Napoli President Sets €200m Price Tag On Osimhen, Says Only PSG Can Afford Him

Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis has placed a price-tag on Victor Osimhen.
According to him, the only club that can afford Osimhen is Paris Saint-Germain.
According to him, Osimhen’s price is 200 million euros.
The striker is in negotiations to extend his contract and so far the Partenopei are resisting the idea of a release clause.
“The only club that can afford to take Osimhen away from us is Paris Saint-Germain,” De Laurentiis told Sport Mediaset.
“So if Nasser Al-Khelaifi wants to take out 200 or so, then we will wait and evaluate.”
It is reported no clubs have been prepared to go over €100m so far, especially a concern because the asking price was believed to be in the region of €150m.
This evening, De Laurentiis revealed it is even higher than that and this is why he is confident the Nigeria international will remain this season.
The €200m price-tag would make Osimhen one of the most expensive signings of all time, but would be one of the options if Kylian Mbappe were to leave.
Still only 24 years of age, the Nigerian was Capocannoniere last term with 26 goals in 32 Serie A appearances and helped Napoli win their first title in 33 years.

Osimhen Equals Obafemi Martins’ Champions League Record

Napoli striker, Victor Osimhen has reached a new milestone in Champions League.

He has now equaled Obafemi Martins’ record for the most goals scored by a Nigerian in a UEFA Champions League campaign.

Osimhen reached the feat after his dying minute’s equaliser in Napoli’s 1-1 draw against AC Milan in the second leg of their UCL quarter-final clash on Tuesday.

Obafemi Martins netted first time for another Italian side, Inter Milan in the UEFA Champions League in the 2004/2005 campaign.

Osimhen’s impressive performances have been crucial for Napoli in their quest for European glory this season.

Meanwhile, despite Osimhen’s record-equaling goal, his club were eliminated from the Champions League by their Italian rivals and seven-time winners, AC Milan.

Milan came into the game with a goal advantage from the first leg at San Siro. Rossoneri doubled their advantage 43 minutes into the second leg in Naples, thanks to Olivier Giroud who missed a penalty.

Napoli struggled against the disciplined-Milan defence with winger Khivcha Kwaratskhelia also missing an important penalty in the second half.

Osimhen’s last-minute header was not enough to lead Napoli to victory.

With Napoli out of the Champions League, Osimhen and the club will focus on the Italian Serie A where they currently hold a 14 points advantage.

Victor Osimhen Closes In On George Weah’s Record, Hails Liberian Legend

Victor Osihmen has reacted as he closes in on George Weah’s record in the Serie A.
The star is about to become Africa’s top scorer in the Italian topflight.
The Nigerian striker, who joined Napoli in the the summer of 2020, has now scored 45 league goals for the Partenopei, just one shy of Weah’s record.
Between 1995 and 2000, Liberia’s George Weah registered 46 Serie A goals for AC Milan in 114 matches, making him Africa’s outright top scorer in Italian football.
But in just three seasons, Nigeria’s Osimhen is set to overtake the record, but he admits that the former Ballon d’Or winner and current president of Liberia remains one of the greatest African players.
In a chat with Wole Opatola via Moor Sportz YouTube Channel, Osimhen said:
“He (Weah) has to be considered as one of the greatest African strikers that graced the Serie A. I want to continue to do my best and continue to do well for myself and for my team.

“At the end of the season, I think I stand a chance to surpass him or meet the record. I didn’t have the opportunity of watching him play, and I have never met him.

“But I’m closer to his son Timothy Weah. His father is a huge example for us so that an African can also win the most prestigious prize in world football.”

Guinea-Bissau Clash: We’ll Do Everything To Win Back Love Of Nigerians, Says Osimhen

World-famous Nigerian footballer, Victor Osimhen has made a promise to Nigerians.

He promised that the Super Eagles “will do everything” to win back the love of Nigerians.

The striker made the pledge ahead of the upcoming African Cup of Nations (AFCON) double-header qualifying games against Guinea-Bissau.

Osimhen spoke in a chat with the media team of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) on Wednesday.

The Eagles missed out on the 2022 World Cup to Ghana, and the team failed to fully bounce back from the disappointment.

The Jose Peseiro-led team lost five of the seven games since losing the World Cup ticket. The last defeat was a 4-0 rout against Portugal in November 2022.

Osimhen said the players have learned from past mistakes and are now “in high spirits” to do better and qualify for the next AFCON competition.

He added that the Eagles “are ready to give our hearts” against Guinea-Bissau and ensure Nigeria gets the victory.

“We are looking forward to it, and I’m happy to be back with the squad. We expect amazing results from the two-legged games against Guinea-Bissau. We are ready, and the spirit is high,” Osimhen said.

“And we are ready to give our hearts on Friday and also in the second leg. We will give everything to make sure the fans are entertained and that we get the win and qualify for the next AFCON.

“I want to say [to Nigerians] thank you very much for your support. Thank you very much for sticking with me and the Super Eagles. And for your support throughout the years. I know we might have let you down in the past, and I want to say we will do everything in our power to make sure we win your love back.”

Nigeria will play Guinea Bissau at the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja, on Friday before proceeding for the second leg of the tie at the Estadio 24 de Setembro in Bissau three days later.

The Eagles are leaders of Group A of the qualification round with six points from victories over Sierra Leone and Sao Tome and Principe.
