Burna Boy, the world-famous Afrobeat musician, has revealed that he is now richer than most of the Nigerian politicians and oil tycoons he once looked up to.

He made this known in a post on his Instagram story on Saturday, while advising his followers not to underestimate those who are younger than them.

Revealing his financial status, the singer explained “Imagine growing up and only oil men and politicians were the ones really getting the real money followed by the G boys. Music wasn’t even in the conversation when money was the topic.

Nigeria Is A Collateral Damage – Burna Boy Says

Damini Ogulu, the world-famous Nigerian music superstar, who is better known as Burna Boy has described the country as “collateral damage” in a candid reflection on the nation’s current state.

Speaking in an interview with Tidal on Friday, the African Giant shared why the country’s cultural diversity has become a bane against its growth.

The Grammy-winning artist also expressed his concern over the socio-political challenges facing Nigeria, emphasising that the nation and its citizens often suffer the consequences of poor governance and external influences.

Burna Boy’s remarks highlight his continued outspokenness on issues affecting Nigeria, as “he urged for more accountability and better leadership to prevent the country from being treated as expendable in global and local affairs.”

His comments have sparked discussions across social media, with many echoing his sentiments about the need for change.

Burna Boy shared his thoughts about how Nigeria as a country came to be during the interview with Tidal.

He noted that Nigeria as a country was never meant to exist and it is “nothing but the result of a bad business enterprise entered into by the British”, nothing “but the collateral damage of a business deal gone south.”

He noted that “the area called Nigeria was first known as the Niger Area before the Royal Niger Company acquired it.

“After it was acquired, the Royal Niger Company decided to amalgamate the North and South as against running them as separate entities, and it was at this point that the country Nigeria was birthed.

The Afro-fusion star noted that “when the amalgamation was going to happen, the Niger Company and the British who sold Nigeria didn’t take into consideration those living in the region.

“The two entities that sold and bought the Niger Area, the people living there were nothing but collateral damage.”

Burna Boy Mocks South Africans After A White South African Won The Miss SA Pageantry Following The Withdrawal Of Chidinma Adetshina

Burna Boy, the world-famous Nigerian superstar singer, has mocked South Africans.

The singer mocked them while reacting to a white South African woman winning the Miss South Africa pageantry following a controversy that led to the withdrawal of Chidinma Vanessa Adetshina.

Mia Le Roux is the new Miss South Africa. The Free State-born model was crowned at a ceremony held at the Sun Bet Arena at Time Square in Menlyn, Pretoria.

Mia Le Roux is the first Miss SA Winner who is deaf & has a cochlear implant. She will be the first contestant at the Miss Universe 2024 in Mexico with such a disability to take part in the competition.

For her tenure, she walks away with the Mowana crown, a lavish fully furnished apartment, a Mercedes Benz, R1 million and more prizes.

Reacting to the development, Burna Boy wrote “So after all that”, adding laughter emojis.

His reaction is coming after Chidnma Adetshina, a 23-year-old law student who said her father is Nigerian while her mum is a South African of Mozambican descent, withdrew from the pageant over controversies about her nationality.

Some South Africans had questioned whether Chidinma was really a citizen of the country and took to social media to ask for her to be removed from the pageant.

SA Home Affairs then began an investigation into Chidinma’s roots and discovered that the identity of an “innocent” South African mother “may have been stolen” by Adetshina’s mother. This prompted Chidinma to withdraw from the competition.
