Kolapo Omotosho, the Big Brother Naija Season 10 finalist, has clarified his relationship with the show’s winner, Opeyemi Ayanwale, popularly known as Imisi, stating that their connection is purely platonic.
Speaking with journalists after the prize presentation at MultiChoice headquarters in Lagos, Kola said Imisi was “just my sister” and someone he deeply cared about in a non-romantic way.
“Imisi is just my sister, and someone I care about in a platonic way. I’m happy that someone I care about the most in the house won. Her win is my win,” he said.
“I knew she cared about me because she always looked out for me. Even when we were not in the same team, she always made sure I was okay. She’s my sister and will continue to be my sister,” he added.
Kola, who described himself as “true to myself,” noted that while he initially desired to win, he was content seeing someone close to him clinch the N150 million grand prize.
“I always thought I wanted to win, but at the end of the day, I was open to my sister, Imisi. She rooted for me. I’m grateful I have a sister,” he said.
He, however, declined to discuss his relationship with another housemate, Dede, saying, “I don’t want to talk about my relationship with Dede.”
The reality star also spoke about his biggest personal challenge during the show, revealing, “My challenge is not talking to my parents.”
Meanwhile, the winner, Imisi, also described Kola in glowing terms, confirming that their connection was purely brother-sister.
“Yes, he’s like a brother to me. Nothing beyond that,” Imisi said.
Big Brother Naija Season 10 winner, Imisioluwa Ayanwale, has expressed that she is still overwhelmed by her victory, describing the experience as truly life-changing.
In an appreciation post shared on X (formerly Twitter) on Sunday, the 23-year-old reality TV star said the past week since being crowned the winner has been surreal.
“Exactly one week ago today, y’all changed my life for good forever. I am grateful to God and to all of you. I am struggling to understand what has truly hit me,” she wrote.
The fashion designer and actress added that some of her emotions were visible during the winner’s party, clips of which had circulated online.
“Most of you can see that in some of the clips that made it to the internet from the Winner’s party last night,” she said, adding, “It is my prayer that we will all win together in life, because this journey is forever.”
She also appreciated MultiChoice, DStv Nigeria, and GOtv Nigeria for the platform that propelled her into the limelight.
Imisi, who hails from Oyo State, made history as one of the youngest winners in the show’s history. Known for her humour, authenticity, and emotional depth, she captured viewers’ hearts with her relatability and resilience throughout the 10-week season.
Before her BBNaija stint, Imisi ran a small fashion brand and had dreams of expanding her craft nationwide.
She had also shared personal stories during her time in the house, including overcoming loss and rebuilding her confidence.
Her journey from being one of 29 contestants to emerging the last housemate standing has been described by fans as a story of perseverance and grace.
Since her win, the 23-year-old has received massive public support, with fans celebrating her humility and originality, traits many believe contributed to her victory.
Nollywood actor and filmmaker, Yomi Fabiyi, has clarified that his public support for Big Brother Naija Season 10 winner, Imisi, was driven by genuine loyalty and gratitude, rather than personal interest or financial gain.
Speaking in an interview with Saturday Beats, Fabiyi said his relationship with Imisi predates her reality TV fame, describing himself as a “father figure” to the young star within the movie industry.
“I am an adult and like a father to her in the film industry. She was the only housemate I knew personally. Everything I do, she supports.
“For instance, when I had my housewarming, she stayed throughout and made sure the event went well. Supporting her during the show was simply the right thing to do,” he explained.
Fabiyi also revealed that Imisi’s entertainment journey began under his mentorship at his film academy.
“Imisi was one of my students at my film academy, and beyond that, she has always been supportive of me and my son. We used to live in the same area in Ikorodu, and she’s been helpful long before the fame,” he said.
When asked whether he had any fears about showing support for her, given that some people he once helped had turned against him, the actor noted that he does not allow such experiences to influence his actions.
“I don’t think about things like that. Of course, in today’s social media world, some people distance themselves from those who helped them just to appear self-made. They don’t want anyone to have bragging rights over their success,” he said.
Fabiyi, however, emphasized that he remains unbothered by such behavior.
“No matter the level of ingratitude, I don’t let it get to me. I’ll keep doing what’s right.”
Big Brother Naija Season 10 winner, Imisi, has revealed that she ended her relationship with her boyfriend, Hakeem, a few weeks before the show’s audition.
She made the disclosure during a post-show interview with Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, the host.
While describing the breakup as “hectic,” she refused to disclose the reason for their separation.
Imisi, who noted that she entered the house broken, stated that her ex-boyfriend influenced her “dressing and style because that’s what he liked.”
“The Imisi you saw on social media was not really me. My dressing and style were influenced by my ex, Hakeem, because that’s what he liked. He liked when I wore makeup and frontals, so I did that to please him because he was my safe place. He liked girls who looked girly, and he was the only person I had at the time.
“But we broke up on April 4, before I went for the audition in May. It was really a hectic breakup, and I didn’t have the time to heal before the show.”
Imisi, the winner of Big Brother Naija Season 10, has refuted allegations that she employed a pity strategy to win the hearts and votes of viewers.
She revealed on Arise TV that she had only a few days to pack for the show after receiving her acceptance email, and didn’t have time to plan her approach.
Imisi stated that she brought whatever clothes she had on hand and didn’t expect to be picked for the show.
She emphasised that her authenticity was genuine, and she didn’t manipulate emotions to win over the audience.
With conviction, Imisi asserted that her journey in the Big Brother house was unscripted, and her connection with the audience was real.
“I didn’t come in with a pity strategy. I didn’t even believe I was going to be picked for the show. When I got the mail, I had only a few days to pack.
“I was in Ijebu at the time, and I brought all the costumes I took to that location to my sister, then we started planning,” Imisi said.
Imisi was announced winner of BBNaija season 10 on October 5, 2025 by the show host, Ebuka Obi-Uchendu.
Big Brother Naija Season 10 winner, Opeyemi Ayanwale, popularly known as Imisi, has said her victory in the just concluded edition of the reality show was shocking to her.
In a post-show interview with Arise TV, Imisi explained that she wasn’t expecting to win and was not properly dressed for the occasion when she stepped on the stage on Sunday.
She also talked about dealing with anxiety just before she was announced as the winner.
“Winning the reality show was shocking to me. Sincerely, I was not expecting to win.
“Before I got the show, I was tensed just hearing the crowd chant my name. I was shocked when I was announced the winner.
“I wore crocs to the stage because I am not comfortable in heels. I did not even plan for the live show,” she expressed.
Recall that Imisi beat her closest competitor, Dede, by wide margin to emerge as the winner of Big Brother Naija Season 10 on Sunday.
She received her grand prize of N150 million, comprising N80 million in cash and a brand-new Innoson SUV on Tuesday.
Dede Ashiogwu, the first runner-up of the recently concluded Big Brother Naija Season 10, has refuted claims that regional bias influenced the outcome of the reality show.
The “Ten Over Ten” edition wrapped up on Sunday with Imisi emerging as the winner and walking away with the N150 million grand prize.
Ossai Ovie Success, Senior Special Assistant on Media to the Delta State Governor, took to his official X account to allege that the show was manipulated.
He claimed that Dede was unfairly denied victory because the organizers wanted to prevent another Delta State native from winning, after Kellyrae, also from Delta, clinched the previous season’s title.
In his post, Ossai argued that Dede made her state and fans proud and deserved the top spot, threatening to take legal action against the show’s organizers over what he described as “rigged voting.”
Reacting to the controversy during the prize presentation ceremony held on Tuesday at MultiChoice office in Lagos, Dede debunked the claims, stressing that Imisi’s win was legitimate and well-earned.
“I don’t believe it had anything to do with the region. It’s simply about the votes, she got the highest number, and she won. She truly deserves it,” Dede stated.
Looking ahead, the Delta-born reality star revealed her intention to pursue a career in the entertainment and creative industries, especially in acting.
“Everything amazing, everything we don’t know, everything we’ve never seen, that’s what I’m bringing,” she said confidently.
