Marley has been fingered in his death, and many believe that he has a case to answer.

Following public outcry over the singer’s death, his corpse, which was buried immediately has been exhumed for autopsy, while many Nigerians in various cities and abroad have held processions in his honour.

Meanwhile, there are indications that entertainment personalities in Awka have concluded plans to hold a candle light walk in his honour and also to demand justice.

The protest is billed to hold on Sunday, at 10 am at the Ekwueme square in Awka.

Although there are no known sponsors, sources said the protest would attract government attention.

Meanwhile, an indigene of the state, Ude Uzochukwu who reacted to the protest said: “Be honest. Just be honest, if Mohbad had died through a road accident or chronic illness would you have planned a candle night in Awka?

“When MC Loph died did you do a candle light for him in Owerri? When Muna Obiekwe died did you do a candle light for him in Awka?

“It’s time we stop this madness and social bandwagon. This rubbish must stop and at once. Everything is not activism. Can you give the public one reason for this proposed candle night in Awka? Just one tangible reason.”

Aproko Doctor Explains Blood Stain On Mohbad’s Burial Site

Renowned internet sensation Dr. Chinonso Egemba, popularly known as Aproko Doctor, has made an effort to alleviate the confusion surrounding the discovery of fresh blood at the burial site of the late singer MohBad after his body was exhumed.

The Nation reported on Wednesday that police authorities, with the aid of health examiners, recovered his corpse to carry out an autopsy to ascertain the cause of his death.

Eyewitnesses at the gravesite reported seeing fresh blood and this has caused a stir online.

Using his medical expertise, doctor Chinonso Egemba gave an explanation for the development.

He wrote: “Your blood has a red colour because of a compound called haemoglobin. That’s what carries oxygen through your body.

“When blood is exposed to air, the cells that carry these haemoglobin die, and the haemoglobin becomes exposed to air abs starts to change colour to a darker one.

“This dark colour is because the haemoglobin is being changed to another compound called methemoglobin.

“Normally, when people die, they die with all the blood in their system but it doesn’t move because circulation has stopped, but it’s still there. Let’s not forget.

“Now, during embalming, this blood is usually replaced with another fluid. The question is, “Was he embalmed?”

“Even at that, you can’t get all the blood out! Some will still be left.

“We all want to know why it’s still red, right? There is one possible reason, in a closed compartment, there is very little air underground, so it’s possible that the haemoglobin is not exposed enough to change colour to the darker one.

“As to why it’s that much, we don’t have access to the body so we don’t know what other injuries we’re inflicted on his body, we remember his neck was in an unnatural position to fit in the coffin, it is possible that must have broken his vessels to cause some blood still in the system to leak out.

“All we can do is speculate. We will not be more knowledgeable than people with the body physically and examining it.”

Mohbad’s Inquest Must Not End Up Like Sylvester Oromoni’s – Olajengbesi

Pelumi Olajengbesi, the Abuja-based human rights lawyer, has sent a message to police authorities.

He urged police authorities and the Lagos State Government not to bungle the ongoing investigation into the controversial and grisly death of Nigerian singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad.

In a statement on Friday, Olajengbesi of Abuja-based law firm, Law Corridor, said the inquest into the harrowing death of the talented musician must not end up like previous investigations into similar incidents where justice wasn’t served.

The rights lawyer recalled similar controversial and unfortunate incidents, such as that of 12-year-old precocious Sylvester Oromoni Jr., a boarding student at Dowen College in Lekki, who died under questionable conditions in 2021.

In the same year, Olajengbesi said 14-year-old Karen-Happuch Akpagher, a student of Premiere Academy in Abuja, died controversially after her mother, Vihimga, said doctors discovered that she was raped and condom left in her private part.

Olajengbesi said, “Many other cases of similar unfortunate incidents abound all over Nigeria, but justice cannot be said to have been dispensed in most cases, especially in the cases of Sylvester and Karen-Happuch.

“Let it not be said that after the autopsy conducted on Mohbad’s remains on Thursday, September 21, 2023, justice won’t eventually be served by the 13-man police investigation committee on the matter.

“Of note, the cases of Sylvester, Karen-Happuch, and Mohbad bring to the fore, the dangers and failure of not addressing the anti-social behaviour of bullying and cultism in our society. Greater penalties should be imposed to deter any future repeat of these crude and unacceptable behaviours.

“In the case of Mohbad, fingers have been pointed in the direction of certain persons. The police authorities and the Lagos State Government should not spare these persons in their probe.

“The investigation must be thoroughly done. Culprits should be made to face the music, no matter how highly placed or connected they are. There should be no scared cows.

“Beyond playing to the gallery because of public outcry, the police must deliver. Justice must be served. For social misbehaviour only abounds when justice is asleep. And this is dangerous for our nation.”
