Don’t Waste Your Time, Money Going To Supreme Court – APC Chieftain Tells Atiku, Obi

Peter Obi and Atiku Abubakar have been urged not to approach the Supreme Court to contest the judgement of the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal (PEPT).
The call was made by a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Kailani Muhammad.
The APC chieftain said it would be a waste of time and resources if Obi, the Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate, and Atiku of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), approached the apex court for redress.
Addressing a press conference in Kaduna on Sunday, Muhammad said the ruling of the apex court would not be anything different from that of the tribunal, adding that the judges did a thorough job by addressing the issues raised one after the other.
He described the judgement delivered by the tribunal judges, which affirmed the victory of President Bola Tinubu, as a win for democracy, the rule of law and the affirmation of the people’s mandate.
Muhammad, therefore, urged Atiku and Obi to join hands with Tinubu to build a virile country that generations yet unborn will benefit from, adding that the president has done well in actualising what his predecessors couldn’t do.
He also called on Nigerians to give the president maximum support to reposition the country, saying that “Nigeria will be a Haven under Tinubu.”
Kailani, however, said Nigerians are passing through difficult times presently as a result of the subsidy removal and called on Tinubu to speed up the palliatives and other measures that will cushion the effects.

Players And Supporters Attack Referee Over ‘Poor Officiating’ in Ebonyi Governor’s Cup

A referee has been given a thorough beating by players and supporters of an Ishielu Local Government Area team over poor officiating.
The players and supporters reportedly attacked the referee at the end of the Ebonyi State governor, Francis Nwifuru’s cup final match on Sunday evening, September 10.
It was gathered that the referee was chased all over the stadium as he ran for his life over alleged poor officiating in the match.
Normalcy was restored after the governor intervened in rescuing the referee from the angry supporters who overpowered the security men trying to protect him.
During the prize presentation ceremony, Governor Francis Nwifuru of Ebonyi condemned the attack, describing the act as ‘shameful and embarrassing’.
“I did not expect the players to behave unprofessionally.

“Anyone not happy with a referee’s decision should not get to him but complain to the relevant officials.

“The person will still get a response and I am sure with what the sports commissioner told me, we will not have a repeat of this kind of violence,” he said.
The governor also announced that match officials for subsequent competitions will come from other states to avoid similar attacks.
“The match officials would not be known to anyone or any team.

“The sports commissioner has, however, shown his strength in organising such a competition and we would continue providing opportunities to empower and unite our youths,” he said.
Ebonyi LGA won the trophy by beating Ishielu 2-1 while Ohaozara LGA came third by defeating Izzi 1-0 in the third-place match.

BBNaija All Star: I’ll Still Kiss This Saturday, Mercy Eke Vows

Mercy Eke, the popular BBNaija All Stars housemate, has made a new vow.

She vowed once again to engage in some kissing exercises this Saturday after the reality TV show’s housemate ‘bared’ her ‘secret’ kiss with Pere during the Live eviction show on Sunday, September 10.

Recall that Eke shared a passionate kiss with evicted housemate, Kiddwaya after their usual Saturday night party before his eviction.

Though Mercy has denied knowledge of the occurrence, blaming it on alcohol, she, however, revealed she would kiss another housemate following Kidd’s departure while chatting with Frodd and Angel in the dining area.

Meanwhile, the last Saturday night rave witnessed an unexpected display of passion as Mercy shocked Pere when she locked lips with him twice, during and after the party.

Since Mercy Eke and Whitemoney, also known as “WhiteLambo” by fans, had recently been the subject of a lot of intense ship banter, the kisses came as a surprise.

They have also been seen playfully discussing their future together and potential names for their “children”.

Mercy was a ball of excitement throughout the party, gliding between Pere and Whitemoney with ease as she danced across the floor.

She seemed to be having fun at the party, sharing her drink with the boys and then, in what seemed to be a stolen kiss, giving Pere a passionate kiss.

Another video showed when Mercy pulled close to kiss Pere once more while they were in the dresser area but Ilebaye swiftly pushed her away from Pere when Whitemoney suddenly surfaced.

As usual, after she was ‘exposed’ by Ebuka, Eke expressed her reserve on the matter.

She questioned why the show’s host always had to reveal supposedly hidden stuff, especially since it involved two consenting adults.

Pledging not to be deterred regardless, the ‘Pepper Den’ winner shared plans of repeating her kissing exercise this Saturday albeit, she didn’t state with whom she would be doing it

She stated: “I’m okay. Even this Saturday sef, I go kiss a person. It’s Saturday Saturday thing.”

President Tinubu Has Been Fair to Igbos With Appointments Despite Low Votes The Region Gave Him – Soludo

Anambra State Governor Chukwuma Soludo has hailed President Bola Tinubu.
According to Soludo, Tinubu has been fair to the Southeast geo-political zone with the distribution of appointments, despite losing five eastern states during the February 25 election.
Soludo who is the National Leader of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), said the president has not marginalised Ndigbo, citing the appointment of the former governor of Ebonyi State, Senator Dave Umahi, as Minister of Works.
Other ministers from Southeast include Doris Anite ( Industry, Trade and Investment; Imo state);  Uche Nnaji (Innovation, Science and Technology; Enugu), Nkiru Onyejeocha, Minister of State, Labour and Employment; Abia); and Uju Kennedy (Women Affairs;  Anambra).
During the last presidential election, the All Progressives Congress (APC), on which platform the president ran, got 127,605 votes in the South East.
Soludo praised the President for what he described as a “juicy” appointment to the region when Umahi visited him in Awka, the state capital, at the weekend, adding that Tinubu never considered the regional disposition and voting pattern.
“Given the totality of votes we contributed from Southeast and looking at the ministerial portfolios, we may not have the basis to begin to demand for “juicy” portfolios.
“But, the President graciously gave us one of our finest and best, one of the few engineers who pioneered concrete pavement as current standard for road construction.

” Nigeria is a federation. You cannot stay in your state, clap with one hand and expect noise. You need the other hand, which is the federal government, for things to work.”

“With you, Engr. Umahi in office, you are a perfect round peg in a round hole. Please, keep showing your leadership.

“What you said about the possibility of coming back again for us to move around in Anambra State will be fantastic because we have fundamental challenges on road infrastructure and especially how it’s delivered by the Federal Government

PEPT Judgement: Nothing Will Come Out of Your Appeal – Edwin Clarke to Obi, Atiku

A Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Robert Clarke, SAN has given a verdict ahead of Supreme Court review of Presidential Election Petition Tribunal ruling dismissing petitions against the election of Bola Tinubu as President of Nigeria.
Clarke claimed that nothing will come out of Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi’s appeal to the Supreme Court.
Recall that the Presidential Election Petition Tribunal, PEPT, on Wednesday, upheld the victory of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, but his challengers have vowed to proceed to the Supreme Court.
Tinubu’s victory is being challenged by Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, who came second in the election, and third-placed Peter Obi of the Labour Party.
Appearing on Channels Television on Sunday, Clarke noted that all the matters presented by Atiku and Obi at the tribunal have already been adjudged at the Supreme Court.
“In my personal view, and I believe my personal view is enriched with my past experience in the dispensation of justice at the bar.

“I have every belief and I seriously believe that the unanimous judgement of the Court of Appeal is unassailable, it is as fixed as you can fix anything and I can assure that if there is an appeal, I doubt if anything can come out of the appeal. Let us be clear to ourselves.

“All the matters, based on law that were brought before the tribunal, had already been adjudged by the apex court in this country.”
