When Paul and Peter Okoye of the legendary musical duo Psquare reunited in 2021 after a five-year separation, their fans were overjoyed.
Their reunion was greeted with the popping of champagne and wild jubilation from fans and friends within and outside the shores of the country. The duo even crowned the celebration with a 100-city reunion world tour across North America, Europe, the UK, the Middle East, Asia and Africa.
They followed it up with the release of their reunion single titled, “Jaiye”, which saw the Okoye brothers reclaiming their spot in the Nigerian music scene, as they blended their characteristic pop and dance sensibilities, with glorious amapiano soundscape to great effect.
However, while many people are certain that the revamped Psquare is getting back its groove, news has been flying around that the most loved musical group in Africa is locked in another battle of wit that may ruin the group.
Weeks back, one of the half brothers, Paul Okoye, a.k.a Rudeboy had confirmed the breakup of the group in an interview, blaming their latest cold war on his twin brother’s resolve to leave the group.
He also accused his twin brother of petitioning the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to arrest him.
According to him, while they came together again, he didn’t want their past mistakes to resurface. Unfortunately, it’s here again, and things seem to be falling apart between them. Tracing the genesis of their new feud, Rudeboy revealed that the group had creative differences on how they wanted to make their music.
Meanwhile, Peter Okoye has refuted the allegations, even as he expressed his concern about a secret company, Northside Music, supposedly owned by their brother Jude Okoye and his wife Ifeoma. In an open-letter, Mr P equally accused his twin brother of persistently undermining his contributions to PSquare, the group they co-founded.
While the duo’s feud is still festering, Peter Obi, Presidential candidate of Labour Party,LP, in last year’s election, days back visited Peter Okoye, after he also paid a similar visit to his half brother in the bid to resolve their differences. Maverick musician, Chary Boy, has also urged the Okoye brothers to reconcile their differences in the privacy of their homes, and avoid washing their dirty linen on social media.
In a lengthy Instagram post, Areafada as Charly Boy is fondly called by his fans wrote, “I publicly don’t get involved in people’s wahala even if I have all the facts. You guys should be able to lean on each other, never to be seen as up in arms against yourselves. If you have a twin by your side, you are indeed fortunate, because twins whether fraternal or identical, are lucky to have one another.
“Whatever the trouble may be, could you guys resolve it quietly without broadcasting it all over. It makes you guys look childish. Stop coming to the public space to expose what I believe you guys can solve in the privacy of your homes.”

Nigerian celebrities, the Peter of P-Square, popularly known as Mr. P and Falz, have slammed the Nigeria Police over their conduct in the ongoing governorship and State Houses of Assembly elections.
The 2023 Lagos State gubernatorial election was marred by a high level of violence and intimidation.
Some of the attacks on voters and electoral materials were reportedly carried out right in front of the security personnel.
Video clips of police officers being compromised are flying around on social media. The police had even described as a mere joke, the threat issued to non indigenes of Lagos by the State’s Parks Management Committee Chairman, Musiliu Akinsanya, popularly known as MC Oluomo.
Oluomo had in a trending video, threatened Igbos residing in Lagos State to either come out and vote for the All Progressives Congress, APC in the ongoing governorship elections or remain indoors.
Reacting, Falz tweeted: “I am so livid.
“This level of fuckery is unbelievable!
“A couple of Arise TV journalists were very badly beaten up at my polling unit.
“OF COURSE, in the presence of Police officers!”
“Mr P said, “We do not have police in Nigeria! All we have is thugs with uniforms! SHAME ON THEM!” more on 626Blaze…
The Okoye brother might finally be coming together after years of family issues, several business conflict and public fallouts.

The brothers fell out in September 2017 when Peter allegedly sent a termination letter to the group’s lawyer.

Peter was seen taking his twin brother’s kids (Paul) on a shopping spree in the United States last week and presently the twins and their elder brother Jude have started following each other back on Instagram.

Yes it is just Instagram, but its a step in the right direction as we hope for the re-union of the famed P-square group with Jude, that blessed our childhood with great songs and dance moves.

Maybe an end of the year performance from the brothers now Mr P and Rudeboy will clear the air and rumors surrounding the family.
