This was revealed by Patrice Motsepe, the president of the Confederation of African Football, CAF, on Saturday.

But after the 2027 edition in East Africa and the next one in 2028, it will switch to a four-year cycle.

“We have the most exciting new structure for African football,”

Why I Lost To Anthony Joshua – Jake Paul Speaks After His Knockout Defeat

YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul has suggested reasons for his loss to British fighter Anthony Joshua on Friday.

Paul admitted he was fatigued during the fight and lacked the best cardio, praising Joshua for his great performance and powerful punches.

In their Miami fight, Paul sustained a fractured jaw as he endured six rounds against the two-time heavyweight champion.

The 28-year-old American was knocked down four times during the fight.

In his post-fight interview, Paul stated (via Metro UK), “My [jaw] is definitely broken. But man, that was good.

“I love this, so I will come back and get a world championship belt at some point and I’m not surprised [I lasted long against Joshua]. I just got tired.

“It was just so much handling his weight. If I had better cardio, I could’ve maybe kept on fighting. But he did amazing, and hits really hard.”

BREAKING: Nigerians, Others Stopped From Applying For Green Card, Citizenship In US — Report

The United States government has temporarily halted the processing of legal immigration applications from Nigerians and citizens of other countries recently added to the U.S. “travel ban” proclamation, CBC News reports.

The move mainly affects immigrants who hail from certain African and Asian countries, and it further escalates a wide-ranging crackdown on legal immigration expanded by the Trump administration this month.

Many of those affected by the pause are likely to be legal immigrants who are currently in the US and are seeking to change their status or become citizens.

Earlier in December, the Trump administration directed US Citizenship and Immigration Services to completely freeze all immigration petitions — including requests for American citizenship and permanent residency — made by those already in the US who are nationals of the 19 countries he banned or restricted travel from in June. That order is colloquially known as the “travel ban.”

It was one of several immigration restrictions the administration announced in the wake of the Thanksgiving week shooting of two National Guard soldiers in Washington, D.C., an attack allegedly carried out by an Afghan national.

The administration also suspended all decisions for asylum cases handled by USCIS and the processing of all immigration and visa requests by Afghans.

Also, on Tuesday, Trump expanded that “travel ban” proclamation to include 20 additional nations, fully barring immigrants and travellers from five new countries and partially restricting the entry of people from another 15 nations.

Speaking with CBS News on Friday, a US official who requested anonymity to discuss internal changes that have not been formally announced said UCIS has expanded its suspension of immigration cases to include the new nationalities added to Trump’s proclamation on Tuesday.

The pause will now affect nationals of Burkina Faso, Mali, Niger, South Sudan and Syria, the new countries facing full travel bans.

It will also impact those hailing from Angola, Antigua and Barbuda, Benin, Cote d’Ivoire, Dominica, Gabon, Gambia, Malawi, Mauritania, Nigeria, Senegal, Tanzania, Tonga, Zambia and Zimbabwe.

The last set of countries face partial restrictions under the latest proclamation.

Previously, the suspension of immigration cases applied to nationals of Afghanistan, Burundi, Chad, Cuba, the Republic of the Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Haiti, Iran, Libya, Laos, Myanmar, Sierra Leone, Somalia, Sudan, Togo, Turkmenistan, Yemen and Venezuela.

In his latest proclamation, Trump imposed a full entry ban on citizens of Laos and Sierra Leone, which previously faced partial restrictions.

In a statement posted on social media late Thursday, USCIS Director Joseph Edlow appeared to reference the expansion.

“USCIS is conducting a comprehensive review of anyone from anywhere who poses a threat to the US, including those identified in the President’s latest proclamation to restore law and order in our nation’s immigration system,”Edlow wrote.

Taken together, Trump’s latest “travel ban” decree affects nationals of over 60% of the countries in Africa and roughly 20% of all nations across the globe.

Trump has argued the broad restrictions are designed to safeguard national security and address concerns about the ability to vet people from the affected nations.

However, the decision has stirred conversations among Nigerians with many denouncing the move as unfair, and exaggerated, while largely dismissing the security and religious freedom concerns cited by Washington.

Commentaries stressed diplomatic embarrassment and potential economic harm, while disputing or downplaying the security rationale laid out by US officials who visited Nigerians.

Former senator, Shehu Sani, described the move as “a clear signal that migrants from developing countries are no longer welcome.”

We’ll Arm State Police, Forest Rangers To Defeat Terrorists, Bandits – Tinubu Vows

President Bola Tinubu, in his quest to end the decade-long security challenges in Nigeria, has declared that the operatives of the proposed state police would be well armed.

The president spoke during the All Progressives Congress, APC, National Executive Committee, NEC, meeting held on Friday at the State House Conference Centre, Abuja.

Tinubu also revealed plans to establish forest rangers, stating that they will also be equipped with arms to end terrorism and banditry in Nigeria.

He said, “We are going for state police. We will do forest rangers. We will arm them. We will defeat those terrorists and bandits, we must do that”.

Following the recent surge in killings and other activities of the criminal elements causing mayhem across the country, the president promised to establish local police in states.

Although there are some stakeholders who are still sceptical about the effectiveness of the state police owing to possible abuse by state governors, the National Assembly has also thrown its weight behind the establishment of the local force.

Jake Paul Hospitalized After Suffering Knockout Defeat To Anthony Joshua

Popular American boxer, Jake Paul was rushed to hospital after his fight with Anthony Joshua.

Jake was hospitalized after he suffered a suspected fractured jaw following his six-round loss to Joshua, a former world heavyweight champion, in Miami.

The 28-year-old YouTuber-turned-professional boxer displayed resilience and determination throughout the bout but was ultimately overpowered by Joshua’s superior size and punching strength.

Speaking after the fight, Paul revealed concerns that his jaw may have been broken, a claim later confirmed by his promoter, Nakisa Bidarian, who said medical evaluation was required and recovery could take between four and six weeks.

Despite the setback, Paul struck an optimistic tone in his post-fight remarks.

“I feel good. It was fun, and I genuinely love this sport,” he said, while sharing graphic images and videos on social media highlighting the physical toll of the contest.

The former cruiserweight contender stated that he intends to take a brief rest period before resuming his career, with his sights still set on challenging for a cruiserweight world title.

“We’ll heal the jaw, come back stronger and fight opponents in my weight class. Anthony Joshua is a great champion. I lost, but that’s part of boxing. I’ll return and keep pushing forward,”
Paul said.

Reflecting on the fight itself, Paul admitted fatigue played a major role in the outcome.

“I got tired trying to manage his size and weight. With better conditioning, I think I could have lasted longer. I gave it everything I had,”
he added.

I Am Not Looking For Marriage, It Is Overrated – Nollywood Actress, Yvonne Jegede Says (Video)

Yvonne Jegede, the popular Nollywood actress, has disclosed her stance on marriage, claiming that it is “overrated.”

The 42-year-old movie star said she is open to remarriage but not looking for it.

Jegede disclosed this in a recent interview with Naija FM Lagos.

“I am open to remarriage if it comes, but I am not looking for it. I have learnt not to say ‘never’,”
she explained.

“I think marriage is overrated. A lot of people who dated for 10 to 15 years, got married and they broke up within 2 to 3 years. Sometimes, you wonder why such couples didn’t just remain unmarried. Because when they add the marriage tag, a lot of intolerance gets in the way.

“I think it is better to find who you love and just cohabit with them,” she added.

Recall that Yvonne Jegede’s marriage to her colleague, Olakunle Abounce Fawole, ended in 2019 after less than a year.

She cited financial imbalance and her ex-husband’s inability to handle or respect her as reasons for their separation.

Jegede also revealed in a previous interview that she was the primary provider and regretted choosing love over financial stability.

Anthony Joshua Knocks Out Jake Paul In Round Six Of Miami Heavyweight Showdown

British-Nigerian heavyweight boxer of Nigerian heritage, Anthony Joshua, scored a sixth-round knockout against Jake Paul in their heavyweight clash at the Kaseya Center in Miami early Saturday morning.

The 36-year-old two-time world champion recorded his 29th win in 33 professional fights with the victory.

The eight-round bout, a tune-up fight for Joshua and a commercial event against the YouTuber-turned-boxer Paul, was a mismatch from the first bell.

Paul danced around the ring from the start and clinched at every close contact, but the 28-year-old managed to land a few shots while Joshua looked for the big blow to end the fight early.

Joshua made headway in the second round with his jab and body shots as he stalked Paul through the ring, a recurring theme until the fifth round where he successfully knocked his opponent down twice.

A punch to the body dropped Paul to the canvas, before Joshua unloaded multiple shots that caused the second knockdown as he looked to close out the fight against a tired opponent.

Joshua finally secured the knockout in the sixth round, dropping Paul multiple times, before a clean shot ended the fight as the referee stopped the contest after Paul failed to beat the count.

The victory is Joshua’s first on American soil since his previous loss to Andy Ruiz Jr., while the Sagamu native also improved his knockout record to 26 KOs in his 29 wins. He landed 48 punches to Paul’s 16 in the six-round bout.

Speaking after what he called a victory that cleared the “cobwebs,” Joshua called out fellow British boxer Tyson Fury as he seeks a major fight in 2026.

“We shook off the cobwebs,” he started. “I can’t wait for 2026.

“If Tyson Fury is as serious as he says he is, and he wants to put down his Twitter fingers and put on some gloves, and come and fight one of the realest fighters out there, step into there with me next if you’re a really bad boy.”
