Pastor Chris Okafor Dares Actress Doris Ogala, VDM To Submit Evidence Or Face Prosecution

The legal team of Lagos-based cleric Chris Okafor has urged Nollywood actress Doris Ogala, social media influencer Martins Vincent Otse, known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), and other bloggers to provide evidence supporting their allegations against him to the Nigerian Police, warning that failure to do so could lead to criminal prosecution.

Addressing journalists in Lagos on Wednesday, counsel to the cleric, Ife Ajayi, Lead Partner at Sovereignty LP, described the allegations circulating on social media as false, malicious and part of what he termed a coordinated campaign of cyberbullying, blackmail and public incitement.

Ajayi said the allegations, which gained renewed traction in December 2025, originated from Ogala and were amplified by bloggers and digital platforms without seeking his client’s response.

“Our client is a private citizen and a law-abiding Nigerian. What has played out is not advocacy or responsible journalism, but a calculated attempt to try him in the court of public opinion,”
Ajayi said.

Tracing the origin of the matter, Ajayi said it began in late 2024 following a business engagement involving Ogala and a third party, from which Pastor Okafor later disengaged after concluding that the expected outcome could not be achieved.

He said Ogala subsequently alleged that the cleric owed her ₦45 million, a claim he described as unfounded.

According to Ajayi, the allegations later evolved from monetary claims to alleged romantic involvement and, eventually, accusations bordering on criminal conduct.

“Each time one allegation failed to gain traction, another followed. It was a systematic attempt to see what would stick,”
he said.

Ajayi disclosed that Ogala had previously been arrested and charged for cyberstalking, cyberbullying and threats over similar online conduct, a matter that was later resolved through an out-of-court settlement adopted by the court.

He said under the terms of the settlement, Ogala received an agreed sum and undertook not to contact or mention Pastor Okafor publicly.

“At no point during those proceedings did she allege rape, sexual assault or an affair. Those claims only emerged after the settlement was allegedly breached,”
he stated.

The lawyer said fresh complaints were lodged with the Nigeria Police following renewed online attacks, leading to Ogala’s arrest and interrogation shortly before Christmas 2025.

According to him, Ogala denied some of the more serious allegations attributed to her online during police questioning and requested legal representation.

“She was later granted administrative bail on medical grounds and warned not to return to social media with unsubstantiated claims,”
Ajayi said.

He alleged that despite the warning, fresh allegations resurfaced online, including claims of sexual offences and the presentation of individuals as victims.

Ajayi accused VDM and other platforms of abusing their influence by soliciting allegations from the public and presenting them as established facts.

“You cannot be the accuser, investigator, prosecutor and judge at the same time. Allegations of rape or murder must be reported to law enforcement,” he said.

He added that formal criminal complaints had been filed against individuals spreading the allegations and that dozens of social media accounts were under monitoring.

Ajayi stressed that Pastor Okafor had cooperated fully with police investigations, honoured all invitations and provided evidence countering allegations of rape, child abuse or murder.

He said the Lagos State Commissioner of Police directed the State Criminal Investigation Department, Panti, to handle the matter, adding that the cleric was released after responding to inquiries.

“There was never a case of evading police invitation,”
 he said.

Ajayi challenged Ogala, VDM and others to submit their allegations and evidence to the police.

“If they believe their claims, let them present evidence to law enforcement. Otherwise, we will pursue all available legal remedies,”
he warned.

He urged the public to allow the police to conclude investigations and cautioned against mob justice driven by social media narratives.

“This is a society governed by law. Social media outrage cannot replace investigation, evidence and trial,”
he said.

Stepping Down Is Not Enough, You Must Confess What Happened To My Brother – Doris Ogala Tells Pastor Chris Okafor (Video)

Nollywood actress Doris Ogala has declined the apology offered by Pastor Chris Okafor, who recently announced a temporary break from his pastoral duties.

Earlier, Tori News reported that the Mountain of Liberation and Miracle Ministry Pastor stepped aside from handling church services.

During a recent service, a video showed the pastor telling his members that other ministers would handle church activities throughout January while he takes time off for prayers, rest, and family time.

He also stated that he and his wife had not taken time off since their wedding.

Ogala, who has been vocal about her grievances, emphasized that the pastor stepping aside is not sufficient to address the deeper issues she has raised, particularly regarding the mysterious death of her younger brother.

Ogala called on the pastor to come forward with answers and said she is determined to bring attention to the circumstances surrounding her brother’s passing.

She stated that the apology and the pastor’s temporary leave are not enough to ease her pain, and she intends to present evidence to support her claims.

She said in a video: “Many people have said that he left me and married another person, that he detained me, that he sent my nude pictures, and that he apologised, so I should let it go. It does not work like that. Chris Okafor should come and explain to me what happened to my brother. Stepping down from the church is not enough.

“I heard that he stepped down from the altar for one month and handed over to his assistant pastor, but that is not enough for me. Chris Okafor, stepping down from the altar, is not enough. You have to explain to me what happened to my brother, the role you played and how my brother was poisoned. I have all the evidence, and I am going to play everything: voice recordings and all the plots.

“You have a long battle coming. No matter what, you had no right to go that far with me. I did nothing to you. People said I should forgive, but what am I leaving behind? If I leave everything, will the money he gives me bring my brother back?

“This is just the beginning. We have not started yet, Chris. Just hold on. I will be displaying everything. You will tell me what happened to my brother. What offence did he commit? Did he have anything to do with you? Why did you hurt me this much? Stepping down from the altar is not enough for me.”

I Will Be Resting – Pastor Chris Okafor Takes Break From Ministerial Duties Amid Allegations, Scandal (Video)

Pastor Chris Okafor, founder of Grace Nation International, also known as Liberation City, has taken a temporary break from his ministerial duties.

Okafor announced the development during the New Year service on Thursday, asking four pastors under him to take over from the month of January 2026.

The development comes amidst calls for the pastor to step down from his pastoral duties following reports of sexual allegation from former church members and also a relationship scandal involving actress, Doris Ogala.

But it is unclear if the decision has anything to do with the relationship scandal and ensuing allegations against the cleric.

Okafor said, “We have four Sundays in January, so, in the whole of these four Sundays, we would be having Pastor Sylvester, Pastor Kelvin, Pastor Oliver, and Shadrach minister to you and anoint you every Sunday because it’s going to be prophetic Sundays.

“So, they will be here. While they are here, I will be resting, and it will be time for a personal retreat with God and time for me and my wife to rest because since our wedding we have not rested, we’ve not had time, we have not even done honeymoon.”

The controversy trailing the pastor started immediately after a video of him getting engaged to his wife surfaced online.

Pastor Chris Okafor Sleeps With His Own Family Members – Ex-Wife Makes Startling Allegation (Video)

Bessem Agnes Okafor, the ex-wife of Pastor Chris Okafor, has accused the clergyman of fathering children with multiple women during their marriage.

The accusation comes hours after Okafor claimed that he caught his former partner committing adultery.

However, speaking during a Livestream with Aunty Adunni on YouTube, Bessem disclosed that she left the Lagos-based pastor 14 years ago after he had many children with his church members’ wives.

She accused Okafor of sleeping with deacons’ wives and choir members and advised the church members to conduct DNA tests on their children to prove her wrong.

She said, “My name is Bessem Agnes Okafor and I was married to Chris Okafor when I was 18 years old, and the people that conducted the marriage are still very much alive. The marriage produced three girls and a boy.

“This man took me in my prime as a wife and not as a side chic. We wedded traditionally then we had a wedding. He didn’t leave me, I left him because of the shame and the disgrace he brought to the body of Christ for so many years.

“I married him when he had nothing. But when the money came he brought out his real colour. He was sleeping with everybody in the church, choir mistress here and there, abusing and assaulting me, forgetting that I was the wife of his youth.

“I have been quiet for 14 years because of my respect for my children but when I couldn’t take it no more was when this idiot so called pastor, good for nothing human stood on the altar to lie that he met a lady that got pregnant the first time and the same lady came with the second pregnancy again. Why are you such a liar, a manipulator, a p@edophile, a r@pist? Even his own family members, he sleeps with them.

“The house help that I brought before I left my children, you were sleeping with her. She called me and said ‘aunty I cannot stand it no more, I have to leave the job and go back to Benue State’.

“Okafor, you are not coming with the truth. During our marriage, Okafor was sleeping with Anita Chioma one of the deaconess in his church for years. Immediately I left the house she moved in.”

Pastor Chris Okafor Opens Up On Divorce, Custody Battle And Allegations, Explain That Claims Only Surfaced After He Remarried

Senior Pastor of Grace Nation Church, Chris Okafor, has addressed his past marriage, the custody of his children, and the ongoing allegations surrounding him.

According to the clergyman, his divorce happened when his children were very young. He said one of his daughters was two years old at the time, while his son, Bobo, was four.

Okafor stated that the situation was so serious that the court granted him full custody of the children, while their mother was given access.

He revealed that since the divorce, he raised the children alone for over a decade. Bobo, he said, is now 17 and will turn 18 in March, while his other child, Chidera, is 15.

Pastor Okafor explained that after the divorce, he made a personal promise to his children that he would not remarry until they were grown. He said he kept that promise for 13 years, describing the period as difficult and filled with challenges, but insisted he stayed true to his word.

Addressing the controversy surrounding his remarriage, the pastor claimed that none of the allegations being circulated today existed throughout those 13 years. He alleged that the accusations only began after he decided to start a new chapter of his life.

He further claimed that his former wife had openly vowed to destroy him and his church, insisting that she was angry about him moving on. According to him, the situation is a coordinated attempt to damage his reputation.

Pastor Okafor firmly denied all allegations involving his daughter, stating clearly that nothing inappropriate ever happened under his care. He maintained that if any such incident had occurred, it would have been raised long ago and handled by law enforcement.

In an emotional moment, the pastor called his children forward and asked them directly if he had ever acted indecently towards them. He said they answered in the negative, insisting that the accusations were false.

He added that the ordeal has taken a heavy toll on him emotionally and mentally, noting that the past years have been extremely painful for him.
