Super Eagles: ‘Eric Chelle Is Not Going Anywhere’ – NSC Director General Confirms

Director-General of Nigeria’s National Sports Commission (NSC), Bukola Olopade, has dismissed any possibility of Super Eagles coach Eric Chelle leaving his position or Nigeria, despite interest from Tunisia, Gabon, and Angola.

Chelle has attracted interest from the aforementioned countries after guiding Nigeria to win Bronze at the 2025 AFCON in Morocco.

The Malian has less than a year remaining on his contract with the Nigeria Football Federation.

However, Olopade has now insisted that Chelle is not leaving Nigeria because the countries interested in him don’t have top players that will make his job easy.

“Eric Chelle is not going anywhere. The countries claiming interest in him don’t have the kind of superstars that make his job easier.

“We must not forget that Eric thrived because he had the right equipment and instruments—the quality personnel he used to execute his ideas.

“I had dinner with him two days ago at my house in Abuja. I’m not the NFF President, but we operate with a collaborative approach, and Eric Chelle has become both a brother and a friend.

“That same night, I called the NFF president, and hopefully by Tuesday or Wednesday, we’ll all sit down together,” Olopade told Footy-Africa.

Popular Skitmaker, Egungun Shades His Critics As He Shows Off His Newly Acquired House (Video)

Kuye Adegoke, the popular Nigerian skit maker, who is better known as Egungun, is now the proud owner of a house in Lagos.

He shared a video of himself and his wife in their new house while seemingly throwing shade at his critics.

He was trending on social media some days ago following his interview with American streamer, Ishowspeed during his visit to Nigeria.

Some Nigerians felt Egungun could have done better by asking intelligent questions.

While showing off his new house, Egungun mentioned that the real respect goes to those who make things happen and not those who sit down and criticize others.

He wrote: ‘’Congratulations to me and my FAMILY congratulations

It’s not the people who sit down and criticize that matter.

It’s not those who point fingers and say, “You could have done it better.”

The real respect goes to the person who tries.

The one who shows up, works hard, gets tired, makes mistakes, and sometimes fails.

Because nobody can try without messing up sometimes.

That person still keeps going.

They believe in something.

They give their energy to a good cause.

If they succeed, great — they’ve achieved something big.

If they fail, at least they failed while trying.

They will never be like those people who do nothing, say nothing, and stand aside —

people who never win and never lose because they never even tried.”

BREAKING: Dangote Refinery Increases Fuel Price Nationwide By N100 Per Liter

Dangote Refinery has announced a nationwide increase of ₦100 per litre in the retail price of Premium Motor Spirit (petrol).

The company disclosed this in a statement on Monday.

According to the $20 billion refinery plant, its gantry price of petrol is now sold at N799 per liter, while the retail price is N839 per liter, up from N699 and N739 per liter sold since December last year.

“Under the current alignment, the PMS gantry price is N799 per liter, while MRS retail outlets are selling at N839 per liter,” the company stated.

The Chief Executive Officer of Dangote Petroleum Refinery, David Bird, stated that the refinery continues to supply the domestic market with approximately 50 million liters of PMS daily, with nationwide evacuation and distribution operating normally.

Recall that Dangote Refinery resorted to gasoline imports to boost its capacity amid its Residual Fluid Catalytic Cracker, RFCC, downtime, according to Kpler.

As of Monday night, retail filling stations, including Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited, dispense petrol between N805 and N830 per liter.

However, Dangote’s fuel price hike may trigger a petrol price hike across the country’s downstream sector.

Recall that Aliko Dangote, the president of the refinery, had in December last year said that its N739 per liter retail fuel price would persist nationwide to edge out importers.

In the briefing with journalists, precisely on Sunday, 14th December, Dangote said, “We don’t want people to sell petrol for more than N740 nationwide.”

The track, fully owned by Ademoye with the artist’s approval, was allegedly uploaded to platforms like Spotify under Davies’ name as composer.

This led to a false copyright strike on her YouTube upload of Where Love Lives, a December 2025 release starring Uzor Arukwe, Chioma Nwosu, and Osas Ighodaro that amassed millions of views, resulting in demonetisation and diverted earnings.

Ademoye initially voiced her distress publicly, vowing legal action and demanding the claim’s immediate removal.

Social Media, AI ‘Monsters’ Are Destroying Children – Shehu Sani Warns

Former lawmaker Senator Shehu Sani has cautioned that social media and artificial intelligence (AI) are posing significant threats to the education and discipline of children in the present generation.

In a post on X on Monday, Sani described social media as the “biggest distraction” facing young people today, noting that many parents are worried about the growing influence of mobile phones and online platforms on their children.

He referenced recent moves by countries such as Australia, which has banned children under 16 from accessing social media, as well as discussions in France and Britain on similar measures.

According to him, the rise of artificial intelligence has further worsened the situation, stressing that urgent steps must be taken to “rescue” young people from harmful digital influences.

Sani said: “Without doubt, the social media is the biggest distraction to the education and discipline of the children of this generation.

“Australia has banned the under 16s from the social media, France and Britain are thinking of doing the same. Nowadays, every parent has a story to tell about the influence of phones and the social media on their kids.

“AI further complicates the problem. We have a monster to deal with. Its not so easy, but the young must be rescued.”
