The development was shared on X (formerly Twitter), shortly after Hilda announced on Instagram and TikTok her plan to begin the record attempt on September 12 in Lagos.

In her post, the celebrity chef explained that she aspires to achieve her dream of cooking the largest pot of Nigerian jollof rice.

Just hours later, Hilda carried out a trial run, cooking a jollof rice dish inside the massive pot to test the tools and logistics ahead of the kickoff date.

A video showed her with her team and other individuals actively observing the process.

Hilda Baci eyes Guinness World Record with ‘largest pot of Nigerian jollof rice’

Nigerian chef and restaurateur Hilda Baci is aiming for another Guinness World Record as she prepares to cook the largest pot of Nigerian jollof rice.

The announcement was made through a series of posts on her Instagram and TikTok pages.

In her recent TikTok post, Hilda Baci shared her ambition to create a record-breaking pot of jollof rice, showcasing Nigerian cuisine to the world.

This comes just two years after she set the Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon, a record later surpassed by another chef.

Undeterred, she revealed her plans to embark on a new challenge, this time focusing on jollof rice.

Speaking about her quest while standing beside the 6 by 6 meter pot, she said: “Some dreams keep us awake until we make them reality. In 2023, it was the Hilda Baci cook-a-thon that took the world by storm.”

“This year, it’s jollof, the heartbeat of West Africa. A taste that tells our story. It’s more than cooking; it’s a celebration of our food, our culture, music, and us. We’re making history again, and I want you to be there when it happens.”

She added: “Two years ago, I imagined the largest pot of Nigerian jollof rice the world has ever seen. Today, with Gino, a brand we all grew up with, my dream is becoming a reality. On 12th September 2025, I will be making the largest pot of Nigerian jollof rice in this 6-meter pot, with Gino and with you, because what is my jollof rice without you to enjoy it?”

The event is scheduled to kick off on September 12 at Okunola Park in Victoria Island, Lagos.

Hilda Baci Moves To Set Another Record, Aims To Cook The Largest Pot Of Jollof Rice Ever

Nigerian culinary superstar, Hilda Baci is gearing up for another ambitious feat—an attempt to cook the largest pot of Nigerian jollof rice.

In an Instagram post on Friday, the chef revealed that the endeavour will utilise a colossal pot measuring six meters in width and six meters in height.

The chef said the feat has been a dream two years in the making. She expressed profound joy that the vision is finally coming to fruition.

Baci emphasised that the event is designed to be more than just a culinary challenge; it is a vibrant festival celebrating Nigerian culture, music, and community spirit.

The cook-off is scheduled to take place on September 12, 2025, at Muri Okunola Park in Victoria Island, Lagos.

“In 2023, the Hilda Baci cookathon took the world by storm. This year, it is Jollof, the heartbeat of West Africa,”
she wrote.

“A taste that tells our story. It is more than cooking, it is a celebration of our food, our culture, our music, and us. We are making history again, and I want you to be there when it happens.

“Two years ago, I imagined the largest pot of Nigerian Jollof rice the world had ever seen. Today, with Gino, a brand we all grew up with, my dream is becoming a reality.

Baci first gained fame in May 2023. She set a new Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon by an individual.

However, Irish chef Alan Fisher later surpassed her record in November of the same year.

She shared this during an intimate conversation with influencer and former Big Brother Naija housemate, Tacha on Cool FM’s Big Friday show.

During the interview, Tacha questioned Hilda about her personal experiences with stereotypes, particularly given her status as a successful and diverse woman.

Tacha asked: “Like girls like us, we look very cute, and we’re putting in the work or making money, but most people decide to be blind towards that. Like, do you get stereotyped?”

Hilda replied by disclosing her own personal experiences with stereotypes.

She said: “Oh yes. All my life. I have been stereotyped all my life. More now. More now than before. I remember a particular award where I was like…they didn’t think that I had, you know, much to offer. I don’t know if that makes any sense.”

I Plan To Turn My Cook-A-Thon Into A Festival – Chef Hilda Reveals

Hilda Baci, the Nigerian Guinness World Record holder, has revealed her plans of organizing a Cookathon festival internationally.

Hilda was questioned about the prospect of another Guinness World Record attempt in a recent interview with TheCable Lifestyle.

The chef was verified by Guinness World Records (GWR) as the record holder for the longest individual cooking marathon with a milestone of 93 hours and 11 minutes.

Baci said she has no plans breaking another world record at the moment.

“To the best of my knowledge right now, I do not intend to attempt another record. At least, it is not something I am thinking about.

“It took a lot of thought and planning. It was a huge investment”.

Baci also elaborated on her vision of converting her cook-a-thon into a festival.

According to her, she wants the festival to be “something that happens in different countries”.

“So, in terms of now making it into something, I want to make the ‘cook-a-thon’ turn into more like a festival that happens in probably in different countries,” she said.

“That is something I am open to. I am now reaching out to these brands, and saying, ‘Oh, we have worked on this before’. Now, this is something that I am trying to do.”

The chef also revealed that a documentary is in the works so people can see her “beautiful story”.

“We are working on a documentary as well. Because I feel like it was important that people must see all this.

“I feel like it is important that people actually see the process because it is honestly a very beautiful story. I think more people deserve to see it holistically, not just little clips on social media,” she said.

Ondo lady, Chef Deo crosses 14-hour mark, aims to break Hilda Baci’s record

Nigerian chef, Adeyeye Adeola, also known as Chef Deo is engaged in an outstanding culinary endeavor in an effort to break Hilda Baci’s previous record for the longest cooking marathon.

The Ile-Oluji Local Government Area of Ondo State hosted Adeola’s cook-a-thon, which started on June 30 and is scheduled to end on July 6, 2023.

In order to test the boundaries of culinary endurance, another Nigerian chef, Adeparusi Damilola, commonly known as Chef Dammy, recently completed a 120-hour cook-a-thon in the Oye Local Government Area of Ekiti State.

Hilda Effiong Bassey, also known as Hilda Baci, now holds the Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon (person), completing it in a stunning 93 hours and 11 minutes.

She attempted to break the record from May 11 to May 15, preparing more than 100 pots of meals in only four days.

The Guinness World Records has officially recognized Hilda Baci’s accomplishment after carefully examining the available data.

Chef Deo who plans to break Hilda Baci’s record has now cooked for 14 hours non stop.

Chef Dammy Congratulates Guinness World Record Holder, Hilda Baci

Nigerian Chef, Damilola Adeparusi has congratulated Hilda Baci, the Guinness World Record holder for the longest cooking hours by a single individual.
Adeparusi sent her congratulatory message after Guinness confirmed the record.
Recall that Guinness had on Tuesday adjusted the record from 100 hours to 93 hours 11 minutes.
The post reads, “Following a thorough review of all the evidence, Guinness World Records can now confirm that Hilda Effiong Bassey, better known as Hilda Baci, has officially broken the record for the longest cooking marathon (individual), with a time of 93 hours 11 minutes.
 
“The 26-year-old Nigerian chef began on Thursday 11 May and continued through to Monday 15 May, cooking over 100 pots of food during her four-day kitchen stint.
 
“Hilda attempted to set a record of 100 hours, however, almost seven hours were deducted from her final total because she mistakenly took extra minutes for one of her rest breaks early on in the attempt.”
 
Reacting to this, Chef Dammy, in a post via her Twitter page, expressed appreciation to Hilda for being a huge motivation.
She wrote: “Congratulations to the best and biggest chef in Nigeria. This is surely the beginning of greater things to come. More wins are surely coming your way ma’am. Thank you for being a huge motivation.”
