“I don’t believe in buying expensive clothes” — Davido’s sister Sharon

Sharon Adeleke, the sister of Nigerian singer Davido, has announced her decision to stop working directly with Nigerian fashion designers, citing the high cost of clothing.

Sharon, who will turn 40 next year, said she no longer believes in spending excessively on clothes, questioning whether expensive fashion items are worth their prices.

“I don’t really believe in buying expensive clothes personally. I believe there are some things that are worth it,” she said.

“When I hear that a wedding dress costs $10,000—or even a wedding guest dress—I wonder if it’s really worth it.”

Sharon reveals wedding expenses

Recalling her wedding, Sharon disclosed that her husband paid $2,000 for her wedding dress, while she covered the cost of her bridesmaids’ dresses and other expenses.

“I remember that for my wedding, my husband paid $2,000 for my dress, while I paid for all my bridesmaids’ dresses and everything else,” she said.

Sharon explained that she had 13 bridesmaids and also paid for the outfits of four or five hostesses.

“I had 13 bridesmaids, and I also paid for the hostesses’ dresses, which added another four or five people. Altogether, I spent less than $10,000 on the entire thing,” she added.

Why Sharon is changing her fashion choices

The businesswoman said her experience had reinforced her decision to be more careful about how much she spends on clothing.

“Everything! That brings me back to my point. I just feel there are certain things I’m no longer willing to spend so much money on. I don’t believe in buying overly expensive clothes,” she said.

Sharon also revealed that she had made a firm decision ahead of her 40th birthday to stop working directly with Nigerian designers.

“I’m turning 40 next year, and I’ve made an executive decision. Unfortunately, I’m sorry to say this, but I will no longer be working directly with Nigerian designers,” she stated.

It Takes More Than Just Money To Be Successful — Billionaire Daughter, Sharon Adeleke Opens Up (Video)

Sharon Adeleke, the Nigerian billionaire daughter, has shared a candid reflection on success, wealth, and self-doubt.

In a recent post, Sharon revealed that she once struggled internally, questioning why success didn’t come easily for her despite having access to opportunities, networks, and funding that many people could only dream of.

She admitted that she often compared herself to others who started businesses with just a few thousand dollars and went on to build million-dollar companies — while she, who started with far more resources, felt stuck.

According to Sharon, a conversation with her therapist helped shift her perspective.

Her therapist reminded her that “you don’t know what you don’t know,” explaining that at the time, she lacked certain lessons, awareness, and life experiences that money alone could not provide.
