El-Rufai Visits Obasanjo In Abeokuta (Photo)

On Sunday, Nasir El-Rufai, the immediate past governor of Kaduna State, visited former President Olusegun Obasanjo.

 

El-Rufai visited Obasanjo at his home in Abeokuta, Ogun State.

 

This was disclosed by El-Rufai’s media aide, Muyiwa Adekeye, via his X handle.

 

The post, which had pictures from the visit, was captioned, “Former President Olusegun Obasanjo today welcomed Malam Nasir #elrufai to his Abeokuta home.”

 

The visit is coming after the Awujale of Ijebuland, Oba Sikiru Adetona, installed El-Rufai as the Gbobaniyi of Ijebuland.

 

 

 

El-Rufai said he’s the first Nigerian outside the Southwest to be conferred with the chieftaincy title.

 

The former governor had posted on X, “WEEKEND ANNOUNCEMENT: I am also privileged to be the first Nigerian outside of South-West of Nigeria to be conferred with a chieftaincy title by the Awujale in his nearly 64-year reign.

 

“I am to be recognized as the Gbobaniyi of Ijebuland. I am grateful to Kabiyesi Awujale for the recognition and thank all those who have wished me well for this.

 

“Please join me, Jimi, and our families and friends in prayers for a hitch free event, and good health, long life and prosperity of His Majesty Awujale and all of us. – Nasir @elrufai”

BREAKING: An Officer Accidentally Shot Nollywood Actor, Azeez Ijaduade — Police Clarifies

Despite initial reports indicating that Nollywood actor and director Azeez Ijaduade was shot in Iperu Remo, Ogun State, the state police command clarified that the victim was accidentally hit by a shot discharged mistakenly by a police officer on Sunday.

 

Recall that the news of Ijaduade being shot by a trigger-happy policeman was disclosed by his colleague, Abiodun Adebanjo, via his Instagram handle, @iamabiodunadebanjo, on Sunday.

 

The actor wrote, “Please we need help in Iperu. My director, Azeez Ijaduade, @kingzeez1, was shot by Nigerian police personnel.

 

“He is presently at Babcock University Teaching Hospital.

 

“Anybody with the contacts of the Police IG or Commissioner should reach out.”

 

However, the state Police Public Relations Officer, Omolola Odutola, said in an exclusive chat with PUNCH Online, Sunday morning, that one of its officers attached to the executives of Bramajaj Company Limited, Ogere Remo, “accidentally discharged a shot from his rifle” during the end-of-year party of the company at a hotel in Iperu.

 

Meanwhile, Ijaduade, his crew members, and other actors were said to be having a movie shoot at the same hotel when the shot hit the Nollywood actor’s neck.

 

Police further disclosed that the actor had been rushed to the hospital, where he was said to be currently responding to treatment.

 

“The victim is currently in a stable condition,” Odutola said.

Why I Dropped Out of Medical School In My Final Year – Peruzzi

According to the star, he dropped out in his final year.
The artist revealed on the Zero Conditions Podcast how psychologically exhausted he was while studying Medicine and Surgery in Ukraine.
He insisted that he had just finished the course and that he wanted to pursue his musical love.
“I got tired for real, for real. I never felt like that in my life. I was done, like everything about me, in my head, I was done with medicine. And that was when I was about to start my final year so it was a lot. I had written my first MD already at the time. It wasn’t about how long I had left at the time, it was about me not wanting to do anything again. I didn’t want to do it anymore,” said Peruzzi.
Peruzzi attended Odesa National University in Ukraine until his fifth year, when the pressure of Medical School became too much for him, prompting him to return to Nigeria.
He was able to tell his mother how he had been feeling at school and why he wanted to return, and she set one condition for his return.
He continued; “I really got tired, my entire being was tired so I left on the first of January and I didn’t even have my passport, I had lost it. So I went to the embassy and they gave me a travel letter because I needed to leave that urgently. When I got back the only person I told was my mum. I was able to explain how bad I was feeling and she said I should make sure to come back with my school result and everything from the first year to show that I was in school so I did.”
He couldn’t tell his father why he was back in Nigeria, and his mother hadn’t informed him either. Peruzzi then informed the podcast hosts that members of his father’s church had begun to murmur among themselves at the time that he had dropped out because he was home during a non-holiday season.
Despite dropping out, the singer appears to have no remorse about his decision.

Jose Mourinho, former Chelsea and Manchester United manager has finally opened up on why he changed John Mikel Obi from an offensive midfielder to a defensive midfielder during his tenure at Stamford Bridge.
Before arriving at Chelsea in 2006, Obi was regarded as one of the best young playmakers in the world at that time.
He worked under Mourinho during the Portuguese’s tenure at the London club.
The 36-year-old was, however, changed to a defensive midfielder by the Portuguese.
Mourinho, now in charge of the Serie A side, AS Roma, revealed the reason behind his action.
 
“I liked everything about Mikel. If you go through all the positional [defensive] midfield players that I have had during my career, there are lots of similar things,” Mourinho said on the ObiOne Podcast.
“Aside from Claude Makelele who was small, I had them all tall and physically strong. They also knew how to occupy space and they have what I call ‘the simplicity of football’, which is fundamental in that position.
 
“The team needs balance, with or without the ball. A defensive midfielder needs to be humble in the sense that they recognize that the team is more important than themselves.
 
“With me at Chelsea, Mikel was a fantastic positional midfield player, very quick thinking, one touch, two touches, everything was simple, and the game was flowing.”
Mikel made 249 league appearances for Chelsea winning the Premier League title twice. He also won four FA Cup titles four times as well as the UEFA Champions League and Europa League.

Rivers Crisis: Tinubu Was Ready To Take Hard Action If Resolution Failed – Presidency

The Presidency has reacted to the peace brokered by President Bola Tinubu between Governor Siminalayi Fubara and his immediate predecessor and Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, on Monday evening.
Recall that the duo reached an agreement to end the political crisis rocking the state.
Reacting through its spokesman Ajuri Ngelale, the presidency said President Bola Tinubu was fully ready and equipped to take a very hard action had the crisis rocking Rivers State politics not been resolved on Monday evening.
He said the President’s motive in intervening in the matter is not a political one.
The agreement was reached after President Tinubu and other stakeholders met with the two warring factions.
Speaking on TV after the resolution was signed, Ngelale said the President acted as the father of the nation.
“The motive of the President in this case is clearly not a political one. He’s the father of the nation.
 
“He’s the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and the Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces. It’s his primary responsibility to ensure that there’s peace, stability and security in all parts of the country.
 
“If he sees that peace is breaking down in any part of the country, this is a President that will take action. But nobody should be mistaken, His Excellency, Mr President, was fully ready and equipped to take a very hard action if this resolution was not reached.
 
“So it is of great relief to the Rivers people and Nigerians at large that a resolution has been reached.”
