I Got Expelled From University For Belonging To Cult – Daniel Etim-Effiong Reveals

Nollywood actor Daniel Etim-Effiong has opened up about a difficult experience during his university years that significantly shaped both his life and his faith.

The actor revealed in an interview with Taymesan that he was once expelled from the Federal University of Technology, Minna, after being wrongly accused of cultism.

He explained that the incident shocked him deeply and left him emotionally broken, especially because he believed he had done nothing wrong.

After leaving school, Etim-Effiong moved to Jos in Plateau State.

He said the new environment gave him a sense of freedom, but that freedom came with anger and confusion.

During that period, he picked up habits such as smoking and womanizing, actions he linked to frustration and disappointment with life.

He explained that the situation affected his relationship with God.

At the time, he was actively involved in Christian activities and was a member of a student fellowship.

He had expected support when the accusation surfaced, but according to him, the fellowship refused to stand by him or protest his expulsion.

The lack of backing from people he trusted left him hurt and discouraged.

As time passed, the actor said he gradually stopped attending church, feeling abandoned and let down during one of the most difficult moments of his life.

He said: “That same year I got expelled from the university for belonging to cult, for belonging to confra. Which confra? I was a church boy.

“It was in Jos I started smoking, it was in Jos I started womanizing, because I was free and it was just like I was almost like angry at God.

“I’m like ‘Why did you let this thing happen to me? like I was an SU, you didn’t even defend me.

“I told the fellowship in FUTMINNA then that ‘You guys should protest.’”

Nollywood Actress, Doris Ogala Reportedly Arrested After Calling Out Pastor Chris Okafor

Nollywood actress Doris Ogala has reportedly been arrested following a heated online dispute connected to her recent allegations against Lagos-based pastor Chris Okafor.

The arrest occurred on Saturday, December 20, 2025, during a live video session in which Ogala was speaking with an online personality.

While the livestream was ongoing, she confirmed that police officers were present inside her home.

She was also heard scolding a woman identified as Charity for allowing people into the house despite earlier warnings.

The interviewer advised her to keep her phone active and asked whether the officers had a warrant.

Shortly after the incident, comedian and former Big Brother Naija housemate Dee One announced on Instagram that Ogala had been arrested.

He stated that he had earlier cautioned the actress and added that she would now have to answer questions in court over the matter.

The situation followed a social media post by Ogala, in which she shared an image allegedly showing the cleric in a private setting.

In the post, she accused him of deceit and claimed she had video evidence to back her claims.

The controversy gained more attention after the pastor recently married a woman identified as Pearl earlier in the week.

The wedding reportedly went ahead despite Ogala’s online accusations, which included claims of betrayal, emotional manipulation and a broken promise of marriage after what she described as a long-term relationship.

Over the past few days, Ogala had shared emotional videos online in which she accused the cleric of damaging her life.

She claimed the relationship began around 2017 and alleged that she ended her previous marriage at his request, only to be left distressed after the relationship suddenly ended.

I Am Not Looking For Marriage, It Is Overrated – Nollywood Actress, Yvonne Jegede Says (Video)

Yvonne Jegede, the popular Nollywood actress, has disclosed her stance on marriage, claiming that it is “overrated.”

The 42-year-old movie star said she is open to remarriage but not looking for it.

Jegede disclosed this in a recent interview with Naija FM Lagos.

“I am open to remarriage if it comes, but I am not looking for it. I have learnt not to say ‘never’,”
she explained.

“I think marriage is overrated. A lot of people who dated for 10 to 15 years, got married and they broke up within 2 to 3 years. Sometimes, you wonder why such couples didn’t just remain unmarried. Because when they add the marriage tag, a lot of intolerance gets in the way.

“I think it is better to find who you love and just cohabit with them,” she added.

Recall that Yvonne Jegede’s marriage to her colleague, Olakunle Abounce Fawole, ended in 2019 after less than a year.

She cited financial imbalance and her ex-husband’s inability to handle or respect her as reasons for their separation.

Jegede also revealed in a previous interview that she was the primary provider and regretted choosing love over financial stability.

BBNaija Star, Tacha Blasts Content Creator, Lawrence Alabi Over Arrest Of ‘Banger Boy’

Natacha Akinde, a former Big Brother Naija housemate and media personality who is popularly known as Tacha, has criticized content creator Lawrence Alabi for turning the arrest of an upcoming creator and social media troll, known on 𝕏 as “Small Ralph” (@Churlah), into online content.

Small Ralph is also called ‘Banger Boy’ online due to incessant trolling and social media attacks.

The controversy began after Lawrence Alabi arrested ‘Banger Boy’ over alleged cyberbullying and defamatory posts targeted at him and his wife.

While many netizens agreed that Alabi had the right to seek legal redress, the situation quickly escalated after videos of ‘Banger Boy’s’ arrest surfaced online, with some Nigerians stating that he was being humiliated.

Reacting to the situation, Tacha, in a post via 𝕏,  condemned the humiliation of ‘Banger Boy’, insisting that while the law should take its course, public shaming was unnecessary and dangerous.

According to the reality TV star, Nigerians often use power or influence to oppress others once they ‘make it’.

She said, “We are the biggest hypocrites to ever exist. We can all agree that the Nigerian dream is to make it well enough to oppress another Nigerian.

“You live in the uk you know with a billion pounds you can’t do this.

“Sue the boy; I don’t care. But what you won’t do is humiliate him.

“If anybody can get me the boy’s contact, send a DM or drop a comment. We will get him out, and the boy in question will still face the law. But what you won’t do is humiliate him.”
