2027: I’m Not Joining ADC – Peter Obi Says

Former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has clarified that he does not need to formally join the African Democratic Congress (ADC).

According to Obi, he has always been a member of the ADC and was part of the coalition from its inception.

He stated this while speaking during an X Space on Sunday night.

Obi also made it clear that he will always have respect for ex-vice president Atiku Abubakar.

“I am not joining ADC. I can’t re-join what I am already a part of,”
Obi said.

“I’ve been part of the coalition from day one.

“Nobody is stepping down for me in ADC.

“We have all agreed to work together and Atiku remains my respected leader.”

2027: I Will Not Be Vice President To Anybody – Peter Obi Declares

Peter Obi, a former Labour Party presidential candidate, has officially confirmed his intention to contest again in the 2027 elections.

Obi revealed this while speaking during a X Spaces on Sunday night.

The ex-governor of Anambra State, however, insisted he will not be a running mate to anybody.

According to Obi, he has not garnered all the experience he has, only to end up as a vice-president.

“I am not travelling round the world to learn governance to be Vice president,”
Obi said.

““I know how to turn Nigeria around. I built my business from scratch and have more experience than any candidate, including the sitting President.

“Peter Obi will be on the ballot in 2027. I need your support. I need your prayers.”

I’ve Spent Over N80m Producing Movies But I Haven’t Gotten N1m Back – Nkechi Blessing Says, Reveals She Has Quit Movie Production

Nollywood actress Nkechi Blessing Sunday has voiced her frustration over her movie investments, revealing that she has spent more than ₦80 million on productions without turning a profit.

The actress said she has been funding movie productions since September but has yet to earn even a fraction of what she spent.

This has led her to think about stepping away from production and focusing on other ventures, such as travelling.

Nkechi said that despite her efforts to make quality films, audiences often ignore movies that are not heavily promoted, making it difficult for her to recoup her investments.

She wrote: “I no do again abeg…I have spent over 80 million naira producing movies since September and I haven’t gotten 1m back…I no do again abeg🙏

“make I go back to flying round d world…As una no gree watch film if the Movie is not over hyped,I don try🙏

“the ones we were there for self no even fit help…I am done abeg!”

Fans and fellow actors reacted to her message online.

Actress Tonto Dikeh encouraged her not to give up, offering support to promote her work widely.

She wrote: “Give up? Who is permitting that sin? Not on my watch. What do we do? Post? Send it to your friends.

“We will share it everywhere. You are a helper and we will do the same for you effortlessly. We don’t accept defeat here. We don’t even condone it.”

NDLEA Arrests Notorious Drug Trafficker, Three Others Over UK-bound Cocaine Concealed In Starch Sachets (Video)

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has apprehended notorious drug trafficker Nwobodo Chidiebere Basil, who was previously convicted in 2023 for dealing 30.10kg of methamphetamine.

A statement released on Sunday by the agency’s spokesman, Femi Babafemi, disclosed that Basil was arrested along with three cargo agents over the seizure of 75 parcels of cocaine weighing 1.50 kilograms concealed in factory-sealed sachets of cold-water starch heading to the United Kingdom at the export shed of the Murtala Muhammed International Airport (MMIA), Ikeja, Lagos.

The statement read, “Three cargo agents: Jubrin Firdausi Hassana, Kuku Daniel Oluwasegun, and Igwe Chioma Jane, involved in the attempt to export the consignment to the UK, were swiftly arrested on Saturday, 20th December 2025, before further investigations unravelled 37-year-old Nwobodo Chidiebere Basil as the mastermind. He was arrested in a follow up operation on Sunday 21st December at a popular relaxation centre in Ikeja where he went on a date with his girlfriend.

“The Agency’s criminal database revealed that Nwobodo had been arrested in May 2023 in connection with the seizure of 30.10kg methamphetamine concealed in powdered custard containers as part of a consolidated cargo going to London, United Kingdom, at the export shed of the Lagos airport. He was subsequently arraigned at a Federal High Court in charge number: FHC/L/337C/2023, convicted and sentenced to five years imprisonment with an option of a fine of Seven Million Naira (₦7,000,000.00), along with one-month community service, with effect from 4th December, 2023. He paid the fine and soon after returned to the same crime.”

Babafemi also disclosed that the NDLEA operatives during another operation on Monday December, 22 set ablaze tons of skunk, a strain of cannabis and wooden warehouses in Ara forest, Ara-Ekiti where 638 kilograms of same psychoactive substance were also recovered.

He said, “No fewer than 1,205 blocks of compressed cannabis sativa, weighing 883.1kg, were recovered from three Toyota Camry vehicles intercepted by NDLEA operatives on patrol along Igara-Auchi road, Edo state, on Monday, 22nd December.”

Similarly, a raid operation conducted on Sunday, December 21, at Agoi-Ibami community, Yakurr LGA, in Cross River State, led to the arrest of three suspects and the seizure of various quantities of skunk.

The suspects include, Freedom Jonah Akpama, 27, with 671kg; David Itam David, 30, with 89kg; and Nelson Arikpo Osam, 26, with 148kg.

The agency said in another operation, a 42-year-old lady, identified as Joy Oisamaye, was arrested with 38kg skunk by NDLEA operatives on patrol along Abaji- Abuja expressway on Monday, December 22, on her way from Otua in Owan East LGA, Edo state.

In Gombe state, a 65-year-old driver, Sada’u Mohammed, was arrested while conveying 300 ampoules of pentazocine injection, 27,900 pills of tramadol, and other opioids, along the Gombe-Biu highway, heading to Biu in Borno state.

NDLEA also stated that a 47-year-old businessman, Ignatius Egbochie (alias Brown), wanted in connection with the seizure of 56 parcels of Loud, a strain of cannabis, weighing 26kg at the Tincan seaport in Lagos, has been arrested by NDLEA operatives.

The statement added, “The illicit drug consignment was seized on 10th December during a joint examination of a container by NDLEA, Customs and other security agencies. A follow up operation by NDLEA operatives on 19th December led to the arrest of Ignatius in Apapa.”

The Chairman of NDLEA, Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (Rtd) acknowledged the commitment of his operatives and enjoined them to remain extra vigilant throughout the festive season and beyond.

Marwa also charged them to maintain the highest standard of professionalism in all their drug control efforts.

Family Breaks Silence On The De@th Of Nollywood Actress, Allwell Ademola, Reveals Real Age

The family of Nollywood actress and producer Allwell Ademola has expressed grief over her passing, confirming that she was 49 years old at the time of her de@th.

The clarification follows earlier reports within the entertainment industry that Allwell died at the age of 43 after suffering a heart attack at her residence before being taken to the hospital.

Following the news of her de@th, tributes have continued to pour in from colleagues in the movie industry.

In a statement released on Sunday and signed by Adeboyega Adebayo, on behalf of the Ademola family, the late actress was said to have died on Saturday, December 27, 2025.

The family described Allwell as a proud daughter of the Ademola family of Ogun State and a great-granddaughter of the Alake of Egbaland, noting that she was deeply committed to the creative arts.

They also expressed gratitude to industry colleagues, friends and well-wishers for the outpouring of support since Allwell’s demise.

The family added that details of burial arrangements would be communicated later.

The statement reads, “With heavy hearts and total submission to the will of God, we announce the passing of our beloved sister, mother, and aunt, Princess Allwell Ademola, who departed this life on Saturday, the 27th day of December, 2025, at the age of 49.

“From childhood until her passing, she distinguished herself as a thespian, actor, singer, and filmmaker, touching many lives through her art, talent, and unwavering dedication to the creative industry.

“The Ademola family sincerely appreciates the overwhelming love, prayers, and messages of condolence from her colleagues, friends, and well-wishers across the world during this difficult time.”

Actor Muyiwa Ademola Begs For Forgiveness As He Writes Touching Tribute To Late Cousin And Colleague, Allwell Ademola

Nollywood actor Muyiwa Ademola has penned a heartfelt tribute to his late cousin and fellow actor, Allwell Ademola.

Earlier, 626Blaze reported that the actress had passed away after suffering a heart attack at her residence.

The sad news was confirmed by colleagues of the deceased via their respective social media. The likes of Damola Olatunji, Mr Latin, Faithia Williams, and Bidemi Kosoko were the first to mourn her.

In his Instagram post, he described the news as the saddest he had ever received and revealed that he was at a loss for words.

The actor begged for forgiveness if he had ever wronged anyone. He said he was letting go of all grudges in his heart, too, as his heart is heavy and he wants it to be light.

Muyiwa made it known that he has also forgiven anyone who has wronged him, as he called for a peaceful world.

He wrote: “Goodnight, Couz.

Good night, ALLWELL.

It is one of the saddest news I ever received!

I do not know what to write.

But please and please, if I have wronged you in any way.

Do forgive me. Remember, a day like this is certain for you and me! Think about that and forgive me.

I Forgive You But I Don’t Lie – Nollywood Actress Doris Ogala Picks Holes In Chris Okafor’s Apology

Popular Nollywood actress Doris Ogala has insisted that she did not lie, countering claims made by Pastor Chris Okafor, founder of Grace Nation Bible Ministry.

626Blaze had earlier reported that the preacher, on Sunday, while tendering apologies to the actress over a furry of allegations against him, said some of the claims by the actress were lies.

The Nollywood star had formally accused Pastor Chris days earlier of breaching a promise to marry her, an allegation that has birthed other troubles for the man of God.

The actress in a demand, dated December 16, 2025 and conveyed to the preacher through her lawyers, Synergy Law Partners demanded N1 billion as compensation.

The issue took another turn for the worst earlier this week, with Okafor’s children coming up with more allegations.

But addressing the congregation on Sunday, the preacher apologized to the actress and other people he trespassed against.

 

He said, “To the lady called Doris Ogala, mistakes have been made in the past and I tender apologies to everybody. There are so many lies in most of the things that were said, however, I am saying sorry to everyone I have offended.

 


“To Doris Ogala, I am so sorry and I apologize. I am ready to make restitution to anyone that I have offended”.

However, reacting to the apology, Doris Ogala faulted the pastor’s claim of lies, stating that she has a problem with the remark.

In a post on her Facebook page, the actress said she does not lie.

“Chris Okafor, I forgive you but there is a problem where you said everything is a lie. I have a problem with that because I don’t lie”,
she said.

Rivers: Crowd Of Supporters Gather To Welcome Nyesom Wike To Emohua (Video)

A massive crowd on Sunday turned out to receive the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, in Rumuche, Emohua Local Government Area of Rivers State.

Wike visited Emohua Local Government Area for a special Christmas visit.

This is part of the Minister’s homecoming to mark the Yuletide season as the end of the year draws closer.

On Saturday, Wike was in Ochigba, Ahoada East Local Government Area of Rivers State, where he attended the end of the year thanksgiving service, organized by former Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Chibudom Nwuche.

During the visit, the Minister met with stakeholders of the People Democratic Party, PDP, in the area.

Addressing them, Wike pledged his support for President Bola Tinubu’s second term while shading some new supporters of the president.

NFF Clears Air On FIFA’s Response Regarding DR Congo Players’ Eligibility Dispute Against Nigeria

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has clarified that it is yet to receive a response from FIFA concerning its protest over the eligibility of some Democratic Republic of Congo players who featured in the 2026 World Cup African playoff against the Super Eagles weeks ago.

NFF, however, categorically stated that the situation is still under consideration.

This statement comes in response to media claims that FIFA had dismissed Nigeria’s appeal following the Super Eagles’ defeat to DR Congo in the play-off final.

Speaking on the development, NFF Secretary General, Mohammed Sanusi, confirmed that no official updates have been received from FIFA concerning the petition.

“The Nigeria Football Federation wrote a petition to FIFA on the eligibility of some of the players of DR Congo, and if there is anything, FIFA will reply to the NFF,”
Sanusi said during an interview on AIT.

“The NFF has not received any letter from FIFA saying they have thrown away our petition. We have checked our emails, and there was no letter from FIFA.

“I don’t know where they got their information from. If there is any such letter, let them show it, unless they have someone in FIFA giving them information ahead of official communication.”
