Popular Nigerian singer, Rema has urged musicians to stop their fans when they instigate them against senior colleagues called OGs of the industry.
OG stands for ‘Original Gangster’, an internet slang used to describe an extraordinary person. The term describes someone considered a pioneer or leader in a particular field.
Reacting in a recent interview, the Afrorave pioneer, who was asked to clarify his alleged beef with Davido, explained nothing like that existed.
He referred to Davido as an OG, stating he never disrespects him or the others.
While speaking, the ‘Calm Down” smash hit maker made it known that it doesn’t ever augur well with him whenever his fans tried to pit him against any OG.
He explained: “I have so much respect for the OGs in the game and I don’t like my fans comparing & trying to put me against them.
“The peace among Afrobeats artistes is one of the reasons why the genre is where it is today.”
“I always caution my fans when I see them comparing me to my Big Bros and I expect every artiste to do same when they see their fans trying to spark up problematic conversations,” he added.
