Dear Santa,
I’m writing this letter on behalf of all Nigerians. I’m not here to request an iPad or a car, though if you could, that would be fantastic (especially the car, as I’m sick of riding the danfo bus). No, this is a request for a better Nigeria.
Honestly, Santa, I have beef with you. How do you have the power to give people whatever they want (as long as they’ve been good), and you haven’t given me the better Nigeria I’ve been asking for? I’ve been a good girl for so long: I’ve stopped stealing meat from the pot in the middle of the night, I now do chores without complaining. Meanwhile, our evil Nigerian leaders continue to acquire new cars, houses, vacations, and so on. Is it equitable? Who are you on?
I’ve returned to inquire. And I need you to come through for me and other Nigerians now more than ever. 2022 has been a particularly difficult year for us. ASUU went on strike for eight months, threatening students’ lives. Some even abandoned school to start their own businesses. This year, the national grid failed more times than people at a Michael Jackson concert. Electricity supply was limited, affecting business and other aspects of people’s daily lives. The answer is yes.
Then there was the insane inflation. Food prices seemed to double every week. Santa, Double Chickwizz is now 1,500 (it was 1,000 at the start of 2022), can you believe it? One pack of Indomie costs 140 (was 70), evaporated milk costs 600 (was 300), yam costs 2000 (was 800), and one egg costs 100 (was 50). Do you see how we’re suffering?
Also, insecurity is at an all-time high, with people being laid off or owed salaries for months, the naira depreciating, SARS still operating, and no one has responded to the Lekki tollgate massacre of 2020.
If you’re wondering what our leaders are doing about these issues, they’re out there being actors, influencers, travel bloggers, content creators, dancers, and jokers, devising policies that will make Nigerians’ lives even more difficult. And that’s why I’ve come to you for help, Santa. Can you make a new Nigeria your Christmas gift to all Nigerians? We’ve seen enough shege abeg.
Hi there guys
Because my WhatsApp status is filled with bling-bling images, around 1 million Nigerians flew to the UK last week.
When do people travel in this manner, huh?
Who can blame Africans, especially Nigerians, who are moving quickly to other nations, most notably the United Kingdom and the United States, in search of greener pastures?
With Nigeria’s current economic conditions, it is extremely difficult to exist in this region of the world.
Imagine that you are fortunate enough to travel to one of these nations of White Men and encounter a fellow Black person there.
What Can You Tell This Person Is Definitely A Nigerian By Looking At Them First?
Let’s hear from everyone.

The Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika revealed the federal government will make sure countries like UK, Saudi Arabia and Canada that put Nigeria on the Covid-19 Omicron variant redlist will be restricted from travelling into the country.
The minister also apologised to Nigerians who have been affected by the travel ban and noted the decision of the FG to reciprocate the ban is in the interest of the country.
he said;
“There is also the case of Saudi Arabia that put Nigeria on the ban list. On Sunday, I participated in a meeting with the COVID-19 task force,” NAN quoted the minister as saying.
We have given our input that it is not acceptable by us, and we recommended that those Canada, the UK, Saudi Arabia, and Argentina also be put on the red list.
As they did to us if they do not allow our citizens into their countries; who are they coming, as airlines, to pick from our country?
They are not supposed to come in. I am very sure in the next three days; Monday or Tuesday, all those countries will be put on the red list of COVID-19.”
Wizkid spoke about the success of his album, Made in Lagos when he was giving his speech after he received the award for Apple music African artiste of the year.
Big Wiz revealed he has been working on it for years and the album is not a different sound abut its more matured than what he used to make.
He said, “I felt it coming. I would say I’m lying if I didn’t feel it coming because it took me three years to work on that album. So I felt like there was going to be a shift, but I didn’t know how it would come. Because I knew that it was kind of like a different… it wasn’t a different sound, but it was a more matured sound from what I used to make. From when I was way young, man. I called my first album ‘Superstar.’ How confident can you be? So yeah. I was born to do this sh**, man.”
The international airline company released a statement less than a week after getting an all clear from the government to resume operations, they have decided to suspend operations in the country due to unfavorable conditions set and importantly they will be allowing UAE and Nigerian authorities sort things before coming back.
the statement reads;
“With the recently imposed directive limiting Emirates to operate one flight per week to Nigeria via Abuja, Emirates will be suspending its flights between Nigeria and Dubai from 13 December 2021, until the UAE and Nigerian authorities work on a solution to the ongoing issue. The last flights to operate on 12 December 2021are EK 783/784 to/from Lagos and EK 785/786 to/from Abuja. Emirates regrets any inconvenience caused. Emirates is committed to its operations in Nigeria, and we stand ready to reinstate services once restrictions are lifted by the Nigerian authorities, ensuring travelers have more choice and access to trade and tourism opportunities in Dubai and beyond to our network of over 120 destinations.”
The Minister on an interview with Channels Tv, revealed the Federal government is not happy with the hastiness and rationale for putting of Nigeria on its red list following the detection of the COVID-19 Omicron variant.
Dr Osagie Ehanire stated that the step the Uk government is taking is not helpful, because there hasn’t been report of any severe illness or fatalities and not much is known about the Covid-19 Variant.
He said;
“We were not very happy when six countries in Sub-Saharan Africa were placed on a red list and the WHO also advised against putting each on the red list.
“From what we know about the COVID-19, there are many ways to manage it, and besides, not much is still known about the Omicron variant. We know, for example, that there have been no fatalities. There have also been no reports of very severe illness. Actually, the rationale for being so hasty in putting countries on the red list is not something that is very helpful. It is going to disrupt commerce. It is going to disrupt family reunions. If every country were going to put other countries on the ban list, very soon you would have a large number of countries on your red list. So, I do believe there are other ways of going about it. We in Nigeria do not regard banning flights and movements of people as particularly helpful and supportive.”
The Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Fashola disclosed this during a TV interview with Arise Tv .
The former Lagos state Governor said ;
Fashola said;
“We have pilot housing projects in 34 states. We are now in some phases. Phases two and three have a total of over 5,000 housing units.
“There is an inherited pilot programme of about 6,000 units and in fact we’ve finished that as well, to give you about 11,000 units.
“There are interventions from mortgage and real estate developers by the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria of about 25,000 units across the country.
“And the Federal Housing Authority is also building and developing on its own and in partnership in many parts of the country.”
The 29 year old winger marked his 102 cap that took him past Yobo and Enyeama with a late goal from the penalty spot after Osimehen also put Nigeria ahead with a goal from the penalty spot.
Super eagles started the game quite stronger than Liberia in Tangier and it did not take long for them to open the scoring at the Stade Ibn Batouta.
Alot of the players were in fine form like goal kepper Maduka Okoye who made some eye catching saves to keep Super Eagles in the game and Everton midfielder Alex Iwobi was also in fine form but there was no place for the returning Odion Ighalo .
Nigeria now lead the group and are in good position to qualify for the 2022 wolrd cup in Qatar if they can avoid defeat at Teslim Balogun Stadium in Lagos on Tuesday as they entertain Cape Verde.
A new report released by Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) reveals that Nigeria’s oil output fell to about 1.23 million barrels per day in October from about 1.25 million bpd in the previous month, which confirmed Libya as the biggest producers of oil in Africa.
The decline in production of oil by Nigeria has been stated as the reason for the drop which was majorly felt with 45,000 bpd to 1.35 million bpd in October from about 1.40 million bpd in September, and it is reported that this is the second biggest drop in output in October among its peers in OPEC, after Iraq, based on direct communication.
OPEC said ‘; “Crude oil output increased mainly in Saudi Arabia, Venezuela, the UAE, and Kuwait, while production in Nigeria, Gabon and Equatorial Guinea declined. However, soft demand from Asian refiners for Atlantic Basin crude amid unfavorable west-to-east arbitrage capped the rise. Crude differentials of Bonny Light, Forcados, and Qua Iboe rose firmly on a monthly average in October by 70¢, $1.06, and 75¢, respectively, to stand at premiums of 10¢/b, 27¢/b, and 4¢/b.”
