“I get grace wey dem no dey disgrace” – Portable brags following release from jail

Controversial musician, Portable boasts about his supernatural grace as he’s released from jail after meeting all the bail terms.

You may recall that the street-hop singer, after staying in jail for three days, was arraigned in court on a five-count charge of assault and stealing.

Following the court proceedings, Portable was granted a bailable bond of N300,000.

After meeting the bail terms, the singer was seen in a car with friends and family who had come pick him up from the station.

He boasted about the grace he possesses, noting that he cannot be disgraced because of the grace he carries.

Portable launched into a motivational speech, as he said that there’s no love in the streets and everyone should learn to be themselves.

Portable Remanded In Prison Pending Fulfillment of Bail Condition

Singer Habeeb Okikiola aka has been sent to Ilaro Prison pending fulfillment of his bail condition.
Recall that he was arraigned today by the Ogun state police before a Magistrate Court.
He was later granted bail by the court.
According to Daily Trust, the singer, however, was remanded at Ilaro Prison pending the time he fulfills his bail condition.
The Magistrate Court on Monday granted the controversial singer bail of N300,000, with two sureties from his immediate family.
Ogun State Police Command arraigned Portable on a three-count charge bothering on alleged assault and theft of musical equipment.
The state police command on Friday arrested the singer after refusing to show up after the 72-hour ultimatum given to him by the police to turn himself in.
The spokesman of the command, Muyiwa Adejobi on Saturday said portable has more than six charges to attend to, apart from resisting arrest and injuring a policeman.
He said, “He will be charged to court for beating up a guy in Ota, who filed a petition to CP Ogun.
 
“There are many pending cases of assaults on people and attacks, and he will be investigated because people have complained against him.
 
“So, there is no sentiment in law, let him appear in court, and allow the judge to listen to the charges against him. He has no constitutional immunity anyway.“

Court Grants Portable Bail

An Ogun State Magistrate’s Court sitting in Ifo on Monday granted bail to musician, Habeeb Okikiola aka Portable.
This followed his arraignment by the police on Monday.
Portable was detained at the police headquarters on Friday after ignoring many invites.
When he appeared before the court on Monday, Portable pleaded not guilty to all the charges against him.
Part of that charges read: “That you Badmus Habeeb Okikiola, aka Portable, and others now at large on the 28″ day of March 2023 at 11:00hrs at Odogwu Bar, Oke-Osa, Ilogbo, Ifo in the Ifo Magisterial District, did willfully cause or inflict physical injury on one Inspector Hammed Moshood ‘m’ with your elbow on his nose, which caused blood to gush out from his nose and thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under Section 4 (1) of the Violence against persons & Prohibition Laws of Ogun State of Nigeria, 2017.
 
“That you Badmus Habeeb Okikiola, M. aka Portable, on the same date, time and place in the aforementioned Magisterial District did resist to be arrested by Inspector Hammed Moshood ‘m’, ASP Gregory Iyoha ‘m’, ASP Kunle Badmus ‘m’ after serving you with Police Invitation Letter on the 20 day of January, 2023 for the offences you committed when they were about to discharge their duty with warrant of arrest on you thereby committed an offence contrary to and punishable under Section 197 of the Criminal Code Laws of Ogun State of Nigeria, 2006.”
Portable was also accused of assaulting one of his boys.
He has since been granted bail.

Portable To Be Arraigned In Court On Monday, April 3

Nigerian singer, Habeeb Okikiola aka Portable is set to be arraigned in court today, April 3rd.
According to the police, he will be arraigned before a magistrate court in Ota, Ogun state.
Recall that he was arrested by men of the state police command on Friday, March 31.
The spokesperson of the Nigeria Police Force CSP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, said that Portable will be facing at least a six-count charge, when he appears at the court following his unruly conduct and incitement against police officers last week Monday.

Portable To Face 6-count Charges In Court – Police

The Police Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Muyiwa Adejobi, has disclosed that controversial street artiste, Habeeb Okikiola aka Portable will be facing at least a six-count charge for assault and incitement against police officers.

In a Twitter post, the FPRO explained why the police were slow to act against MC Oluomo, who threatened some electorates during the 2023 elections but were swift to pick Portable up.

The Force PRO while responding to a user, tweeted, “I am sure u are very awake as I have addressed MCs case, but portable has more than 6 count charges to attend to, apart from resisting arrest and injuring a policeman.

“He will be charged to court for beating up a guy in Otta, who filed a petition to CP Ogun.

“There are many pending cases of assaults on people and attacks, and he will be investigated because people have complained against him.

“So, there is no sentiment in law, let him appear in court, and allow the judge to listen to the charges against him. He has no constitutional immunity anyway. Ire o.”

Portable had during the week, shared an Instagram Live video claiming that some police personnel stormed his bar at Sango Ota at the instance of an Internet fraudster.

The video, which has since gone viral, sparked some outrage online, which prompted the Ogun State Police Command to invite the singer to their office. However, Portable refused to show up.

However, the singer was picked up on Friday by policemen and is expected to spend the weekend in detention.

Upcoming artiste, Manny Monie has given an insight into the arrest of his former record label boss, Portable.

Recall that the controversial singer had resisted arrest by the police who had stormed his bar, as they revealed that there was a petition against him at their station.

Manny, who had a falling out with his boss in November after Portable assaulted him for allegedly using another distributor, admitted to being the one who had submitted the petition to the police demanding his arrest.

Following his arrest, Manny Monie said that Portable has always been his helper but acted like he was above the law and can’t be controlled.

He added that as a signee at ‘Zee Nation, Portable had done many things to him – although he didn’t spill what these things are.

I Didn’t Know People Who Came To My Bar Were Police Officers – Portable

Controversial singer, Habeeb Okikiola, popularly called Portable has opened up on why he did not go to the station with police officers after they stormed his bar to arrest him on Tuesday.

Recall that the Zazoo crooner was handed a 72-hour ultimatum by the Ogun State police command to report himself to the nearest police station after he was captured in a viral video resisting arrest by policemen.

Following the expiration of the ultimatum on Friday, the singer was arrested by the police and detained at the State Police headquarters in Eleweran, Abeokuta.

In a new video making the rounds on social media, Portable was seen trying to defend himself at the Police headquarters.

According to him, he didn’t know that the men who stormed his bar in the Sango Ota area to arrest him on Tuesday were police officers.

“I didn’t know the people that came to my bar were police officers,” he said while standing in front of a police chief.

Earlier, the Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, who confirmed Portable’s arrest on Friday, said the singer was arrested after failing to honour five invitations.

I’m smarter than those who went to school – Portable boasts

Embattled Nigerian singer, Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has boasted that he is smarter than most educated people.

The ‘Zazoo’ crooner, while reflecting on his life, said he has learned more in the streets than in the four walls of a classroom.

Portable made the remarks on his social media handles on Thursday, amidst his rift with the Nigeria Police.

In an Instagram post, the controversial singer wrote, “Zazuu I have learned more in the streets than in any classroom. I’m still smarter than you in the Zoo my future is in God’s hands. Ika of Africa Akoi Grace. Dr Zeh Nation many many inspiration.”

Recall that Portable was handed a 72-hour ultimatum by the Ogun State Police Command to report himself to the nearest police station after he was captured in a viral video resisting arrest by operatives of the force.

However, in a video shared on his Tiktok page, the singer explained that the man who brought the police to arrest him was his ex-worker and was into Internet fraud against his advice.

He claimed he disciplined the ex-staff after he refused to change his ways and sacked him.

Controversial Nigeran singer, Portable has lamented about the lies spread about him by people he renders help to.

The singer, who recently made the news for resisting arrest at his bar, lamented over how people keep treating him badly despite his goodwill to them.

He said that the boys whom he had housed, fed, and bought iPhones for are more focused on looking for ways to tarnish his image, rather than thinking of ways to better themselves.

Portable said that he had chased them out of his house since they cannot make better use of their time.

According to him, the friends are now spreading rumors that he does ritual to make money.

Assault: Police Give Portable 72-hour Ultimatum To Report Himself

Nigerian musician, Habeeb Okikiola aka Portable has been given 72 hours to report to the Ogun State Police Command.
Police said failure to do that will result in his arrest.
The state’s Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, confirmed the development in a statement on Wednesday.
Mr Oyeyemi said Portable had been informed to submit himself to the police or risk being arrested.
He also confirmed that Portable’s father had pleaded on his son’s behalf and promised to bring him to the station.
The PUNCH reports that two videos on Tuesday went viral showing the artiste cursing some officers of the  Force in Ogun state.
In the clip, Portable claimed that an internet fraudster had brought the police to his bar to arrest him and his staff members “for no reason”.
However, the Ogun state police spokesperson, Oyeyemi, explained that the police moved to arrest Portable after five invites were sent to him and another through his father, but he never honoured any of the summons.
He further said the Zazu crooner was invited following a petition by a young studio owner who claimed that Portable together with his aides beat him to stupor and locked his studio.
Oyeyemi said, “On receiving the petition, an invitation letter was sent to him five times but he refused to appear at the police station. Again, an invitation letter was sent to him through his father; he still did not come to the station.
 
“The police did not want a breakdown of law and order so his arrest was to be effected on Tuesday and now he started with all series of videos, saying all sorts of things. His father has been begging but we have told him that if he (Portable) refuses to turn himself in between now and Friday, he will be arrested.”
Meanwhile, The PUNCH reports that in 2022, Portable’s father had escorted him to the Police Headquarters at Eleweran, Abeokuta, after the singer refused to honour police invitation over alleged assault of a disc jockey in the Sango area of the state.
