How I Got Asake To Feature On ‘Timeless’ Album – Davido Reveals (Video)

David Adeleke, the world-famous Nigerian music superstar, who is popularly known as Davido, has opened up on how he got his colleague, Asake to feature in his new album, ‘Timeless’.

Davido made this known in a viral interview video shared on Friday.

He stated that he has always been a fan of Asake because of his storylines and style, and that he spoke with YBNL boss, Olamide, prior to meeting Asake, who is signed to YBNL Nation.

Davido said, “Shoutout to Asake, I am a very very big fan of him and his story and just the way he just came out and just scattered everywhere and I was just like omo I had to get him on my album because of his style and everything, I just wanted to work with him

“I dm the bossman, Baddo, I didn’t write Asake first o, I went to my brother first, so I cornered him, I wrote ola like Baddo I am doing my album and need Asake on a verse and he said send it nau, I can’t tell you no nau. Who has Asake verse? I am not sure Asake would even give anybody Asake verse

“So I sent the song to Baddo’s WhatsApp I think then Baddo was on tour, Funny enough Asake loves recording when Baddo is there, like presently there, so Asake said he wants Baddo to be there with him when he is Voicing. Baddo is also one of the writers of the song as well.

“Asake sent the verse and it was fire, I said Baddo nice one, so we signed, cleared and delivered”

We Used To Be Close But Don’t Talk Often Now – Davido On Relationship With Burna Boy

David Adeleke, the famous Nigerian Afrobeat superstar, also known as Davido, has opened up about his relationship with his colleague, Burna Boy.

He explained that their relationship is fragile and not as strong as it used to be

He said they were on good terms but they “don’t really talk much” to each other.

Davido recently featured on Ebro in the Morning Show on Hot 97FM, New York, USA.

Speaking on unity among Afrobeats artists, the Omo Baba Olowo crooner said, “Afrobeats [artists] we are in unity. I spoke to Burna [Boy]. He called me. He calls me as well but we’ve not really spoken like that.

Asked whether he plans to resolve his issues with Burna Boy, Davido said, “I think I definitely would. He [Burna Boy] called me. Wiz [Kid] called me. And funny enough, me and Burna used to be mad close. Very very close.”

Recall that the relationship between Davido and Burna Boy went sour in 2020, which resulted in a series of disagreements between the two.

The duo reportedly clashed and exchanged blows in a Ghanaian club.

Speaking of the incident, Davido said, “Funny enough, it wasn’t even us. It was our people [team]. It was crazy because it didn’t even involve us.”

Davido officially unveils PUMA fashion line

David “Davido” Adeleke, a Nigerian singer and music executive, has debuted his clothing line in collaboration with the renowned sportswear company Puma.

The award-winning musician announced the sportstyle line on Friday, April 7, 2023, via his Twitter account.

Davido published a video ad featuring the styles that he had chosen with care.

The collection includes a tracksuit, t-shirts, shorts, and hats that vividly mix patterns and colors to represent Nigerian culture.

He wrote; “It’s with a huge sigh of relief that I can finally say the words “MY NEW LINE WITH @PUMA IS OFFICIALLY OUT NOW”!

“Puma To Launch 30BG Fashion Line Soon” – Davido Reveals

Davido earlier announced a collaboration with Puma to develop a 30BG-inspired clothing range.

On Thursday, January 27, 2022, Davido revealed this in a Twitter post in response to a fan’s comment.

Puma should establish a fashion line for Davido, according to a fan named @SameOldRexx.

The fan wrote: ”I was hoping they would create a limited edition 30BG line for him.

Would’ve been crazy.”

Davido responded by revealing that it is already in the works.

”It’s coming @puma,” he tweeted.

In a recent interview with Afrobeats Podcast, Davido stated that he wakes up everyday with a smile unlike months back before his return to the music space.

He added that a lot of people would have given up if they had to go through what he went through.

Davido said that he has come to realize that God is real, even though he had his doubts in the past.

Asa Asika eulogizes Peruzzi for great writing skills on Davido’s hit track ‘Unavailable’

The manager of Nigerian artist, Davido, Asa Asika has eulogized Peruzzi for writing one of Davido’s track from his album “Timeless”.

Recall that Davido dropped his much-anticipated ‘Timeless’, album on March 31, a few months after the death of his son, Ifeanyi Adeleke jnr.

The 17-track album features guest appearances from Grammy award-winning Beninese singer, Angelique Kidjo, British rapper, Skepta, Asake, Fave, Cavemen, and DMW’s latest signees; Morravey and Logos Olori.

Davido’s manager, Asa Asika has hailed Peruzzi over his excellent writing skill and the amount of work he put in the track ‘Unavailable’ to become a success.

This praises from Asa Asika comes after Peruzzi took to his Twitter page to show appreciation to Davido and his manager Asika for trusting him enough and giving him such a significant task.

Asa Asika wrote while hailing Peruzzi; “My favourite writer to work with anytime, any day. @peruzzi_vibes”

Davido’s Songs Most Streamed In UK, Canada, France – Spotify

Spotify, popular online streaming platform has revealed that singer, Davido’s songs are most streamed in United Kingdom, Nigeria, Canada and France.
This was made public by Spotify’s Artiste and Label Partnerships Manager for West Africa, Victor Okpala, in a statement on Tuesday.
He said songs by Davido featured on over 10 million user-generated playlists on Spotify.
According to him, Davido’s fans appeal is hardly in doubt as the afrobeat star makes music that captures an elusive, exhilarating energy, and fans across the world have connected since his earliest releases.
 
“Data from Spotify shows that Davido is one of afrobeats’ biggest exports.
 
“While undoubtedly adored at home, the United States is the single largest market for Omo Baba Olowo’s (OBO) music, with the vast majority of his plays coming from outside Africa.
 
“The United Kingdom, Nigeria, Canada and France round out the top four countries where his music is streamed.
 
“Davido is one of afrobeats’ truly global stars, and we are honoured to play our role in sharing his art and ethos with his dedicated fans in Nigeria and around the world,” he said.
Okpala said that Spotify also promoted Davido’s ‘Timeless’ album on a billboard in New York’s Times Square, announcing the album to international audiences in one of the world’s most iconic public spaces.
He said the new release had been celebrated by fans and artistes alike, with many appreciating Davido’s ability to find cohesion within a body of work that plays host to diverse collaborators.
