Spanish football powerhouse, Barcelona have sacked their manager Xavi.
Xavi was sacked with former Bayern Munich boss Hansi Flick set to replace him.
Xavi will take charge of Barcelona for the final time on Sunday, when they host Sevilla in their last La Liga match of the season.
The 44-year-old, who had been contracted until 2025, was informed of the club’s decision during a meeting with club president Joan Laporta and sporting director Deco on Friday.
Former Spain midfielder Xavi announced in January that he would leave the Camp Nou, but he was persuaded to stay by Laporta in April.
But recent comments from Xavi, in which he opened up about the club’s financial struggles, are said to have angered Laporta.
Barcelona said they would like to “thank Xavi for his work as a coach” since taking charge in 2021.
The Catalans added confirmation about a “new structure” will be confirmed in the coming days, with Flick set to take charge.
Flick, 59, has been out of work since being sacked by Germany in September 2023.
English football powerhouse, Manchester City have emerged the winners of the 2023/2024 EPL title, becoming the first team in history to win it for a consecutive fourth time.
The Pep Guardiola-coached side scored the first goal within minute against West Ham through Foden who bagged a brace in the 18th minute.
West Ham’s Kudus gave a glimmer of hope in the second half with a well-taken goal before Rodri scored the third for Manchester City.
Mikel Arteta, the Arsenal manager, has affirmed that the Premier League trophy will be at the Emirates on Sunday, when they host Everton in their final fixture.
The Gunners have a slim chance of winning the title on the day if Manchester City drop points at home against West Ham.
Despite the disappointment of seeing City beat Tottenham to go top, Arteta still believes his side can come out on top on the final day of the season
Speaking to the Spanish media, Arteta said: “This is the nice part, fighting for the title until the last day.
“It will be the first time that the Premier League trophy will be there waiting at the Emirates since it was built, with red ribbons on it, because if we win and they don’t, it’s ours.”
Son Heung-min, the world-famous Tottenham Hotspur striker, has hailed Manchester City goalkeeper, Stefano Ortega.
He credited Ortega for making a good save to deny him in a midweek Premier League clash.
Son had the chance to make it 1-1 late in the game but hit the ball straight at Ortega.
The striker has now apologized for the miss, which could yet prove to be the defining moment in the title race.
It was just as damaging for Spurs, who saw their hopes of Champions League qualification end, following a fifth defeat in six games.
“I’m also human. The keeper made a really good decision and made himself really big.
“But I take the responsibility not to score that big chance for the team, because the team was working really hard and trying to get a good result,” Son told the Evening Standard.

Xavi announced in January that he will be quitting as head coach in the summer.
The 44-year-old said he would be walking away despite having a contract until 2025 at the Nou Camp.
However, in a dramatic u-turn on Wednesday, Xavi has decided to continue with Barca, after meeting with the club’s president, Joan Laporta and other senior officials.
The former Spain midfielder has now given reasons for his decision to remain at the club.
“I changed my mind because I really felt total confidence from the president, from the board and the players too. This project isn’t finished yet.
“Me, my staff, all together feel that we have strength to make important things together and continue this project,” Xavi said.
