Days After Leaving D’Prince’s Label, Ruger Says, “I Denounce Every Loyalty To Some Godfather”

Michael Adebayo Olayinka, better known by his stage name Ruger, is a Nigerian singer who has broken from godfathers.

After departing from Jonzing World Records, which is controlled by D’Prince, the younger brother of renowned music executive Don Jazzy, he made the criticism.

On February 6, 2023, Ruger announced his departure from Jonzing World on Instagram. He expressed his gratitude to D’Prince and Jonzing World, but he also stated that it was time for him to place a bet on himself.

In a recent freestyle named “Blownboy,” which was published under his own label, Blown Boy Entertainment, the singer said that he was now in charge and formally criticized godfatherism.

In the freestyle video that he uploaded to his YouTube website on Friday, he sang, “I denounce every loyalty to some godfather, this year I’m about me.”
