Fela: ‘I Like Wizkid, He Is My Padi’ – Yeni Kuti Reacts To Singer’s Clash With Seun Kuti (Video)

Yeni Kuti, the eldest child of the late Afrobeat legend Fela Anikulapo Kuti, has finally responded to Wizkid’s online clash with her brother, Seun Kuti.

Recall that Seun Kuti started dragging Wizkid’s fanbase popularly known as Wizkid FC last week for comparing the singer’s legacy and influence with that of his father, late Fela Kuti.

The fight escalated on the sixth day of the constant dragging when Seun dared Wizkid to prove he truly cared for his fans by protecting them from him.

Breaking silence in solidarity to his fans, Wizkid told Seun that “I’m bigger than your father”, and challenged Seun Kuti to do his worst.

His response sparked controversy online, with many blaming Seun for pushing the singer to the wall while some netizens including some of Fela’s children berated Wizkid for disrespecting the late legend.

The development which led to public debate on Wizkid and Fela’s legacy and influence sparked mixed reactions among Nigerian celebrities.

However, amid the controversy, Yeni Kuti, speaking on ‘Your View’ program on TVC, on Thursday, said she refused to involve herself in the fight with Wizkid because the singer is her close friend and she loves him a lot.

Speaking about Wizkid’s longtime relationship with Fela’s family, Yeni, who said “Wizkid is my padi”, further urged the public to come together to celebrate Fela at this year Grammy awards.

Yeni said, “I love Wizkid a lot. You know, Wizkid is my padi now. When two giants fight, it’s the grass that suffers. I refuse to enter some of the insults that they are hauling because I love Wizkid a lot. Wizkid is my padi now and my so friend. We have come a long way together. I remember when we started that shrine, he was a backup singer and the shrine during Felabration.

“So, there’s no way I can ever no like Wizkid. I like him and I wish at the beginning, he had quickly put a stop to it but he didn’t. Let’s mend fences , we are one people. We’re just about to go and celebrate our icon at the Grammy and you’re all doing as if you are trying to dent it. It’s not Fela or Fela family that you are denting, it’s all Nigeria. Did you Bob Marley people do that? They don’t do that.

“Whichever way you look at it, this one is bigger than Fela, that one is bigger than Fela. He started the journal of music, he’s an icon, and so if you have problems, why are you attacking him? He has done his own, he has gone. What people don’t understand is Fela has been dead for 27 years. And you are still mentioning his name. That’s just answer to his greatness. So let’s just respect that. Fight yourselves you that are alive and leave the man that has done his own and gone.”

Prayer Doesn’t Work; I Have Never Prayed Before In My Life – Nigerian Singer, Seun Kuti Claims (Video)

Seun Kuti, the Afrobeat star, has shared his views on prayer, revealing that he does not believe in it.

In a recent video broadcast via his Instagram account, Kuti stated that he has never prayed before.

According to him, praying is childish. He argued that choices and actions are what shape an individual’s and not prayers.

“I have never prayed before in my life. I don’t know how to pray. I don’t believe it works. Your life is your prayer. Praying in the public or aloud is eye service. It is childishness,”
he claimed.

“Your life is the prayer. What you do with your life is your prayer. That is the only prayer. Your action is prayer. Somebody say so you don’t believe in God?

“This concept of God that most people have is why prayer is even now completely noid and void. Because this God you talked about, you claimed he has already written down what is going to happen from the beginning to end; his will must be done.

“So, except your prayer aligns with his will… If your prayer does not align with the will of this your God, then your prayer will not be answered. But clerics won’t tell you this because they want to exploit you.

“I solve my problems. I don’t pray over my problems. If prayer solves problems, prisons and hospitals would be empty,” he added.

Why Stressing My Daughter Benefits Me – Seun Kuti

Singer Seun Kuti has opened up that he loves stressing his daughter.
According to him, he enjoys it.
Speaking in an interview with NotJustOk Originals on YouTube, the singer revealed that his favorite place to be is at home because that’s where he gets to “stress” his daughter.
“Most parents don’t know that why your kids stress you is because you don’t stress them first. Let me give you parenting tips now, these children think that because they are small, they don’t have sense, so they can stress you. ‘You’re just a baby’ quickly reverse it. Be the stress in your child’s life. That’s my most fun thing to do – to just be at home, stress her so she has no time to stress me,”he said.
He also added that when he’s not at home, performing on stage gives him a similar sense of control and fulfillment.
“Other than that, I love being on stage. The stage is also like a place I have full control where I’m also stressing a bunch of people. I take it from the house to the stage. So yeah, that’s me – stresser,” he said.
