How My Father, Late Nigerian Pastor, TB Joshua Constantly Abused Me – Ajoke, Daughter Had Outside Wedlock

Ajoke, daughter of late Nigerian Pastor, Temitope Balogun Joshua, better known as TB Joshua has revealed that she was constantly abused and tortured by the clergyman.

She made the revelation in a documentary aired by the BBC.

In the documentary, TB Joshua’s disciples claimed that Ajoke was gotten outside lawful marriage and was subjected to a series of torture and humiliation by the late cleric who viewed her existence as a big threat to his reputation as a man of God.

Ajoke claimed that she never felt fatherly affection from the late pastor and that her father compelled her to be a disciple to ruin her life.

She said, “It was very difficult to watch this man preach every Sunday. Topics about love and about mercy. They feel very strange coming from his lips. I stared myself in the mirror lots of times, so maybe I didn’t look like him. Maybe. For as long as I can remember, I had been raised as TB Joshua’s daughter.”

“That kind of pain cannot be put into words. I feel like, you know, maybe I really don’t deserve to be alive. We are talking about years and years of abuse, consistent abuse, abuse that wasn’t ending,” she said.

She added that other disciples also joined her father to compound the humiliation.

She said, “The disciples were both brainwashed and enablers. Everybody was just acting based on commands like zombies. Nobody was questioning beyond fanatics. Where does your conscience come? How far can your conscience go without some form of accountability?”

“I knew the child, Ajoke, right from birth. She’s his actual daughter. His biological daughter from another woman outside of wedlock,” one of the disciples also gave his remark on Ajoke’s relationship with TB Joshua.

“Ajoke grew inside the Synagogue like an outcast. I think he wanted to keep her secret. I don’t think he wanted anyone to know who she was. The message about Ajoke was that she had terrible evil spirits that needed to be driven out,” another female disciple revealed.

“He hated her, and he punished her for being born. Her existence was probably the biggest threat to his reputation. What’s her fault? What has that girl done? It pains me she was still very young that time. Can you imagine how heartless we were?” the disciple added.

The allegations of abuse in a secretive Nigerian compound span almost 30 years. More than 25 former members spoke to the BBC – from the UK, Nigeria, US, South Africa, Ghana, Namibia and Germany – giving powerful corroborating testimony about their experiences within the church, spanning three decades up to 2019. The British victims were all between 15 and 21 years old when they joined the church. Multiple BBC interviewees compared their experiences to like being in a cult.

Upon his death in June 2021, TB Joshua was hailed as one of the most influential pastors in African history. Rising from poverty in Nigeria in the 1990s, he built an evangelical empire stretching across the globe, and counted among his associates dozens of political leaders, celebrities and international footballers.

The BBC said it contacted the current leadership of the Synagogue Church of All Nations with the allegations in this film. They replied: “Making unfounded allegations against Prophet TB Joshua is not a new occurrence.”

Call Military to Order to Avoid Coup – Seun Kuti Warns FG, Sanwo-Olu

Grammy-nominated afrobeat singer Seun Kuti has called on President Bola Tinubu to warn the military.
He also sent the same message to Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu.
According to him, this is to avoid a military coup d’état.
The controversial singer was reacting to the insults hauled at the Governor by some yet-to-be-identified soldiers for arresting one of their colleagues over a traffic violation.
He noted that if the excesses of the military are not contained, not only civilians would suffer from it but also politicians.
Kuti also mocked the soldiers for threatening to “humiliate” social media influencer, VeryDarkMan for applauding Sanwo-Olu’s action, saying the military only bullies civilians but runs away from terrorists.
Speaking during an Instagram live session with fans, the singer said: “I didn’t want to speak on this very matter but when I open my Instagram this morning, I saw a video of one of the unruly soldiers threatening to humiliate VeryDarkMan for making comment on Sanwo-Olu’s arrest of one of their colleagues. Imagine, in a free country.

“Sanwo-Olu and co, you people don’t understand anything. You think you [politicians] are protected from this [military] boys? Have you forgotten what military coup is? If you guys don’t do your job now, stamp down on this impunity in the armed forces, keep them to their barracks, treat their f*ckups anytime they f*ck up… If any soldier misbehave, make sure the commandant of the barrack he is attached to is removed.

“If you don’t treat them like that, do you think it is only Fela’s family they will kill? You don’t understand as the government claimed that it was unknown soldiers that killed my grandmother, Fumilayo Kuti… They killed my grandmother, threw her from the window because they were acting based on government order.

“The government protected all of them saying they were unknown soldiers. Now, they are threatening you, Governor. The table has turned from civilians now, they’re now threatening politicians too.

“Now, let me address the soldier that was threatening VeryDarkMan. I, Seun, is telling you guys that if you do anything to VDM, you guys too won’t have peace. It’s only for civilians that you can show your power, but when it comes to Boko Haram, you run away. If Boko Haram open fire, you beg Nigerians; civilians to support you in your fight against terrorists.”

The source added that Umar-Farouk might likely be released to go home and return on Tuesday for further interrogation.

“She might not likely be detained; she may be allowed to go home but it will be very late, and she has to report tomorrow (Tuesday) morning for further interrogation,” the source said.
The ongoing investigation by the EFCC revolves around a staggering N37.1 billion allegedly laundered by officials of the ministry during Umar-Farouk’s tenure as minister.

Betta Edu: Unlike Buhari, Tinubu Not Ready to Defend Corrupt Appointees – Atiku’s Aide

Daniel Bwala has reacted to the suspension of Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Betta Edu for alleged financial fraud.
Bwala, a media aide to the 2023 Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, said unlike his predecessor, ex-President Muhammadu Buhari, President Bola Tinubu is not ready to defend his appointees caught in fraudulent acts.
Posting on X, he commended Tinubu for suspending the
Leaked documents had revealed that Edu directed the Office of the Accountant-General of the Federation to pay the sum of N585.18 million into a private account owned by one Oniyelu Bridget.
The ministry claimed Bridget currently serves as the Project Accountant, Grants for Vulnerable Groups in Akwa Ibom, Cross River, Lagos and Ogun states.
But the Accountant-General of the Federation, Dr. Oluwatoyin Madein, rejected Edu’s directive and refused to pay the said sum of N585.18 million.
Following the outrage that occasioned the scandal, Tinubu suspended the minister, while ordering the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, to thoroughly investigate her.
Reacting to Edu’s suspension, Bwala posted on X: “Again @officialABAT is showing that when there is a credible substance in an allegation he will act in public interest. He has suspended the beauty pageant minister. Give it to him.

“What has clearly distinguished @officialABAT from his predecessor @MBuhari is that President Tinubu does not look like one prepared to defend appointee caught with his/her hands in the cookie’s jar ( at least for now)

“But if anyone thinks this alleged corruption only exists in the Humanitarian Ministry, that person is clearly a comedian.

“There appears to be a determination cooked with a sense of urgency by some corrupt appointees to pounce on our commonwealth like a bulldog that has found the last borne on the planet earth. This is a national security threat.”

“So, how do you expect a 27-year-old millionaire, who has experienced life to make another album like ‘LTG’ again? Think about it. How? Even the album [‘LTG’] it’s not every time you going to be in the mood to listen to it. Sometimes, it maybe ‘Apollo’, or ‘Playboy.’ I think people need to understand that artists are human beings too and they need to grow.”
