People Are Expecting Me To Cry But I Won’t Go Hungry – Peller Reacts As TikTok Bans Night Livestream In Nigeria (Video)

Habeeb Hamzat, the popular Nigerian TikToker, who is better known as Peller, has dismissed claims that the nighttime ban on TikTok live streams in the country will hurt him financially.

Earlier, 626Blaze reported that TikTok temporarily restricted access to its LIVE feature for users in Nigeria during late-night hours, issuing an in-app notice to creators as part of what it described as an ongoing safety investigation.

At exactly midnight (Nigerian time) on Sunday, the platform pushed out a system notification titled “LIVE⚫ Notices – TikTok LIVE Update in Nigeria.”

The message read, “We’re temporarily limiting LIVE late at night in Nigeria as part of our investigation to ensure our platform remains safe and our community stays protected.”

The temporary measure also blocked Nigerian users from viewing LIVE broadcasts originating from other countries during the restricted hours.

Reacting in a video posted on his Instagram page on Monday, Peller said many critics expected him to break down or “go hungry” because the live night sessions had been suspended.

According to him, such assumptions underestimate the diversity of his income sources and the strength of his brand outside TikTok.

“People are expecting me to be crying after TikTok banned live in Nigeria, thinking I’ll go hungry. I’m an ambassador to numerous brands, and none of my endorsements is less than ₦40 million,” he said.

Peller stressed that he works with several reputable brands and has built a digital presence that is not dependent solely on TikTok earnings.

He added that while the platform has contributed to his visibility, his financial stability comes from long-term partnerships and endorsements.

The content creator also reiterated that he regularly gives back to his fans, noting that he often redistributes gifts he receives during livestreams through giveaways.

Peller also highlighted TikTok’s role in youth empowerment, saying the platform has helped many young Nigerians grow their audience and income far faster than on other social media platforms.

“Many people will grow on TikTok. You can’t grow on Instagram the same way. Before you make it there, you will post plenty… TikTok is easier to grow on,”
he said.

Commenting on the ban and on previous calls to restrict nighttime livestreams, Peller argued that many critics do not understand how significantly TikTok contributes to the livelihoods of emerging creators.

“Those girls who want them want to ban the TikTok night livestream, you will still be on TikTok every day,”
he said, warning that such restrictions could disrupt engagement and income for thousands of users.

He urged authorities and platform managers to consider the economic impact of livestreaming, noting that TikTok remains one of the most accessible platforms for young Nigerians seeking visibility, income, and digital opportunities.

DNA Saga: Late Singer, Mohbad’s Father Accuses His Wiwdow, Wunmi Of Secret Test, Questions Her Silence On Results

Joseph Aloba, father of the late Nigerian singer Mohbad, has denied allegations from the legal team of Mohbad’s widow, Cynthia Wunmi Adebanjo, that he attempted to manipulate the DNA testing of her son, Liam Aloba.

Aloba stated that, contrary to the allegations, he never attempted to delay the DNA process, but rather initiated the DNA application ab initio.

He disclosed this in a letter issued over the weekend by his legal counsel, Oladayo Ogungbe.

Ogungbe stated that the recent application he filed was aimed at guaranteeing transparency, neutrality, and court-supervised integrity in the collection, handling, and analysis of DNA samples.

Recalling the incident that transpired during the hearing on December 2, 2025, Ogungbe stated that he directly confronted Adebanjo with credible information indicating that she had already conducted the test.

He said, “She did not deny the allegation when confronted before the Honourable Magistrate.”

He wondered why she had not made the results public if truly she wasn’t concealing some facts about the DNA process.

Ogungbe said: “Her silence in the face of such a grave allegation raises concerns, especially because she has not released the results publicly, results which, according to information available, appeared suspicious and unfavourable, hence her refusal to disclose them. If she had full confidence in the paternity of the child, there would be no need to secretly conduct a DNA test. This act alone contradicts the narrative that she seeks transparency.”

Regarding the infidelity allegations, Aloba told the Court that his late son, Ilerioluwa Aloba (Mohbad), had confided in him regarding the Respondent’s alleged unfaithfulness.

He noted that when the issue was raised in the court, “the Respondent did not deny it as she was evasive in her response.

“Mr Aloba explained that his intentions toward her were honourable and fatherly until he became aware of the troubling revelations and shortly thereafter, Mohbad died under circumstances still shrouded in secrecy.”

He noted that the respondent’s refusal to deny both the secret DNA test and the accusation of infidelity renders the manipulation narrative being peddled in the purported Press Release by the Respondent’s Counsel inconsistent with her own conduct.

The Applicant’s counsel therefore urged that the DNA be conducted at DNA Diagnostics Center, an internationally renowned accredited DNA Testing Laboratory Center with its headquarters in Fairfield, Ohio, United States, and ORCHID CELLMARK, an internationally renowned DNA Center situate at Unit G1 Valiant Way, i54 Business Park, Wolverhampton, Staffordshire, United Kingdom, at the expense of the Applicantoto guarantee the integrity of the result.

He justified his request for the DNA test to be conducted at international laboratories and for Lagos State officials to be excluded from the process, citing events that occurred during the Coroner’s Inquest into the death of his son, where the result returned as inconclusive.

“This alarming inconsistency justifies the Applicant’s insistence on transparent, internationally supervised DNA testing. Mr Aloba has repeatedly affirmed his absolute trust in the Honourable Court, but he also maintains a reasonable reservation regarding the integrity of certain State officials involved in the chain of custody of DNA samples,”
he said.

How BBNaija Star, Queen Mercy Reacted After A Follower Accused Her Of Ruining Her Marriage

Drama erupted when a follower emotionally accused BBNaija star Queen Mercy of failing to protect her marriage, alleging that she was being labelled a prostitute in the US and described as someone who couldn’t stay with a man.

The follower wrote that they were “tired of defending her,” heartbroken over the end of her marriage, and now being mocked by people they had argued with in Queen’s defence.

A follower responded by addressing the commenter directly, asking them to stop kicking someone who is already down and reminding them that she’s going through a difficult moment.

She then explained that her last visit to the United States was back in 2017/2018 — long before fame — when she stayed briefly with her aunty in Houston before heading to Florida for a pageant. At the time, she was a regular pageant contestant with no visibility, so she questioned where exactly anyone in the US supposedly saw her to label her a prostitute.

Queen admitted her family would be upset that she responded publicly, but she felt the need to clarify the situation.

She said she’s been called all sorts of names since she left Big Brother Naija, and people keep acting like she committed a crime on the show. According to her, if another All Stars season ever comes up, she’s ready to return without fear.

Addressing claims that she posted online to spite her child’s father, Queen explained that she had never posted him before. When she shared her wedding pictures, she was simply excited—just like any bride would be. She insisted she never intended to “pepper” anyone.

On accusations that she isn’t ready for marriage because of the roles she plays in movies, Queen stated that she has featured in only a few films and has never acted deep kissing or overly romantic scenes. She challenged anyone who believes otherwise to bring proof.

She also said people drag her for dancing and twerking on TikTok, but dancing makes her genuinely happy, so she won’t stop.

Queen concluded by saying being a “good girl” never paid her.

I Have Never Dated Anyone Who Was Violent Towards Me — Nigerian Actress, Nkechi Blessing Says

Nkechi Blessing Sunday, the Nollywood actress, has voiced her annoyance at online strangers who keep pressuring her to get married.

The actress shared her experience during an interview on The Honest Bunch Podcast, where she opened up about her past, family background, and why she refuses to succumb to marriage pressure from the public.

Speaking about her upbringing, she said, “I have never dated anyone who has been violent toward me. I can say for a fact that my father used to hit my mum, but that didn’t make me feel like any man should hit me.”

She went on to recount a difficult relationship from younger years.

“Even though one of my exes when I was growing up used to beat me—his name is Valentine. My mum would lock him up at the police station. And when she did, I would go there and tell the police, ‘It’s because my mother wants me to leave him for another man, that’s why she locked him up,’ even though it wasn’t true.”

According to her, her mother always took a firm stance.

“The police would call my mum, and she would tell them, ‘Lock am join there.’ Before you know it, play-play, they would lock me too.”

She added that her mother was a strong-willed woman who believed no one should force marriage on her.

“Do you know who my mother was? I would stay in the cell for two days, and on the third day, she would come herself and ask them to release us. She would say, ‘Leave man.’ Before she died, she never pressured me to get married.”

Nkechi stressed that marriage pressure has never come from her family but from outsiders who have no connection to her.

“I didn’t come from that kind of family. It’s only these online people that are not related to me that will be telling me to go and marry. Like you’re my father or mother.”

How I Landed A Role In 2Baba’s ‘African Queen’ Music Video – Actress Yvonne Jegede Opens Up

Nollywood actress Yvonne Jegede has told the surprising story of how she landed a role in 2Baba’s iconic “African Queen” music video, saying the opportunity came when she least expected it.

In an interview with BellaNaija, Jegede recalled that she was on the set of Missing Angel when fate intervened.

“I was sitting beside Uncle Charles when his phone rang. Charles Nova turned to me and said Uzor, the director of African Queen, wanted to speak to me,” she said.

According to her, the call felt random and abrupt. “He said, ‘I want you to do a music video for me tomorrow.’ I was like, music video?” she recalled.

Jegede explained that she was initially uninterested, having previously appeared in videos where all she did was dance.

“I said me I don’t want to do a music video o,” she said, adding that the director pressed further, hinting that the project was the video for African Queen by 2Face (now 2Baba). “I sha said I don’t want,” she added.

It took a phone conversation with a friend later that evening to change her mind.

“Before I could even finish saying African Queen, my friend was already quivering on the other end of the phone,” she said.

He urged her repeatedly to grab the opportunity, emphasizing how much he loved the song — one she had not even heard at the time.

Motivated by his enthusiasm, Jegede called the director back around 9 p.m. “I told him, ‘Okay, I think I’ll do the video,’ and he gave me all the information,” she said.

That same night, she hurried to Surulere to prepare for the shoot.

“There was a studio and a salon. When I got to the salon, they already knew someone was coming to get a specific hairstyle. After they were done, I took a bike to the location,” she narrated.

The video shoot that followed would go on to mark the beginning of her career. Jegede has since grown into one of Nollywood’s recognized faces, but the actress says the journey truly began from that iconic moment.

“And that was the beginning of my career, with the African Queen video,” she said.

A Man Stalked Me For 9 Years, Called Me 50 Times Daily – Nigerian Actress, Bimbo Akintola Reveals (Video)

Nollywood actress Bimbo Akintola has revealed a frightening chapter of her life when she was stalked by the same man for more than nine years.

In an interview with Chude, she explained that during that time, she received up to 50 phone calls daily and disturbing messages that described what the man wanted to do to her.

Akintola said she kept the ordeal from her family, fearing her mother would panic.

The harassment was relentless, with messages arriving every day or every other day, causing her immense stress and fear.

She revealed that, without explanation, the stalking suddenly stopped one day, leaving her without closure or understanding of why it ended after nearly a decade.

She said: “I had some guy that stalked me for a long time. It was bad. I don’t know how it ended. I just noticed one day that he had stopped sending messages. This was over 9 years. He was stalking me for over 9 years. And he would send me messages about the things that he wanted to do or the things that he would do, it was bad.

“He made me miserable. He would call 50 times a day. He would send messages, graphic, right? How he loved me and how I was it for him and how the things he would do. I Didn’t See Potentials In Him – Kcee Reveals Why He Refused To Sign Flavour, Speaks About Their ‘Beef’ (Video)

Kingsley Okonkwo, the famous Nigerian singer, who is popularly known as Kcee, has talked about the long-rumoured rift with his colleague, Flavour.

Recall that the duo engaged in a social media skirmish in 2024 after Flavour shaded someone online for allegedly copying his musical style.

While Flavour did not mention anyone, Kcee caught the shade and responded accordingly. He warned Flavour to stop trying to gatekeep Igbo cultural music, adding that he was in the music industry before him.

Speaking in a recent interview with Yanga FM Lagos, Kcee said his first encounter with Flavour was years ago when popular talent manager Soso Soberekon brought him to him to sign to his record label.

The Limpopo crooner explained that he refused to give Flavour a record deal because he didn’t see potentials in him then.

He, however, said he believes that their rift is not because of the rejection, but superiority complex. He emphasised that some of his colleagues believe that he is not talented because he doesn’t brag about his talent.

“Till now, I don’t understand the reason for his beef with me, especially that incident where he alleged that someone was copying him. The truth is that when some people had written you off, hoping that you would be stagnant, and you work hard and get to a level they don’t expect you to reach, that was what happened.

“I came into the music industry before Flavour. Soso Soberekon brought him to me years ago to sign to my record label. I was already driving exotic cars and balling before he came to Lagos. I told Soso I can’t sign Flavour because I didn’t see potentials in him at that time. It wasn’t because I have something against him.

“I don’t think that was why he is holding a grudge against me. But time shall tell. A lot of my colleagues underrate my talent and my humility also contributed to that. Because I don’t brag. I don’t need it. But as I always say, time will always prove them wrong. My work always prove every doubter wrong. Some of those who doubted me in the past have come to apologise to me and admitted that they were wrong about me,” Kcee said.
