Al-Nassr Score 6 Goals to Beat Pakhtakor 6-2 Without Ronaldo

Cristiano Ronaldo sat out Al-Nassr’s 6-2 win over Pakhtakor of Uzbekistan in the AFC Champions League on Monday.

Coach Ange Postecoglou rested him, along with Kingsley Coman and Mohamed Simakan.

He said the decision was made because of the heavy schedule and the long travel.

The team’s trip came amid security worries in the region.

Houthi missile attacks on Saudi Arabia have disrupted recent Al-Nassr matches.

Their last home game was delayed by an hour, and a later match against Al-Wasl was postponed.

João Félix scored twice in Tashkent.

Abdullah Al-Hamdan opened the scoring, and Abdulelah Al-Amri and Abdulrahman Ghareeb added goals after the break.

Flamarion pulled one back for Pakhtakor, and Dostonbek Khamdamov and Ângelo also found the net.

The win was Al-Nassr’s second in the competition and moved them to fourth in the West Region table with six points.

Ronaldo scored a hat-trick in Al-Nassr’s 5-3 league win over Al-Kholood last Thursday.

That took his career tally to 985 goals and gave him nine goals in 12 appearances this season.
