INEC declares Bola Tinubu winner of 2023 presidential election

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared Bola Tinubu as the winner of the 2023 presidential election.

INEC chairman Yakubu Mahmood declared Tinubu the winner of the election and president-elect Wednesday morning at the International Conference Centre, Abuja.

A total of 18 presidential candidates contested the election held across the 36 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja, on Saturday.

The election was postponed till Sunday in some polling units in different states due to violence, logistical problems, theft of BVAS and other issues.

After collation at state INEC collation centres, the election results were presented by state collation officers for the presidential election (SCOPs) before the INEC chairman at the National Collation Centre.

Mahmood announced that Tinubu, a former Lagos State governor and the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) won the election with the majority of votes cast in 36 states of Nigeria and the FCT.

The APC candidate polled 8,794,726 votes to defeat fellow contenders – Atiku Abubakar of the opposition People’s Democratic Party (PDP) who polled 6,984,520 votes, Labour Party’s Peter Obi had 6,101,533 votes to come third and candidate of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) Rabiu Kwankwaso with 1,496,687 votes.

Of the 36 states and FCT, Tinubu, Obi, and Atiku won 12 states each while Kwankwaso won only Kano State.

The 12 states won by Tinubu are Ogun, Oyo, Osun, Kwara, Benue, Rivers, Borno, Zamfara, Jigawa, Ondo, Kogi and Niger State.

Atiku of the PDP won Taraba, Osun, Akwa Ibom, Adamawa, Kaduna, Sokoto, Yobe, Bayelsa, Kebbi, Bauchi, Gombe and Katsina.

Obi won the following states; Ebonyi, Enugu, Imo, Anambra, Abia, Delta, Edo, FCT, Plateau, Nasarawa, Lagos and Cross River.

#NigeriaElections2023: Tinubu Triumphs In Benue With 310,468 Votes

Bola Tinubu, the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, has been declared the winner of Saturday’s presidential election in Benue State.

Tinubu polled 310,468 to outpace Peter Obi of the Labour Party who scored 308,372 votes.

Also, Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party polled 130,081 votes to come a distant third, while Rabiu Kwankwaso of the New Nigeria Peoples Party scored 4,740.

The total number of registered voters was 2,772,977 and the accredited voters were put at 840,189.

The number of valid votes reached 770,075, while the rejected votes amounted to 27,687, with a total of 797,762 votes cast.

#NigeriaElections2023: Tinubu Defeats Atiku, Obi In Zamfara

Bola Tinubu, the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, has emerged winner of the presidential election in Zamfara State.

Tinubu polled 298,396 votes to win the state.

The collation officer for the Zamfara State presidential election, Prof. Kashim Shehu, announced the results in Gusau, the state capital, in the early hours of Tuesday.

According to him, Tinubu won 12 out of 14 local government areas in the state, while the Peoples Democratic Party candidate, Atiku Abubakar, won two.

Atiku polled 193,978 votes while Rabiu Kwankwaso of the New Nigeria Peoples Party scored 4,044 votes with Peter Obi of the Labour Party polling 1,660 votes.

Shehu said votes in 167 polling units were cancelled due to over-voting, insecurity and disruptions by thugs.

The total number of registered voters in the state was 1,879,308, while 527,137 of them were accredited for the poll.

A total of 502,923 valid votes were recorded and 16,508 votes, bringing the total votes cast to 519,431.

Tinubu Leads Obi, Atiku in Rivers

Bola Tinubu, the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress is currently leading in Rivers State.
He has won 10 of the 13 local government areas in Rivers State so far collated in by the Independent National Electoral Commission for last Saturday’s presidential election.
Among the 13 won by the APC is Ikwerre, the LGA of the former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi.
The Collation Officer for Ikwerre LGA, Prof. James Kpolovie, disclosed this while presenting the result to the state collation officer, Prof Charles Adias at the INEC office in Port Harcourt on Monday.
Recall that Amaechi was absent during the presidential rally of the APC in Port Harcourt prior to the elections.
From the results, the APC polled a total of 9,609 to defeat the Labour Party and the Peoples Democratic Party which polled 8,752 and 4,869 to come second and third respectively.
The other LGA’s won by the APC so far are Opobo/Nkoro, Asari-Toru, Abua-Odual, Bonny, Omuma, Gokana, Emuoha, Eleme, Tai, Akuku-Toru.
Meanwhile the Labour Party had won in three LGA so far; Bonny, Ahoada West and Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni.
The PDP on its part has so far won three LGA’s namely; Andoni, Okrika and Ogu/Bolo
The state Collation Officer for INEC, Prof Dias has called for a break pending when the remaining LGA’s, including Governor Nyesom Wike’s Obio/Akpor will turn in their votes.

Mr. Macaroni reacts to Peter Obi defeating Bola Tinubu in Lagos state

Popular skit maker and actor, Mr. Macaroni has reacted to the report of Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, defeating All Progressives Congress presidential candidate and two-term Governor of Lagos, Bola Tinubu, in the state.

The former Governor of Anambra state polled a total of 582,354 votes to defeat his closest rival, Bola Tinubu who polled 572,606 votes.

Reacting to Obi’s victory, Mr. Macaroni stated that Labour Party triumphed in spite of the violence and intimidation unleashed in Lagos. He also said that people should know that power is in their hands.

He tweeted;

“Despite all the violence and intimidation unleashed in Lagos, Peter Obi has won Lagos State!!! The margin should be way more!!! I just want the people to know that the power is in our hands!!! They said no structure!! They said it is internet noise!!! LESSONS!!!!!”

In another tweet, Mr. Macaroni noted that the margin would have been wider if some people were allowed to vote. He further revealed that in his polling unit, 300 people were unable to vote.

He added;

INEC, in my polling unit alone over 300 people did not vote!! And there are reports of same in many PU’s!! Violence and intimidation!!! If this election was conducted better, the margin of victory for the LP will be way more!!! DO BETTER @inecnigeria.

“They underestimated the power of the people!!! They said that we are only online that we are not grassroots!! They didn’t realize that the suffering touch everybody! Na all of us be grassroots now!! Nigerians, the power will always be yours anytime you are ready to take it!!!”

2023 Elections: Peter Obi wins Tinubu in Lagos State

Mr Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, emerged victorious in Lagos State, defeating the APC presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

It was earlier reported that Obi garnered 449,088 votes, while Tinubu received 416,431. However, Tinubu won in 10 local governments, while LP won in 7 of the 17 LGAs declared.

Despite Tinubu winning a greater number of local government areas, Obi garnered more votes overall after the remaining three Local Government Areas were collated.

The results of all 20 local government areas have been announced, with Tinubu winning in 11 and Obi winning in nine. Ultimately, Obi’s total votes amounted to 582,664, while Tinubu received 541,850.

APC’s Tinubu Wins Ondo State (Details)

The presidential election held in Ondo State on Saturday has been won by the All Progressives Congress, APC.

 

The result of the election was announced on Monday morning by the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, at its state headquarters in Alagbaka, Akure, the state capital.

The announcement was done after the arrival of Collation Officers at the INEC office where presentation of results was done.

While announcing the result, the Returning Officer in the state for the Presidential Election, Prof. Abayomi Fashina, who is also the Vice Chancellor, Federal University, Oye-Ekiti, Ekiti State, disclosed that APC polled the most votes with 369,924.

According to the result, the ruling APC cleared all the 18 local government areas.

Meanwhile, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, came second with 115,463 votes, and the Labour Party, LP, in the third position with 47,350 votes. Also, the African Democratic Party, ADP, got 5,612 votes.

Prof. Fashina disclosed that 571,402 were accredited, 570,017 votes were cast, while 19,009 votes were rejected.

Tinubu Defeats Atiku, Obi At Fayose’s Polling Unit

Bola Tinubu, the presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, defeated PDP’s Atiku Abubakar and Labour Party’s Peter Obi at ex-gov Ayo Fayose’s polling unit in Afao-Ekiti, Irepodun/Ifelodun local government area of Ekiti State held on Saturday, February 25.

According to the results collated, APC polled 154 while PDP gathered 59 and Labour party gathered 14 votes.

EFCC Operatives Arrive Tinubu’s Polling Unit (Video)

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Saturday arrived at the polling unit of Bola Tinubu, the presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.

Tinubu’s polling unit is Ward C PU 085 Alausa, Ikeja, Alausa, Ikeja, Lagos State.

In a video shared online, the officials were seen in their uniform arriving at the centre.

They were seen parading the polling centre although they never disclosed what prompted the visit to reporters.
