I’m Sure Mohbad Was Killed; He Had No Rest From Moment Naira Marley Came Into His Life – Late Singer’s Mother Laments

The mother of the late up-and-coming musician, Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, who was widely recognized as Mohbad, has broken her silence for the first time following the singer’s passing on Tuesday.

The bereaved mother who spoke in Yoruba language in a video making the rounds on the internet on Sunday, said she was sure that her son’s death did not come from God and that someone killed him.

She said Mohbad had no rest from the moment singer and rapper, Azeez Adeshina Fashola, popularly known as Naira Marley, came into his life.

Naira Marley is the owner of Marlian Music, the record label that formerly signed the late Mohbad.

She also dismissed claims that Mohbad was not mentally ill.

Also according to her, she never knew Naira Marley until Mohbad met him. She said the late Mohbad did not have a headache and liver problem before his death, stressing that nothing was wrong with him when he went for his last show in the Ikorodu area of Lagos State.

The bereaved mother who cried for justice for her son said, “I’m the mother of Mohbad, Promise Oladimeji Emmanuel Ayobami. I’m not dead, I am alive but who prayed to be hurt by the death of a child and be forced to speak out? All the things happening, I don’t know about them but I know that my son’s death did not come from God. Someone killed him.

“Whoever killed my child; their house will be hot; there will be war there; they will grieve. The glory of that family will drown. This is for whoever killed him and their children because they caused me pain.

“I’m alive but it is not ideal for me to be talking; what do I say about my child? But I know that from the time Naira (Marley) came into my son’s life, my son had no rest. His mind was not at rest.

“All the times they lied against him; I could not talk because I was not given permission to talk. I asked my son what happened. I still called that morning; he gave me money to go to the hospital. I called him from that hospital. He said Mummy, something is happening.

“When they came for him, he was not there. He was in the studio, singing. But when he knew something was happening, he came to me. I asked him: what is happening? I was his life and his heaven. He said he came because he heard something happened and that they took them.

“He said he was given water and didn’t know what happened afterwards. That was when the problem started. He is dead; he sees me but I can’t see him. We started going from place to place- my son and I. He could not sleep. Till Promise died, he was afraid. Sometimes, when he was supposed to attend shows, he would not go. They would say Naira and his crew were coming.

“They were beating him every day. People would call me, even people I didn’t know. Till he died, I also didn’t rest. I was afraid and frightened. Before he died, I spent 10 days in his house. I left on a Saturday and heard on Monday that he was dead. I still spoke to his wife that Monday; it was about one hour later that I received a call that he was dead.

“All the things they are saying are lies. They said he was mentally ill. Don’t you understand what they call mental illness? Promise was mad but he was married and had children. People are not afraid of God and the dead. My son was not mentally ill. Those who claim he was mentally ill, please ask them for the name of the hospital that confirmed it. Where is the result of the test?

“I’m not dead but I don’t know what to do. He left his wife and children behind. He is survived by others including his brother and me. From the time Naira Marley came into his life, I knew Promise was in trouble.

“He is dead but he didn’t enjoy his life. I won’t lie to you. Where Promise went to, I will also go there one day. All of us will still go there. Let us be careful. All those saying all kinds of things, fear God and fear the dead. If Promise could appear to us, he should do so, so that he would explain all that happened.

“My son was not mentally ill. I never knew Naira (Marley) until Promise met him. Please save me; they have hurt me through my son’s death. See what happened to my son who had so much glory. He didn’t have a headache and had no liver problem.

“There was nothing wrong with him when he went for his last show. He went to the show in Ikorodu. I don’t have any power; who will fight for me?”

14 People Killed As Plane Crashes In Brazilian Amazon

In what will come across as a really startling development, as many as fourteen people have been killed in a plane crash.

They were killed in the crash during bad weather in the Brazilian Amazon on Saturday.

The small propeller plane was nearing the end of its 400km (248 mile) trip between Manaus, the capital of Amazonas state, and the remote jungle town of Barcelos when it went down.

Officials said all those on board – 12 passengers and two crew – were killed in the crash.

An investigation has been launched into the cause of the incident.

Amazonas state security secretary Vinicius Almeida said initial information suggested the plane crashed after running out of runway when it descended into Barcelos during heavy rain and low visibility.

Brazilian news site G1 reported that the plane was an EMB-110, a twin-engine turboprop manufactured by Brazilian aircraft-maker Embraer.

According to G1, the plane’s owner, Manaus Aerotáxi, said the aircraft and its crew met all the necessary requirements to be flying.

“Our teams have been on the ground responding since the moment of the crash to provide the necessary support,” Amazonas Governor Wilson Lima wrote on X (formerly Twitter) following the crash.

“My solidarity and prayers to the victims’ family and friends.”

The mayor of Barcelos, Edson de Paula Rodrigues Mendes, told CNN the plane was chartered by a businessman who works locally in game fishing.

Mr Mendes said the passengers were friends from other parts of Brazil who were involved in the sport.

Officials said the victims’ bodies would be taken to Manaus for formal identification.

Barcelos is a popular tourist destination as it lies close to several national parks.

September is considered to be the start of the peak fishing season in Amazonas. The state is especially known for its various species of ornamental fish such as tucunaré – also known as peacock bass.

A resident from Oworonshoki and Idi Araba communities, located in the Kosofe and Mushin local government areas of Lagos State, is now mourning the loss of his pregnant wife and their newborn child after the Lagos State government, under the leadership of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, demolished their homes without offering alternative housing.

The victim said that his wife died on Friday as a result of high blood pressure following the demolition of their home and destruction of properties.

He added that since their home was demolished by the state government, his pregnant wife developed high blood pressure that never went down until her death.

SaharaReporters had reported that the state government through the Ministry of Environment and Water Resources issued the affected residents only one week’s notice to vacate their homes, after which, the residents were thrown into lamentation as their homes were crushed down by the state government who provided them with no alternative shelters.

The affected residents have been protesting to register their grievances and plight over the continued demolition of their houses, without providing them with alternative homes and livelihood.

The residents have protested and marched along the streets of the area with various cards bearing various inscriptions including “Let us breathe, stop the demolition” “Our future is being truncated, stop the demolition” “No to Land grabbing” and “Don’t get elected to get us evicted.”

The protesting residents, including the aged, pregnant women and nursing mothers whose only homes have been demolished have demanded that Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu should provide them with new houses and compensate them for destroying their properties.

DSS Detains Youth Leader Over Facebook Post ‘Injurious’ To Kaduna Accountant-General, Zuntu

A young man identified as Yusuf Yahuza Anchau, has been detained by officers of the Department of State Security (DSS), according to SaharaReporters.

He was detained over alleged “injurious comments” on the Accountant-General of Kaduna State, Bashir Suleiman Zuntu.

SaharaReporters gathered that Yusuf was arrested by the secret police four days ago following a petition by Zuntu accusing him of “cyberstalking and criminal character assassination.”

The youth leader in Kubau Local Government Area of the state had posted a document which contained names of people that were allegedly allocated lands by the accountant-general while he was chairman of the council.

Sources told SaharaReporters that Yusuf had been denied access to his family members and lawyers by the secret police since his detention.

“Our brother, Yusuf Yahuza Anchau from Kubau LGA of Kaduna State was arrested 4 days ago by DSS in Kubau LG but they later handed him to their headquarters in Kaduna.

“The reason for his arrest was that he made a post demanding accountability from Kubau LG chairman and his predecessor. Few days earlier, he posted one document of land allocation by the Former Kubau LG chairman and the current Accountant General of Kaduna, Bashir Zuntu.

“All attempt to get his bail proved to be abortive. The former chairman and current Accountant General is making the council like a military control zone whereby nobody has a right to question anything regarding the government.

“Two months ago, some youths from Pambegua town of Kubau LG were also arrested on orders of Zuntu because they posted that they didn’t support his policy of allocating GSS Pambegua land to his family and political allies.”

Another source said, “Yusuf had posted one document that contains the named of people that got land from the Accountant General when he was the chairman of Kubau LGA. Among the beneficiaries was his wife; so he ordered DSS to arrest Yusuf Yahuza.

“Last two months, the Accountant General also ordered the arrest of some youths from Pambegua just because they posted on their Facebook that they’re against his decision of encroaching on the Government Secondary School’s land. The land he distributed to his family and political allies belongs to GSS Pambegua, that’s why he’s very angry about the release of that document that contains the names of the beneficiaries.”

In Nigeria, there have been increasing cases of arrests and harassment of social media users, often on the orders of politicians.
