Nigerian singer, Wizkid’s Kese (Dance) which debuted in the top 5 on the Apple Music charts within 24 hours of its release, has experienced an unexpected drop in the rankings.
The song’s initial success highlighted Wizkid’s strong fan base and influence, but its quick decline has raised questions about its staying power and overall reception.
In contrast, Davido’s AWUKE continues to thrive, holding firm within the top 5.
Wizkid’s Piece of My Heart also maintains a strong presence on the charts, showing that while Kese has stumbled, Wizkid’s impact remains undeniable through his other releases.
The Nigerian superstar debuted songs from his forthcoming album at a private listening in London.
Ayodeji Balogun, better known as Wizkid, is a top-tier singer, composer, and performer from Nigeria. A private listening session for his new album was held, and it was attended by a large number of celebrities.
The Afrobeats icon recently gave his London fans a preview of his upcoming fifth studio album, “More Love, Less Ego,” which is slated for release on October 29.
On Tuesday, September 27, 2022, the Grammy-nominated singer hosted a private listening event at London’s well-known Roundhouse theater in association with the world’s leading streaming service, Apple Music. Winnie Harlow, Daniel Kaluuya, NSG, Julz, Skepta, Naomi Campbell, Fireboy, Ayra Starr (who also performed), and a host of other celebrities attended.
Wizkid, a multi-platinum selling and Grammy Award-winning sensation, would do a live performance unlike any other at The Roundhouse in London and would be streamable on Apple Music in over 165 countries.
On September 27, 2022, a live recording of this historic concert would be made. Big Wiz is rumored to sing brand-new songs from his upcoming album, “More Love, Less Ego.”
The latest performer on Apple Music Live, the live concert series that gives the biggest names in music a platform to engage with audiences around the world, will be Wizkid. Apple Music Live, which was introduced this spring, has previously included only live streams of concerts by international superstars Harry Styles, Lil Durk, Mary J. Blige, and Luke Combs.
Wizkid disclosed: “Apple Music has always been a supporter of my career and a major tool in connecting me with my fans.
Collaborating with them on something like this is special. I’m excited to debut new music from my forthcoming album ‘More Love, Less Ego’ and share my Apple Music Live show with fans across the world.”
Wizkid’s much-anticipated new single, “Bad To Me,” was released earlier this month via Starboy/Sony Music International/RCA Records.
The song, which was created by Wizkid’s longtime producer P2J (also known for his work with Beyoncé, Doja Cat, and Burna Boy), is a statement of lust in its purest form, with sensual sounds over a pounding beat that only heightens the tension.
Wizkid spoke about the success of his album, Made in Lagos when he was giving his speech after he received the award for Apple music African artiste of the year.
Big Wiz revealed he has been working on it for years and the album is not a different sound abut its more matured than what he used to make.
He said, “I felt it coming. I would say I’m lying if I didn’t feel it coming because it took me three years to work on that album. So I felt like there was going to be a shift, but I didn’t know how it would come. Because I knew that it was kind of like a different… it wasn’t a different sound, but it was a more matured sound from what I used to make. From when I was way young, man. I called my first album ‘Superstar.’ How confident can you be? So yeah. I was born to do this sh**, man.”
