Famous Nigerian singer and producer, John Saviours Udomboso, popularly known as Young Jonn, has shared the unexpected journey that led him to become an artiste.
The 29-year-old singer, known for hits like ‘Bahamas’ and ‘Aquafina,’ revealed that his transition from producing to performing was not a planned career move but rather a result of unforeseen circumstances in his life.
“I never really planned to be an artiste, but life played out,” Young Jonn said.
He explained that his foray into the music industry as a performer was an accidental journey rather than a deliberate choice.
Discussing his shift from producing to performing, Young Jonn described the experience as a learning curve.
“It’s a whole different ball game. It’s a whole different hustle, grind, and business. It took me time, but I think I’m getting hold of it,” he added.

Popular Nigerian artist, Young Jonn has spoken about his transition from a music producer to a singer.
In an interview with Isi Ijewere for her YouTube show, Backstage Banter, he shared some personal insights.
When asked about the hardest part of becoming a singer, Young Jonn said, “The hardest part was self-conviction, actually convincing myself that I could do it.” He explained that he often questioned himself on stage, wondering if he really wanted to perform.
The interview also touched on some personal topics. Young Jonn mentioned that the last time he cried was when he lost his mother. He also admitted that everyone, including himself, sometimes lies to themselves to feel better.
When asked about what he dislikes most in people, Young Jonn said, “I don’t like people who are not true to themselves.” He believes that being honest with yourself is important for being honest with others.

Nigerians have reacted on social media after Afrobeat singer Young Jonn was spotted dancing alongside Davido’s cousin, Adenike Adeleke.

Udomboso Young Jonn is the stage name of Nigerian record producer and audio engineer John Saviours.
He is primarily known for producing “Story For The Gods,” a critically acclaimed hit off Olamide’s Street OT album.
One of the top record producers in the Nigerian music scene is Young Jonn. This is a consensus among all music fans.
The young and gifted man shifted to singing at the beginning of this year and has since released singles that have topped the charts.
However, after signing a recording contract with Chocolate City Music, Young Jonn produced the 4-track album “Love is Not Enough.”
Hit songs including “Normally” and “Dada,” which later had a remix version with Nigerian music sensation Davido, were taken from the body of work.
More recently, he released “Xtral Cool,” a love-themed song that is now climbing the charts.
Young is a better producer in my opinion, as well as a talented vocalist and composer. He has demonstrated that he is adaptable and diligent.
After all of that, we would like to hear from you.
