The Nigerian musician Burna Boy has taken issue with remarks made by his colleague Eedris Abdulkareem in an unpublished podcast episode.
On X on Saturday, a teaser video for the next episode of The Honest Bunch Podcast featuring Abdulkareem criticizing Burna Boy for claiming that no Nigerian musician has ever assisted him went viral.
You hear people like Burna Boy claim that no one in Nigeria assisted him. In the now-viral video, Abdulkareem remarked, “That’s just stupid talk.”
In response, Burna Boy said in a since-deleted post made on his verified X Twitter that he did not hold Abdulkareem accountable for his remarks but rather the donors who paid for his hospital stays after receiving a kidney transplant in 2022.
The crooner of “African Giant,” who is presently performing in the Bahamas, expressed his wish that Abdulkareem might be in that location so that they could personally settle their differences.
“Abdul Kareem abi wettin dem dey call your papa, I no blame you,” he wrote in Pidgin. I hold financial donors accountable for your medical expenses. And I hope that you are the kind of person who can fit into the nice spots that I have, so let’s use mistake jam.
