Rema, the world-famous Nigerian singer, has stated that the Nigerian music industry no longer has a ‘Big 3’,
The term ‘Big 3’ is often used to used to describe the top 3 Nigerian artistes who are widely said to be Davido, Wizkid and Burna Boy.
However, in a tweet he shared, Rema stated that there is now a Big 4, insinuating that he is now the fourth artiste in the top conversation.
He tweeted; “No more Big 3 there’s now a Big 4.
“Afrobeat >> AfroAnything”
Divine Ikubor, the Nigerian singer, who is popularly known as Rema, has issued a stern warning to fellow celebrities copying his fashion style.
Rema claimed that some celebrities and their stylists were sending emails to clothing brands asking them to make replicas of his outfits for them.
He threatened to disrupt their shows and strip them if they did not desist from copying his style.
On his X handle on Saturday, the ‘Calm Down’ singer wrote: “Tell your stylists to stop sending mails to brands with my name to get clothes imma pull up to your show and strip u on stage cuz that’s my shit HOE! fake celebrities, fake industry.”
Nigerian artist Rema, also known as Divine Ikubor, has disclosed his visual impairment.
That’s why he wears spectacles, he claimed.
The “Calm Down” singer revealed that his inability to focus on close objects is caused by long-sightedness, which requires the usage of spectacles.
In an interview with Capital Xtra conducted on the 2024 Brit Awards red carpet in London, the United Kingdom, he revealed this.
“Tell us a secret, anything that you’ve never told anyone else,” the host enquired.
Rema answered, “I wear glasses.” My condition is long-sightedness.
Nigerian artists Omah Lay, Asake, and Rema have found a place in Liverpool defender Virgil Van Dijk’s list of favorite songs.
The playlist was curated for the EFL Carabao Cup Final 2024 and shared via EFL’s Tiktok page.
Late American rapper, The Notorious B.I.G and Mase were the only non-Nigerians featured in the list.
The Dutch defender explained that the playlist is dominated by Afrobeats because he loves to have nice vibes.
Van Dijk said, “Hi, my name is Virgil Van Dijk and these are my top five tracks.
“Number one is Omah Lay with ‘Holy Ghost.’ Dope! Listen to it. It keeps you in the mood. The second one would be Mase with ‘Feel So Good.’ Very good classic. Unbelievable! Then the third one will be The Notorious B.I.G with ‘Mo Money Mo Problems.’ Nice vibes, you know what I mean?

Divine Ikubor, the famous Afrobeats singer, who is popularly known as Rema has assured Tony Elumelu, the billionaire businessman, that he would bring home the 2024 Grammys.
This commitment was made following Rema’s visit to the billionaire’s multimillion naira mansion where he was well received by Elumelu and his beloved family.
In a video posted on the billionaire’s Instagram story, Elumelu expressed excitement at Rema’s surprise visit.
In a video clip, Rema was captured interacting with the billionaire’s wife and sons, who posed for a photo with the acclaimed singer.
During the visit, Rema presented an exclusive album copy and his merchandise (Air Rema) as gifts, assuring Elumelu of clinching the 2024 Grammys.
Rema also conveyed his gratitude to Elumelu for his significant impact and support in the music industry, emphasizing the immense value it holds for him.
He said: “Thank you for what you have done and the support you have for the music industry. I am grateful, it means a lot to me. This year I am bringing the Grammy.”
Nigerian Afrobeats star, Davido has reacted after his colleague, Rema stated that he would be cancelling all shows in December to focus on his health.
Recall that the ‘Calm Down’ crooner’ in a terse statement via his Instagram page on Wednesday, stated that he has neglected his health and needs to recuperate.
Rema noted that during his years of touring, he had ignored his health, adding that it was time to recuperate.
He wrote, “Breaks my heart to say that I won’t be performing anywhere this December. Been years of touring I’ve ignored my health & I need time to recuperate. 2024 we go again love.”
Reacting, Davido, in a post via Instagram, said their job is not easy and applauded Rema for exceeding expectations and making Africa proud.
He wrote: “The job ain’t easy…physically and mentally!!. You’ve done Africa and the world proud beyond expectations. Get some rest king @heisrema come back stronger.”
Superstar Nigerian artists, Davido and Rema made the country proud as they bagged several awards at the maiden edition of the Trace Awards, which took place in Kigali, Rwanda, on Saturday, October 21, 2023.
The award seeks to celebrate the creativity, talent, and influence of African and Afro-inspired music and artistes.
During the ceremony yesterday, Rema won the ‘Song of the Year’ category for the hit song ‘Calm Down’ while the ‘Best Global African Artiste’ was a tie between the Nigerian and Nomcebo.
Davido on his part, emerged as the winner of the ‘Best Male’ and ‘Best Collaboration’ categories while Burna Boy won ‘Album of the Year’.
The awards ceremony was hosted by Nigerian singer, D’Banj, and Angolan global supermodel, Maria Borges.

Afrobeats star, Davido has hailed his junior colleague, Rema for breaking records in the United States of America.
During a recent interview on UAE’s #1 Music Station The Kris Fade Show, O.B.O, as widely called by fans expressed shock at how ‘Calm Down‘ by Rema held it down on U.S. charts.
Davido stated that it beat his imagination that Afrobeat has grown globally and that he’s proud to see stars like Rema killing it across the globe.
“Years ago, I never thought a Nigerian artiste would have a Top 5 record in America. Rema has had Top 5 records in America for the past eight months, non-shaken,” he stated.
It is worth noting that Rema’s ‘Calm Down’ and its remix featuring Selena Gomez recently achieved a new feat as the first Nigerian song to stay a year on U.S. Billboard.
