Why I Took A Break From Music – BBNaija Star, Laycon

Olamilekan Agbeleshe, the Big Brother Naija Season 5 winner, who is popularly known as Laycon, has opened up on why he took a break from music.

The rapper said he took a sabbatical because music was “no longer fun.”

Laycon disclosed this in a recent interview with popular media personality J. Malone.

The ‘Fierce’ crooner said he started doing music at an early age.

He said: “I have been doing music ever since I can remember, to be honest.

“Music was fun. Music has always been fun for me, which was another reason why I took a break; it stopped being fun.

“Ever since I was little, I always loved singing. I just listen to people’s music, and I just want to sing it. I didn’t think about creating mine until I was like 13. I actually just exchanged these people’s lyrics for mine. I still used their flows and rhythms. And that was when I started writing music.

“I started putting out music in 2012 when I got into the university. But my first major project was in 2016, titled ‘The Young, Black and Gifted’ EP.”

Josephine Otabor, the Big Brother Naija Season 7 winner, who is simply known as Phyna, has slammed Groovy.

She described Groovy, her estranged love interest, as a “mummy’s boy.”

According to her, Groovy doesn’t have a mind of his own.

The reality star stated this during a heated exchange with Groovy on the ‘Level Up’ reunion show, which aired on Friday night.

She claimed Groovy attempted to play games with her feelings but she outplayed him.

Phyna said, “He [Groovy] was the gamer [but] he didn’t know I’m a gameress. When I came out of this [BBNaija] House, me and this boy [Groovy], we broke up reach 10 times. We go break up this week, we go settle, we break up again, we go settle, you understand?

“So, before the South African trip, we were not cool. I think we were still around trying to make it work. Then we reached South Africa, this boy just turned to Romeo… I later found out that it was a planned work between him and his team because of clout. We came back [to Nigeria], the baba changed.”

Groovy retorted: “What? You can’t be lying against me, young lady. You are lying. It doesn’t make any sense.”

Phyna fumed: “You see this his behaviour? That is another useless behaviour of his. He is a mummy’s boy. She orders him around like he does not have a mind of his own.”

I’m Not Under Pressure To Do Butt Lift – BBNaija Star, Doyin

Doyinsola David, a former Big Brother Naija (Level Up) housemate, has explained that even though she is slim, she is not under pressure to undergo a Brazilian butt lift surgery just like many other girls are doing in the entertainment industry.

She told Saturday Beats, “I have not faced any pressure or discrimination as a slim lady. Looks do not really matter, because my brain does everything. In my opinion, the BBL trend is fading out. My brand is not based on how I look; it is based on my intellect and what value I have to bring to the table.”

Reliving her experience in Big Brother’s house, she stated that if she were to do anything differently, she would be more vocal about the things she did not like.

She said, “I would be more confrontational because I have now realised that it is best to confront issues at the moment so that people don’t think one is a pushover.”

Shedding more light on a statement she made during an episode of her podcast where she stated that uneducated and educated people should not date one another, she said, “The chance that it will work is very slim. I think they will have communication issues. Also, educated and uneducated people do not have the same priorities. I believe education shapes how one reason, communicates, and one’s approach life.”

David also stated that in the ongoing BBN reunion show, she would put other housemates in their place.

Marriage Is Not An Cchievement, It Does Not Complete You – Reno Omokri

Former presidential aide and activist, Reno Omokri has given his opinion about marriage.

According to him, marriage is an institution and not an achievement.

In a post shared on Twitter, Reno opined that marriage doesn’t complete anyone. According to him, a person is complete because of who God made them to be and not who they are with.

His post reads;

”Marriage is an institution. It is not an achievement. It does not complete you. It should not even complete you. You are complete because of who God made you, not because of who you are with. So if marriage comes during this brief gift of time that we call life, grab it and be happy. But if it does not arrive, leave it and still be joyful. Life without a husband, wife, and children is still life. Enjoy it!”

It Took Two Years For Me To Rediscover Myself After I Gave Birth – Simi

Popular Nigerian singer, Simisola Kosoko aka Simi has spoken about the impact having a baby had on her music career.
According to her, it took her two years to get her groove back after giving birth to her only child and daughter, Adejare Kosoko.
The mother of one stated this during an interview on Cool FM.
According to Simi, she can now manage her career alongside being a mother after three years.
She explained that she found herself again after her daughter turned two and slowly began to rediscover herself.
During the interview she was asked, “How’s your little baby? You got a little carbon copy of yourself that is one of the most interesting people already. What’s that like?”

She replied, “Oh my god, she is [one of the most interesting people already]. It is a lot of things at the same time and I feel like the more time I spend as a mom, my feelings about it evolve. And I remember – she’s 3 now, she just turned 3 last month – and I remember that I just started to find myself again last year. Just right after she turned 2. It’s almost like – I don’t know, I guess everybody experiences it differently, but for me, it’s like in your world, few things are dimmer to you but certain things are clearer to you. It’s like your brain just hones in to this whole mothering thing, that’s how it was for me.
“2 years later after I had my child, I feel like I started to see myself a little more. When I say see myself, I mean notice myself, like oh you’re still there. I don’t know how to explain it, it’s like the tunnel vision became a little bit wider, and I was just able to see and experience myself a little bit more. And so it can make you really vulnerable, but it’s such a beautiful thing. I feel like that’s the most incredible thing I have ever done and everyday, I am grateful to have that opportunity. But it’s not easy.”
