“Name the Killer Or Face The Law” — Mohbad’s Brother Warns Verydarkman Over Prolonged Claims

Adura, brother of the late Nigerian singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, has fired a stern warning at social media influencer Verydarkman, demanding an end to what he described as a prolonged and unsubstantiated investigation into the circumstances of the singer’s tragic death.

Taking to Instagram, Adura expressed growing frustration over Verydarkman’s recent online commentary, particularly concerning a leaked WhatsApp group chat that has revived speculation about Mohbad’s demise. According to Adura, the influencer’s suggestive remarks have generated intense public suspense without offering any concrete revelations.

In his post, Adura accused Verydarkman of playing to the gallery by raising public hopes without backing his claims with facts or evidence. He threatened legal action if the online activist fails to substantiate his accusations or reveal clear findings about what allegedly led to Mohbad’s death.

Quote
“Someone tell that prose narrator there’s already public suspense and he must finish the prose,”

Adura wrote.

Quote
“Even I am waiting for the epilogue, because he already raised my hope that he’s going to show us what killed my brother Moh inside the house—something that was hidden even from me.”

He further clarified that he had already given his full account to the Nigeria Police Force and the coroner handling the case, and stressed that the burden now lies on Verydarkman to provide clarity or stop fueling public confusion.

Quote
“But this sudden online witness, investigator, prosecutor, and magistrate combined must help us with what happened beyond our own knowledge,”

Adura continued.

Quote
“If he doesn’t explain it to the public, the way he stirred emotions and set minds against me, then he will explain it to a court someday!”

The latest outburst underscores the ongoing tension surrounding Mohbad’s controversial death, which continues to attract public interest nearly a year after the incident. As calls for justice persist, the family appears increasingly intolerant of speculation they believe may deepen their grief or mislead the public.

Nollywood actor, Yul Edochie has issued an emotional appeal to Igbos living abroad, especially those in Ghana, urging them to return home and invest in the Southeast.

This comes in response to rising tensions in Ghana, where protests recently erupted, with some locals calling for the deportation of Nigerians amid allegations of increasing criminal activity.

He described the situation as a call from Igbo ancestors to rebuild the region, emphasising that a new era of unity and development is dawning in the Southeast.

Quoting a popular proverb, he concluded: “Ana amalu mma si na uno wee puo ilo,  meaning “beauty begins at home before it shines outside.”

Nigeria may collapse if APC wins 2027, El-Rufai warns

Former Kaduna State governor, Nasir el-Rufai, has warned that Nigeria’s future is at serious risk if the All Progressives Congress (APC) wins the 2027 presidential election.

Speaking in Sokoto during a grassroots mobilisation event for the African Democratic Congress (ADC), el-Rufai said he joined the opposition coalition to help remove the APC from power, describing the ruling party as “incompetent” and dangerous to the country’s survival.

“We may not have a country if the APC continues beyond 2027,” he said. “This is a fight for our lives.”

A founding member of the APC, el-Rufai officially left the party in March 2025 for the Social Democratic Party (SDP), following the rejection of his ministerial nomination by the national assembly due to alleged security concerns.

However, the SDP later expelled him and banned him for 30 years over alleged document forgery.

He has since joined the ADC, where he now plays a major role in mobilising Nigerians against the APC-led government.

MTN, Airtel cash in as users spent N2.53tn on calls and data in just six months

Subscribers on MTN and Airtel networks have reportedly spent a whopping sum of N2.53 trillion on voice and data services in the first half of 2025, reflecting a 50.9% increase from the N1.68 trillion recorded during the same period in 2024.

According to newly released half-year financial results, MTN Nigeria accounted for the bulk of the revenue, generating N2.12 trillion from data and voice services between January and June 2025 — a 55.7% jump from N1.36 trillion in the same period last year.

MTN’s data revenue soared by 69.2% to N1.23 trillion, while voice revenue climbed 40.3% to N887.13 billion.

The company attributed this growth to strong consumer demand, strategic price adjustments, and a rising base of active data users.

MTN reported that its active data subscribers rose 11.8% to 51 million, while its total mobile user base grew to 84.7 million, up 6.7%.

Average monthly data usage per user rose to 13.2GB, thanks to a 62.6% smartphone penetration rate and a 41.2% increase in data traffic.

With service revenues boosted by revised pricing plans, MTN turned around its financial performance, posting a profit of N414.9 billion in H1 2025 — a sharp contrast to the N519.1 billion loss it recorded in H1 2024. Its EBITDA more than doubled to N1.2 trillion, with a margin of 50.6%.

The telco has since revised its full-year outlook, projecting at least 50% growth in both service revenue and EBITDA margin.

Meanwhile, Airtel Nigeria reported a total of $298 million (approximately N412.43 billion) in voice and data revenue for the first half of the year, marking a 30.1% increase over the N316.94 billion posted in H1 2024.

Airtel’s data revenue rose by 40.2% to $164 million (N226.98 billion), while voice revenue increased by 19.1% to $134 million (N185.46 billion). The company’s customer base grew to 53.6 million, with data subscribers rising by 11.3% to 29.3 million.

Average monthly data usage rose to 9.3GB per subscriber, up from 7.3GB in the previous year, while smartphone penetration reached 51.4%.

Airtel’s EBITDA climbed 49.9% to $185 million, and the EBITDA margin improved to 55.7%, helped by efficient cost controls and strong service uptake.

Despite previous currency devaluation challenges, Airtel reported improved financial health and stronger cash flows in 2025.

Both companies cited improved macroeconomic conditions in Nigeria, with inflation easing to 22.2% by June and the naira stabilising around N1,530/$, helping with financial planning and investment.

MTN also launched the first phase of its US$240 million Dabengwa Tier III Data Centre in July, which is set to become the largest in West Africa. The facility is expected to provide top-tier infrastructure for digital transformation and cloud services.

Karl Toriola, CEO of MTN Nigeria, commented:

“We maintained strong commercial momentum in H1 2025 through disciplined execution, targeted customer engagement and network investments… Active data users rose by 3.3 million in H1, driving a 41.2% year-on-year increase in data traffic.”

On the other hand, Airtel Africa partnered with SpaceX’s Starlink to deliver satellite broadband services across remote parts of Africa, including Nigeria.

The partnership aims to improve connectivity in underserved areas such as schools, clinics, and rural communities.

Airtel noted that Starlink has secured licenses in 9 out of 14 African countries within its footprint, with the rest in progress.

‘Far above national economy’ – Fenerbahce legend slams Galatasaray over Osimhen’s deal

Fenerbahce legend Umit Ozat has raised serious financial concerns over Galatasaray’s record-breaking acquisition of Victor Osimhen, describing the deal as unsustainable and disproportionate to Turkey’s economic reality.

Speaking on SkySpor’s YouTube channel, Ozat questioned how any Turkish club could justify splashing such staggering sums, even for a player of Osimhen’s quality.

“Can you say that signing Osimhen was a bad thing? No. But the cost is far above the national economy,” Ozat stated.

“Osimhen is a valuable, high-quality, and great player, but for our clubs, these amounts are a lot of money.”

Galatasaray paid €75 million to secure the Nigerian striker from Napoli, the most expensive transfer in Turkish football history.

Osimhen will reportedly earn €15 million per season, with an additional €1 million in loyalty bonuses and €5 million in image rights annually.

Ozat clarified he would have criticized such financial outlay even if Fenerbahce had made the move.

“I don’t envy the transfer. These amounts of money shouldn’t be given lightly. I hope they can come up with the money,” he added.

Osimhen has already joined pre-season training with Galatasaray as the club gears up for the 2025–26 campaign.

Mohbad’s brother Adura threatens legal action against Verydarkman

Adura, the brother of the late Nigerian singer Mohbad, has issued a stern warning to controversial social media commentator Verydarkman, urging him to conclude his ongoing investigation into the circumstances surrounding Mohbad’s death.

In a strongly worded Instagram post, Adura expressed frustration over Verydarkman’s recent claims and insinuations made in connection with a leaked WhatsApp group chat, which has reignited conversations around the singer’s passing.

He accused Verydarkman of raising public expectations without delivering concrete answers and vowed to take legal action if the self-styled activist fails to provide credible findings or evidence pointing to Mohbad’s killer.

In his words:
“Someone tell that prose narrator there’s already public suspense and he must finish the prose. Even I am waiting for the epilogue, cos he already raised my hope he’s going to show us what k!lled my brother Moh in the house but which was hidden from me.”

Adura added that he had already given full testimony to the police and the coroner during the investigation, but now expects Verydarkman to back up his bold claims with facts or face legal consequences.

“But this sudden online witness, investigator, prosecutor and magistrate combined must help us with what happened beyond our own knowledge of the event. If he doesn’t tell it to the public like he already raised wide suspense and set minds up against me while adding to the grief, then he will have to tell it to a court, someday!” he added.
