Chef Dammy Reaches 120 Hours Of Marathon Cooking

Damilola Adeparusi, the Ekiti State chef, who is famously called Chef Dammy has finally reached the 120-hour landmark in the ongoing cook-a-thon.

This is coming barely a few hours after record holder for the longest hours in cooking (individual category), Chef Hilda Baci, who cooked on a stretch for 100 hours, was certified by the Guinness World Records.

The PUNCH had earlier reported that 26-year-old Dammy, who is passionate about her ambition had cooked up to 111 hours on Tuesday, in Oye Local Government Area in Ekiti.

Meanwhile, she had been visited by the Vice Chancellor and management of the Federal University Oye-Ekiti.

As it stands, if confirmed by the GWR, Chef Dammy will become the new world record holder.

What I Observed About Hilda Baci – Mr Macaroni

Popular Nigerian skit maker, Mr. Macaroni, has disclosed what he learnt from record-breakiing chef, Hilda Baci.

Recall that Hilda Baci was yesterday confirmed by Guinness World Records as the new holder of the award for longest cooking hours by an individual.

While congratulating Hilda Baci on her record-breaking cook-a-thon in an Instagram post, Mr Macaroni noted that the chef is a determined go-getter.

He praised her for not giving up even after surpassing the previous record of 87 hours set by Lata Tondon and pushing herself to reach 100 hours.

Mr. Macaroni further expressed his gratitude to Hilda for inspiring him to do more and shared the greatest lesson he learned from her achievement.

In his signature comedic style, he announced his upcoming record attempt called “Freak-A-Thon,” where he plans to spend the longest time chasing “freakies.”

“Congratulations Hilda Baci. The greatest lesson here is that Hilda did not stop even after surpassing the 87 hours set by Lata Tondon.

“She went all the way to 100 hours and the decision to do so helped her set a new world record despite GWR taking away 7 hours. I’m inspired to do more. Thank you, Hilda. Daddy Wa is ready to shake the world,” he said.

Ifeanyi Has A Little Brother In London

Superstar Nigerian singer, Davido Adeleke has disclosed that his deceased son, Ifeanyi, has a younger brother.

Davido revealed this during an interview with YouTuber, Anas Bukhash.

While the interviewer was talking about his daughters, Davido interrupted and said, “I’ve a son too. Like, Ifeanyi has a little brother.”

He further revealed that his name is Dawson and he stays in London with his mother.

However social media users have dragged the artist for taking him long to acknowledge his son, Dawson.

Grammy Adds New Categories For Africans

Grammy Award organisers have added new categories.

The Recording Academy added a new music category for African music; Best African Music Performance for the 66th Annual Grammy Awards.

 

Not only that, it also announced two other additional categories—Best Alternative Jazz Album and Best Pop Dance Recording.

 

Additionally, the existing categories of producer of the year, non-classical and songwriter of the year, non-classical will be moved to the general field.

 

The category additions and amendments were voted on and passed at the Recording Academy’s most recent semiannual Board of Trustees meeting, held last month.

 

Harvey Mason Jr., the Chief Executive Officer of the Recording Academy, said in a statement on Tuesday that the news categories represent the diverse range of relevant musical genres.

 

“The Recording Academy is proud to announce these latest category changes to our award process. These changes reflect our commitment to actively listen and respond to the feedback from our music community, accurately represent a diverse range of relevant musical genres, and stay aligned with the ever-evolving musical landscape,” Mason said

 

The addition of an award category for Africa is a recognition of recordings that utilise unique local expressions from across the African continent

 

The category includes but is not limited to the Afrobeat, Afro-fusion, Afro Pop, Afrobeats, Alte, Amapiano, Bongo Flava, Genge, Kizomba, Chimurenga, High Life, Fuji, Kwassa, Ndombolo, Mapouka, Ghanaian Drill, Afro-House, South African Hip-Hop, and Ethio Jazz genres.

Sitting On Top Of The World – Burna Boy Celebrates His UEFA Champions League Performance

Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu, the famous Nigerian Afrobeat singer, who is popularly called Burna Boy is apparently having the time of his life.

The singer has taken to social media to brag about his performance at the 2023 UEFA Champions League final.

DAILY POST earlier reported that the singer had Saturday performed alongside Brazilian singer Anitta at the UEFA Champions League final football match between Manchester City and Inter Milan at the Ataturk Olympic Stadium in Istanbul, Turkey.

Burna Boy, who made headlines following his UEFA champions league performance, revealed his current state in a post on his official Instagram page on Tuesday.

Sharing pictures and video from his performance, the singer stated: “Sitting on top of the world.”

I Still Cry Every Morning Over My Son’s Death

Popular singer, Davido has said he still cries every morning for his late son, Ifeanyi.

He made the revelation in a podcast interview while discussing about his the release of his “Timeless” album.

 

He said many fans anticipated sorrowful songs on his album but he delivered “bangers” instead.

 

Davido noted that  even though he overcame the difficult time following his son’s passing, he still sheds tears over it every morning.

 

He said: “I miss him every day, there’s tears coming out of my eyes every morning, you don’t have to see it,

“I look at myself in the mirror and I said apart from it just being about me, I know how many people love me, I know how many people are depending on me.

“My son up there is looking down at me. Apart from me being strong for his mom, which is my primary responsibility, I have to be strong for the world.

“A lot of people thought the album was just going to be a lot of sad songs, we gave them bangers on bangers.

“My son is dancing and my mom is dancing in heaven. So for people to see that it’s possible to stand up again and be able to work, it’s only God.

“Those were one of the things that and my wife relied on, God is real. Then everything just aligned back, we performed better, business is better.”

Hilda Baci Reveals The Staggering Amount She Spent On Her Cook-a-Thon

Guinness World Record holder, Hilda Baci has revealed the amount she spent to organise her cook-a-thon.

Recall that she was today confirmed by Guinness World Record as the holder for longest cooking by an individual.

 

Accoridng to her, she spent over N80m for her cookathon.

 

She was reacting to the allegation by a brand that she breached a N3m deal for a meet-and-greet event in Abuja.

 

Baci denied she had such agreement in place, stating she spent over N80m for her cookathon event.

 

She said: “I spent over N80m of my hard earned money for my cookathon so people could eat and drink for free.”

Hilda’s Cook-a-Thon Crashed Our Website – Guinness World Records

Guinness World Record has stated the impact Nigerian chef, Hilda Effiong Bassey, aka Hilda Baci’s cook-a-thon had on their website.

According to GWR, the cook-a-thon by Hilda crashed their website for two days.

 

A representative of the record body disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday while officially certifying Hilda as the new record holder for the longest cooking marathon by an individual.

 

The representative said their website crashed because of the immense volume of traffic received from Hilda’s legion of loyal fans.

“Hilda’s cook-a-thon was in fact so popular that our website crashed for two days due to the immense volume of traffic we received from her legion of loyal fans,” the rep said.

 

Recall that Guinness World Record failed to certify Hilda’s 100-hour-kitchen stint, acknowledging just 93 hours 11 minutes.

 

The record body said it deducted seven hours from her record because “she mistakenly took extra minutes for one of her rest breaks early on in the attempt.”

Recall that Guinness World Records on Tuesday finally certified Hilda as the new record holder for the longest cooking marathon by an individual.

Retweeting the certification statement from GWR, Hilda wrote, “This is the best news ever omg omg omg thank you so much.”

Meanwhile, Guinness World Record said it deducted seven hours from Hilda Baci’s 100-hour longest cooking marathon by an individual record because “she mistakenly took extra minutes for one of her rest breaks early on in the attempt.”

The record body put her official record at 93 hours 11 minutes and not 100 hours.

Guinness World Records Names Hilda Baci New Record Holder For Longest Cooking Marathon

Guinness World Records has officially crowned Hilda Baci as the new record holder for the longest cooking by an individual.

The GWR made the announcement on Tuesday.

The GWR in a statement on its website, said, “Following a thorough review of all the evidence, Guinness World Records can now confirm that Hilda Effiong Bassey, better known as Hilda Baci, has officially broken the record for the longest cooking marathon (individual), with a time of 93 hours 11 minutes.”

The 26-year-old Nigerian chef began on Thursday 11 May and continued through to Monday 15 May, cooking over 100 pots of food during her four-day kitchen stint.

Hilda attempted to set a record of 100 hours, however, almost seven hours were deducted from her final total because she mistakenly took extra minutes for one of her rest breaks early on in the attempt.
