If You Give Me $1 Billion To Join Politics, I Won’t – Bishop Oyedepo Declares

The Presiding Bishop of Living Faith Church Worldwide (LFC), Dr David Olaniyi Oyedepo, has reiterated that not even a $1 billion offer could persuade him to venture into politics.

Speaking during the impartation service of the church’s annual convocation, Shiloh 2025, the Bishop urged the church to focus on their area of calling, where they can rule their world and be enlisted in the end-time God’s army.

He said, “In 2015, I warned the church that trouble was coming. Didn’t trouble come?

“Partisan politics is off my calling. If you give me $1 billion to join politics, I won’t, because it’s off my course.

“The world is groaning in darkness, but as embedded in Romans 8:19, the world is waiting for the earnest manifestations of the children of God.

“The army of God is about to emerge to proffer solutions to national crises in the order of Joseph and Daniel. It is the day of what eyes have not seen or ears heard.”

I Worked In A Bet Shop Before Fame – Nigerian Singer, Fola Opens Up

Fola, the fast-rising Nigerian singer, has spoken about his humble beginnings, revealing that he once worked at his father’s betting shop before carving out a place for himself in the music industry.

Fola, who shared his story in an interview, said his passion for music began in high school where he played in a band but lacked the means to pursue it professionally.

“I started making music in high school obviously not professionally, but I had a band I was playing with,”
he said.

After graduation, the struggle became more pronounced. According to him, he did not own a phone at the time and relied on a friend’s device to make progress.

“It was difficult for me because I didn’t even have a phone, I was using my guy’s phone to do stuff,” he recalled.

Faced with limited opportunities in Ibadan, he decided to take up work at a small bet shop owned by his father.

“I checked my environment and it wasn’t encouraging so I started working at a bet shop owned by my dad. I worked as a manager and cashier so that I could raise some money for myself,” he said.

Fola later left Ibadan for Lagos, a move he described as the turning point in his journey. In Lagos, he met the late Mohbad, whom he credits for creating pathways that helped shape his career.

“I met Mohbad. Mohbad did a lot of things for me,” he said.

Through Mohbad, he was also introduced to Bella Shmurda, a relationship that led to an informal collaboration in 2022.

“Mohbad and Bella were very close so Mohbad was always telling Bella about me. I and Bella did a song together in 2022 without any paperwork and it was just great,” he said.

Despite the gap in their profiles at the time, Bella agreed to the collaboration without financial interest, a gesture Fola still speaks highly of.

“The gap was so much between us but Bella did it anyway even when he wasn’t going to make a dime out of it,” he added.

Looking back, the singer said he remains grateful for how far he has come.

“I thank God for where we are today,” he said.

Deontay Wilder Calls Anthony Joshua Vs Jake Paul Fight ‘Scripted’ Ahead Of Miami Showdown

Former WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder has sparked debate ahead of Anthony Joshua’s highly anticipated showdown with Jake Paul, hinting that the fight may have been carefully staged.

Speaking to FightHub TV before the fight on December 19 at the Kaseya Centre in Miami, Wilder questioned the authenticity of the heavyweight contest between the two-time unified champion Joshua and YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul.

The fight marks another bold step for Paul, who shocked the boxing world in 2024 when he defeated former heavyweight great Mike Tyson after the latter came out of retirement. However, Deontay Wilder believes stepping into the ring with an active and elite fighter like Joshua presents a completely different level of danger.

“In my opinion, I think it’s (the fight between Jake Paul and Anthony Joshua) scripted a little bit because of the weight difference, and Joshua is active. This is going to be the first time that we see (Jake) Paul fighting an active fighter,”
Wilder said.

“We’ve seen him with Mike Tyson, that was all fun, that was cute…but now you’re dealing with a real professional, so we’ll see how it ends up.”

The bout is expected to be a major commercial event, with Joshua and Paul reportedly set to earn at least $40 million each. The eight-round fight will be contested using 10-ounce gloves, while regulations state that Joshua must not weigh more than 245 pounds on fight night.

Despite the hype, the professionally sanctioned heavyweight contest has sparked serious concern within boxing circles. Naija News reports that Muhammad Ali’s grandson, Nico Ali, alongside former world champion Amir Khan, have both warned that Paul could be putting his life at risk by facing a fighter of Joshua’s calibre.

2027 Presidential Ticket: We’re Worried About Peter Obi, Atiku – ADC Admits

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has voiced concern over what it called the growing “conundrum” involving former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and former Anambra State Governor Peter Obi ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

The party’s National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, made the statement on Friday while speaking on Arise Television’s Morning Show, noting that the issue, though not the “greatest threat to democracy,” remains a significant challenge the party must address.

The presidential ambitions of both Atiku and Obi have cast doubts over the ADC coalition.

Abdullahi said the ADC is currently focused on strengthening its structures nationwide rather than discussing potential presidential candidates.

He explained that the party is working to establish a strong presence across the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory as part of its preparations for the election cycle.

According to him, while the Atiku-Obi question is one of the matters the party must eventually resolve, the ADC will prioritise building consensus when the time comes. If consensus fails, he added, the contest would be open to all aspirants.

Abdullahi clarified that the race is not centred solely on Atiku and Obi, as other individuals have also indicated interest in seeking the party’s presidential ticket, noting that the ADC is exploring multiple options, including discussions with other political parties, to form a formidable coalition ahead of 2027.

He said: “I may not describe the situation in such superlative terms to say that it’s the greatest threat to democracy at the moment. But is it a conundrum? Yes. Is it a challenge? Yes. Is it something we are concerned about? Yes.

“We have also tried to maintain that it’s not just about Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi. Nobody in the ADC at this time is having conversation about who the presidential candidates will be. So we have so much work to do – to establish our presence, real presence; to be in a position to contest election in all the 36 states of the Federation and FCT.

“So this has preoccupied us in the last couple of months, but we know that is an issue we have to deal with. The most important thing is at this time, when we get to that point, we try to engineer consensus – a consensus, which is an option for us, but if we are not able to do a consensus, then we’ll possibly just open it up for everyone to contest.

“And it’s not just about Atiku and Peter Obi, there are other people who are also interested in contesting the presidential race. You know, so we have to make allowance for that. It’s not a central case between Atiku and Peter Obi.

“I agree with you it’s an option. But there are also other options that we are looking at, even within the other political parties that we are also having conversation about how to build a formidable coalition to see what is possible.”

Men Are The Real Gold Diggers – Media Personality, Toke Makinwa Challenges Stereotypes On Marriage (Video)

Nigerian media personality and fashion influencer Toke Makinwa has sparked a new debate on gender, marriage, and finances by claiming that men, rather than women, are the biggest gold diggers.

Makinwa made the remarks on a new episode of her podcast, where she dissected the long-standing stereotype that women marry wealthy men for financial gain.

Speaking passionately, the media star criticised the way society weaponises the term gold digger against women. She argued that the accusation overlooks the increasing number of men who deliberately marry into affluent families.

“People are constantly always insulting women for knowing what they want,”
she said.

“You sit with all these podcasts as men, or you air your thoughts as some men and say women are dating men for money, women are doing this. The other gender are the biggest gold diggers in the world.”

According to her, many men boldly pursue and marry women from wealthy homes without facing the same level of scrutiny.

“They marry generational wealth, and they do it without shame,”
she added.

Despite her critique, Makinwa clarified that she harbours no resentment toward men who marry strategically for financial security.

“And I don’t hate on them,” she noted, stressing that marriage has always included elements of financial consideration on both sides.

To emphasise her point, she revealed that she would give her own brother similar advice.

“If my brother comes to me with two ladies and asks which one to marry, I will advise him to marry the one from a good financial background,”
Makinwa said.
