How Can You Loot Public Funds Enough To Change The Standard Of Living Of The People You Ought To Serve Selflessly – Mr Macaroni Queries Nigerian Politicians

Popular Nigerian skit maker and activist, Debo Adedayo, better known as Mr Macaroni, has taken a swipe at corrupt politicians in the country who loot public funds for personal purposes.

The movie star, in a post via his X handle, alleged that Nigerian politicians have stolen and are still stealing billions of Naira from the nation’s purse.

Macaroni stated that despite no consequence for the politicians’ actions, it is painful that some Nigerians have continued to defend the acts of the politicians who do not care about the existence of the masses.

The thespian described the looting of public funds as ‘greed and wickedness’ and questioned how the country is supposed to get better when politicians are stealing from the treasury.

He wrote, “Nigerian Politicians have stolen and are still stealing billions and trillions from the Nation’s purse. Unfortunate enough as it is that there are Zero Consequences for these actions, it is torturous that the people whose treasury are being looted continue to defend Politicians who absolutely do not care about their existence.

“How can you comfortably loot public funds enough to change the standard of living of millions of the people you ought to serve selflessly?
What type of greed and wickedness is this? How exactly is the Country supposed to get better when our Politicians just want to steal!!!

“No integrity!!! No sense of purpose!! No accountability!!! Zero shame!!! Just hardened criminals in office!!! How did the people become so hopeless?”

Hunted And Executed: ‘We For Don Waste All Of Una For Here’ – Mr Macaroni Recounts Encounter With Police Officer

Popular Nigerian skit maker, Debo Adebayo, better known as Mr Macaroni, has recounted his harrowing encounter with the police after he was arrested in February 2021.

He stated that a Police officer threatened to kill him if he was not popular.

Macaroni made this known while reacting to the suspension of Wale Ajetunmobi, Senior Special Assistant on Print Media, to Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu.

Ajetunmobi had claimed in a now-deleted post on Sunday that some arsonists who burnt down Television Continental (TVC) during the #EndSARS protests in the state had been hunted and executed.

The statement stirred controversy, with many Nigerians calling for a thorough probe.

In a post via his X handle, Mr Macaroni stated that there was no investigation over the threat to kill him while in police custody and no action was taken when some people were openly threatening and intimidating voters before the 2023 election.

He also cited another media aide to Sanwo-Olu, who took bigotry to the streets and was never condemned, adding that the call for Ajetunmobi’s probe will not yield results.

He wrote, “Media aide to Governor Babajide SanwoOlu has stated according to Facts available to him that some Nigerians were hunted down and executed October 2020. Wein ll, Story Time; February 2021 when some of us, were arrested and dehumanized by Criminals disguised as Police Officers, one said to me : “Olorun yo iya e pe o Loruko. A ba ti fi Emi yin sofo danu… E fe ma da Ijoba lamu abi.. o je fun ara e ni brain”
Translation: “God save your mama say you get name. We for don waste all of una for here.. na una wan dey worry govt ba? You better give yourself brain”

“This was never investigated. But why would it be? Why investigate the dehumanization or supposed intimidation that is supposed to work in your favor? Before and after Elections, we had people come out with their full chest, with weapons.. threatening and intimidating voters. No action was taken!!! But why? Why take action against an oppression tactics that works for you?

“There was another media aide of the Governor that left the media and proudly took bigotry to the streets. That act and many more of such was never condemned and discouraged!!! Of course, anything to Win!!!

“We have allowed politicians who do not give a damn about us use their sycophants to sow seeds of hate amongst us . We can no longer engage ourselves without diatribe. Bigotry has become the order of the day. Shame to everyone involved! It doesn’t matter where you are from!! Wether North, South, East or West… Shame!!!

“I would say that I hope this statement by the media aide to the Governor is investigated but I laugh at the thought of it. I laugh in the last investigation panel set up by the Lagos State Government itself. We all know how that ended.. don’t we? LOL”

No Tinubu Spokesman Has Right To Criticize Past Government – Mr Macaroni

Nigerian content creator and activist, Debo Adedayo, popularly known as Mr Macaroni, has stated that no spokesperson of the Tinubu-led administration has the right to criticize past administrations.

Mr. Macaroni condemned the insensitivity of President Tinubu’s administration. He accused the government of living large at the expense of the citizens who continue to face hardship occasioned by the government’s policies.

Macaroni stated this on his X handle, on Tuesday, while reacting to an attack on former President Olusegun Obasanjo by Tinubu’s aides.

Debo emphasized that only Nigerians who have been victims of past governments’ bad governance have the right to criticize former leaders.

“I no send any Nigerian politician but only the people have the right to call out or criticize any politician or government past or present! Not Spokespersons of the current Government who continue to use billions to buy cars and jets while Nigerians are languishing in poverty.

“I personally believe all Nigerian politicians past or present have contributed largely to the rot in our country today and as such Nigerians must continue to hold past and present leaders accountable.

But members of this current administration have no such right!!! As a matter of fact, they are even more insensitive and tone deaf to the hardship in the country.

“The current government is flogging the people mercilessly but they still want to dictate when and how the people should cry. They hold the whip, but want to divert the attention of the people to those that have held the whip before them.

“Again, only the people have such rights to blame all those that have once held the whip.

Those that hold the whip now cannot criticize others that once held the whip because the crime of flogging Nigerians is one and the same,” Macaroni wrote on his X handle.

The human rights activist also condemned citizens who defend the bad policies of politicians for selfish interests.

“The sad reality in all this is that some Nigerians continue to defend their oppressors. How can you continue to defend those that make decisions that favor them but put you in unbearable hardship?

No matter the pain and suffering the people go through, these so-called leaders are immune to them!

“They drive the best cars, so they are immune to potholes on the roads. They fly the best private jets so who cares about increase in flight prices? They are heavily protected with the DSS, military and Police so why should they care about you whose phone was just stolen last night on the street because there was no officer on patrol, no street light or security camera?

“The people pay for their feeding and transport allowance so why should they care about the hike in food or fuel prices? They even have perfume allowance,” Macaroni added.

He called on Nigerians to unite against politicians who are responsible for the hardship and poor governance affecting the country.

Mr Marcaroni Slams FG Over Response To Hunger Protests

Nigerian skitmaker, Debo Adedayo, popularly known as Mr Macaroni has taken a swipe at the Federal government over how they have been handling the ongoing nationwide protest.

He accused authorities of disrupting peaceful demonstrations and teargassing the protesters.

On August 1, 2024, he took to the X platform to respond to a post by SP Benjamin Hundeyin, who claimed that protesters in Lagos were peaceful.

Mr Macaroni wrote, “This is proof that the protests are always peaceful and with good intentions until state-sponsored thugs are sent to disrupt the protests. The police, in their complicity, will ignore the infiltrators and start to attack peaceful protesters. This is how it happens not only in Lagos but in other states in the country.”

He drew parallels to the 2020 ENDSARS protests, criticizing the government for trying to rewrite the history of these events. “At the end of the day, the government will then attempt to rewrite history as if it didn’t happen before our very eyes. This is exactly how it happened with EndSars and the records will forever be there to point at the real enemies of Nigeria who unleashed terror and mayhem in our society,” he added.

Mr Macaroni also criticized the presence of anti-protesters who confronted peaceful demonstrators. He questioned, “Isn’t it crazy that the same people who protested peacefully are now trying to stop others from doing the same thing?”

He stressed, “If people want to protest and cry out to the government, let them. How can the government keep punishing people and then tell them they can’t complain? The government should protect peaceful protesters, but instead, it’s the same government that’s causing the problems.”

Nigerians Suffering But Leaders Sending Money To Themselves For Holidays – Mr Macaroni

Debo Adebayo, the famous Nigerian social activist and skit maker, who is better known as Mr Macaroni, has slammed the leadership of the National Assembly.

He slammed them over their luxurious lifestyles amid unbearable hardship by Nigerians.

Macaroni lamented that while Nigerians are going through unbearable hardship, their leaders were sending money to themselves to enjoy holidays.

His reaction followed a video circulating online in which the President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio, during a plenary session announced to his colleagues that “a token has been sent to their various accounts to enable them enjoy their holiday”.

The development has attracted many negative comments from Nigerians.

In a post on his social media platform on Wednesday, the social activist questioned why poor Nigerians have to pay for the luxurious lifestyle of their leaders.

“The Senate President has sent very expensive prayers out of the insufficient blessings of over 200 million people to himself and his already blessed colleagues at the National Assembly.

“These are the leaders that have asked struggling Nigerians to make sacrifices if they want things to work in the country. So while Nigerians are going through unbearable hardship, our leaders are sending money to themselves to enjoy holidays.

“Who are those that should be making sacrifices if not for our leaders?

“Do our leaders understand that leadership is about service, selfishness and sacrifice??

“Why do the poor people of Nigeria have to pay for the luxurious lifestyle of the leaders?? Why??? This isn’t leadership!!!”
