Popular Nigerian singer/songwriter, Simi has opened up about how she feels about the X platform and why she responds the way she does.
She made this known on the Zero Conditions Podcast where she discussed her music career.
Simi addressed questions about her reputation for witty, sometimes harsh responses on Twitter.
She explained that she never intended to be “savage,” saying, “I feel like I still am sometimes; maybe it’s because I’m not on Twitter as much as I used to be. I don’t see it as being ‘savage’ because my goal is not to be savage.”.
The singer emphasized that her online personality reflects her real-life demeanor. “That’s how I am in real life, though; I’d say I’m very quick with it. If someone says sorry, I would say sorry for yourself; I’m a joker as well,” Simi shared.
However, Simi noted a shift in her social media engagement, particularly on Twitter. She explained, “Twitter isn’t the way it used to be; it used to be better. I don’t think it’s because people are now awake, though. I feel like Twitter has become a competition for who can be the most toxic or the loudest person and I don’t have fun with it like I used to. Now I hardly go on it.”
Grammy-winning Nigerian singer, Damini Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy, has achieved another feat in his career as he becomes the first African artiste to hit the two billion streams mark in the United Kingdom.
The singer was presented with a Brit plaque at his sold-out show at Koko Camden in London on Monday night, in recognition of the feat.
This comes barely few weeks after he was presented with a Brit 1 billion streams plaque at his sold-out show at the London Stadium last month.
Receiving his Brit 2 billion streams plaque, Burna Boy revealed that he fought for it.
He said, “Thank you very much. I appreciate you. Ehen, now that’s it. You’ve to fight for your right.”
One of the presenters inferred: “You already have it. You don’t need to fight.”
Burna Boy rebuffed: “No. You know, we have to fight for our rights.”
Popular Nigerian influencer, Enioluwa has spoken about how to prevent being cheated in the country.
Taking to the microblogging platform X, he said that he hates that one must have a slight madness in Nigeria like there is no other choice.
According to him, it is quite heartbreaking that a person has to be a little mad to avoid being cheated.
He wrote: “I hate that in Nigeria, you must have slight madness like you don’t have a choice; you must be a little mad. If not, they will cheat you, ride you and think it’s okay. dont worry, e je ka ma se were lo.”

Popular Nigerian singer, Portable has expressed displeasure over the poor state of the road in Ogun State.
This is coming after the singer’s Rangerover fell into a ditch, days after he returned from the United States.
Portable shared videos on social media showing the bad roads in his hometown. He strongly criticized Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun for not fixing these roads, calling them “death traps.”
The singer said that under Governor Abiodun’s leadership, his hometown has gotten worse. He then called for Senator Olamilekan Yayi to run for governor, saying that only the areas under the senator’s care have good governance in the state.
Portable, known for being outspoken, used this incident to draw attention to what he sees as a serious problem in Ogun State. His comments highlight concerns about infrastructure and local governance in the area.
Popular Nigerian singer, Victony, has opened up on how he realised that his girlfriend was cheating on him.
The singer, in an interview on the ‘Is This Seat Taken?’ podcast hosted by Nollywood actress, Chinasa Anukam, recalled how finding out the truth about his ex-girlfriend’s relationship with another man left him feeling stupid.
Victony explained that his ex-girlfriend had lied to him, with claims that the man was just a friend, but it turned out that she was cheating on him with the man.
The singer said, “She [my ex-girlfriend] was talking to this other guy and I was aware. She was telling me about this other guy. Me, very open-minded, I was like, this guy was just her friend.
“She told me he was her friend but his name just always came up. And I will be like, what kind of friend is this one?
“At the end of the day, it turned out he was not her friend. That was very mad because when I realised everything that was going on, I felt very stupid.”
