solid results, challenges remain, especially as WAEC continues to work on improving examination integrity and performance tracking across Nigeria.

Electronic Transmission: If India Can Do It, Nigeria Has No Excuse – Peter Obi

Former Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi stated that if large countries such as India can conduct elections and transmit results electronically, Nigeria has no reason not to adopt the same approach.

In a statement posted on his verified X handle on Tuesday, Obi said India, the world’s largest democracy, with nearly one billion registered voters and more than 60 percent actively participating in elections, remains a model.

According to him, the country has over one million polling stations and thousands of political parties, and conducts elections using technology that enables electronic transmission of results within days.

According to him, Nigeria, with only one-seventh of India’s population, has about 93 million registered voters, which is less than 10 percent of India’s voter base.

He added that with fewer than 20 percent of the polling stations and only about 1 percent of the political parties compared to India, it is deeply troubling that Nigeria still struggles to conduct elections, even when it records voter turnout below 20%.

The former Anambra State governor lamented that Nigeria still remains unable to consistently deliver free, fair, and credible elections or transmit results promptly, especially when compared to countries with far larger numbers than ours.

“The difference is leadership. In India, political leaders, legislators and judiciary work tirelessly for the welfare of their people and the future of their children, to do the right thing for the betterment of society, even amidst challenges.

“In Nigeria, many political figures instead implement policies that impoverish the people and threaten the future of our children.

“If we are to transform Nigeria, we must demand leaders who put the people first, govern with integrity, and plan for a better tomorrow,” he wrote.

Actress Tonto Dikeh And Her Ex-Husband, Olakunle Churchill, Pose With Their Son In His Lovely Birthday Photos

On Tuesday, February 17,  King Andre, the son of actress Tonto Dikeh, marked his birthday.

The actress shared lovely photos of herself and her ex-husband, Olakunle Churchill, posing with their son for his birthday photos.

The excited mum who shared the photos, wrote a heartfelt prayer for King Andre as he turns 10 today.

She wrote; ”Heavenly Father,

Today I stand as a parent under the authority of Your name, covering my son in the mighty blood of Jesus.

On this birthday, I declare that you are marked by God, chosen, protected, and untouchable by evil. No weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against you in judgment is condemned.

Any plan spoken in secret against you is exposed and destroyed. Any trap set for you shall catch fire before you get near it. Every evil gathering where your name is mentioned is scattered by God’s thunder.

Father, let every curse sent toward you return empty and powerless. Turn every plot against you into promotion. Let those who seek your downfall witness your rising instead.

I declare:

You will not die before your time.

You will not be cut short.

You will not be a victim of accident, violence, or betrayal.

Let God’s angels stand guard over you day and night. Wherever your name is mentioned for evil, let God’s name answer with fire and authority.

May those who wish you harm encounter God’s conviction and repent. And if they refuse, let their evil plans collapse upon themselves without touching you.

You shall flourish.

You shall excel.

You shall lead.

You shall live long and fulfill destiny.

I seal you in divine protection, divine favor, and divine purpose.

In Jesus’ mighty name,

Amen.”

Why I Stopped Attending Church – Nigerian Streamer, Carter Efe Opens Up

Popular Nigerian skit maker Carter Efe has revealed why he no longer attends church, explaining that he feels uncomfortable with how some pastors interact with their congregants.

During a livestream on Twitch, the entertainer said he became uncomfortable with how certain religious leaders form close ties with church members and later begin to ask them for money.

According to him, the relationship may start in a friendly way, with frequent calls and warm gestures, but it can later turn into repeated financial requests for personal needs.

He explained that in some cases, a pastor may begin by asking for small support, such as money for fuel or food items, and over time continue to collect money from the same person.

He said this pattern made him afraid and pushed him away from attending church services.

He said: “Pastor go dey show you love dey call you for afternoon and evening. Before you know pastor go dey tell you say ‘can you give me money for fuel?’ before you know pastor go tell you say ‘i want to cook beans, I need oil’.

“Before you know pastor go dey collect money for your hand na why I dey fear. Na why I no dey go church. I dey fear all this pastors, if them turn you to friend, them go just dey collect money for your hand…”
