BBNaija Star, Phyna Fights Dirty at Hotel Over Alleged N200,000 Dispute (Video)

Former Big Brother Naija winner, Ijeoma Josephina Otabor aka Phyna has been caught engaging in fight at a hotel in Abuja.
This followed a disagreement over an alleged N200,000.
Information gathered revealed that the confrontation began in the early hours of Tuesday inside Phyna’s hotel room in Abuja, before spilling into the lobby, attracting the attention of guests and staff.
Sources claimed the dispute stemmed from an unsettled financial issue involving N200,000, which quickly escalated into a shouting match.
The argument reportedly intensified when neither party was willing to back down, leading to pushing and chaos within the hotel premises.
Eyewitnesses further alleged that the situation worsened after others connected to the individuals involved joined the confrontation, turning the verbal exchange into a physical clash.

The incident comes shortly after Phyna returned to the public eye following a brief break to mourn the death of her sister, who died in an accident involving a Dangote truck.

Why I Prefer to Raise Kids in Nigeria – M.I Abaga

Nigerian rapper and music executive, M.I Abaga has opened up that he prefers to raise his kids in Nigeria.

According to him, the reason is the country’s strong sense of family and community.

Abaga further stated that Nigeria offers a more supportive environment for raising children compared to some Western countries.
The rapper added that the communal lifestyle in Nigeria makes parenting easier, as relatives are often available to help.
He said, “There are a lot of things appealing about home, especially because we’re already ingrained in that system. There’s a lot of support as well. I feel it’s very difficult for parents here.

“But if you have family, now you have enough people that can stay at home and support you. But it’s not easy, man.”
M.I contrasted this with life abroad, particularly in the United States, where many people work long hours and family members may not be available to offer help.
He added that while he understands the appeal of raising kids overseas, Nigeria provides a stronger foundation for children to understand their roots and culture before gaining exposure abroad.
Although M.I noted that he is not yet making concrete family plans, he emphasized that Nigeria’s close-knit culture remains one of its greatest advantages when it comes to raising children.

Osimhen fires hat-trick as Nigeria crush Benin 4-0 to reach World Cup Playoffs

Nigeria cruised to a dominant 4–0 victory over Benin Republic on Tuesday night at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo, wrapping up their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying campaign in emphatic fashion.

Despite the one-sided win, the Super Eagles narrowly missed out on automatic qualification but secured a playoff berth, keeping their World Cup dream alive regardless of results elsewhere in Group C.

Osimhen steals the show with clinical hat-trick

Victor Osimhen was at his ruthless best, opening the scoring in the 3rd minute after connecting with Samuel Chukwueze’s cross.

The Napoli forward doubled the lead in the 37th minute with a towering header, again assisted by Chukwueze, before completing his hat-trick six minutes into the second half from a precise Moses Simon delivery.

Frank Onyeka capped off the dominant display in stoppage time, firing into the top corner from another Simon assist to seal the 4–0 rout.

Super Eagles dominate in style

Nigeria controlled the contest from start to finish, combining sharp attacking play with disciplined defending.

Benin struggled to cope with the Super Eagles’ high press and tempo, resorting to a series of fouls that earned them multiple yellow cards.

Coach Eric Chelle’s well-timed substitutions, introducing Tolu Arokodare and Onyeka helped maintain intensity and focus until the final whistle.

Focus shifts to playoffs

The result saw Nigeria finish second in Group C with 17 points, just one behind South Africa, who topped the table on 18.

While they fell short of direct qualification, the Super Eagles’ convincing win ensures momentum heading into the CAF playoff round, where they will fight for a place at the 2026 FIFA World Cup in Canada, Mexico, and the United States.

Strike: ASUU Reacts to FG’s No-Work-No-Pay Directive

The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has reacted to the Federal Government’s recent directive of ‘no work, no pay’ policy.
ASUU urged the Minister of Education, Tunji Alausa, to focus on resolving the ongoing dispute with the union instead of issuing threats.
This comes barely 24 hours after university lecturers embarked on a two-week warning strike to press home their demands.
ASUU President, Chris Piwuna, while speaking as a guest on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Monday, dismissed the Federal Government’s ‘No Work, No Pay’ directive, insisting that the union will not be intimidated by threats.
Piwuna said the union remained united and would not succumb to the government’s attempt to divide the academic community.
According to him, all academic bodies, such as the National Association of Medical and Dental Academics (NAMDA) and the Congress of Nigerian University Academics (CONUA), were standing together in support of the strike action.
He said, “We don’t respond to threats, and nobody can threaten us.

“He is threatening us, writing to NAMDA and CONUA, telling them they can get their salaries. He wants to divide us, but we are united in this matter.

“CONUA is with us, NAMDA is with us, SSANU is with us, NASU is with us. The polytechnics and colleges of education are also with us.”

Piwuna also hinted that the union remained open to dialogue and was ready to engage with the Federal Government.
He added, “He has got something coming. He had better sit down and solve this problem or he will fail in trying to divide us.

“Today, I received a call from the Minister of State for Labour. She said she has been directed to intervene and get this matter resolved. ASUU is willing. We are ready and available to discuss this matter once and for all.”
