Nigerian Rights Activist, Bisi Alimi Drags BBNaija Star, Pere Egbi For Saying Being LGBTQ Is A Sin (Video)

Nigerian LGBTQ+ rights activist Bisi Alimi has criticized Pere Egbi, following the reality TV star’s recent remarks suggesting that being part of the LGBTQ+ community is a sin.

Pere stated this on X while reacting to a post made by a US-based pastor who argued that being LGBTQ is not a sin and that the bible never said it was a sin.

The cleric argued that one cannot repent from a sexu@l orientation because no one choose their sexu@l orientation.

Pere in his response said being queer is a sin like every other sin in the bible. He argued that God never created a man for another man nor a woman for another woman.

Bisi felt Pere’s submission was out of line and took to his IG page this afternoon to slam him. He asked Pere to stop exhibiting his “stup!dity”in public.

According to him, God didn’t see Homosexu@lity as a sin if not, he would have put it in the ten commandments.

How Ebuka Obi-Uchendu Reacted After Being Given Hotel Room With Number “419” Italy (Photo)

Ebuka Obi-Uchendu has playfully threatened to “sue” after being assigned a hotel room numbered 419 during his luxury getaway in Lake Como.

The media personality, who is currently vacationing with his wife, Cynthia Obianodo, shared a photo of the hotel room door on social media, drawing attention to the now-viral room number.

In his trademark humorous fashion, Ebuka captioned the post: “Who am I suing for giving us this room?” — a joke that instantly resonated with many Nigerians.

In Nigerian parlance, “419” is widely understood to mean fraud. The term originates from Section 419 of the Criminal Code Act, which addresses obtaining property by false pretence.

Over time, it has become synonymous with scams, particularly advance-fee fraud schemes. So, being allocated a room with that number was more than enough to spark Ebuka’s playful “legal threat.”

Fans quickly flooded his comment section with laughing emojis and witty remarks, with many agreeing that the hotel management had some explaining to do. Others simply admired the couple’s romantic escape, as they continue to serve vacation goals from the picturesque Italian destination known for its stunning scenery and serene ambiance.

Afrobeats Currently Going Through Purge, Returning To Real Music – Nigerian Singer, Joeboy

Popular Nigerian singer Joeboy has stated that Afrobeats is currently experiencing a renaissance, stressing that the genre is being cleansed of watered-down music.

Speaking midway into his performance at his sold-out Valentine’s Day show in Lagos, the ‘Faji’ crooner explained that Afrobeats was returning to “real music.”

He added that “wack music no longer have a place in the genre.

“Afrobeats right now is going through a purge. We are getting back to the times where real music is going to stay – no more gimmicking and all of that.

“I can feel it already and I am happy that we are getting back to those zones where the music speaks. I thank God for that,” he expressed.

Recall that at the beginning of the 2020s decade, the Nigerian music industry saw a heavy fusion of Afrobeats with other genres, especially South Africa’s Amapiano, American hip-hop and R&B.

This led to critics calling for a return to “original Afrobeats”, claiming that the fusion of foreign genres, often intended to cater for a global audience, has diluted Afrobeats.

The situation started changing in 2024 when some Nigerians artists began making “real Afrobeats” again and stopped infusing too much of Amapiano in their sounds.

Many Nigerian music buffs have hailed this as a move in the right direction, even though they admitted that it would take some time for Afrobeats to fully recover its original rhythm.

I Was Circumcised When I Was 6 Years Old – Nollywood Actress, Biodun Stephen Reveals

Award-winning Nigerian filmmaker Biodun Stephen has opened up about her personal experience with female circumcision.

The producer spoke during an interview on the Diary Of A Naija Girl Podcast.

She explained that her circumcision happened when she was six years old and involved her grandmother. The filmmaker described the process as part of her family’s cultural practice.

She recalled being taken outside under her grandmother’s supervision to a place where the procedure would take place. At first, she was allowed to play and eat, which made her feel comfortable and unaware of what was coming.

Stephen said the next step involved a shower and then lying down, after which she experienced intense pain that stayed with her memory.

According to her, there was no explanation given at the time about what was happening. When she returned home, her mother offered some comfort, rubbing her body and apologising, but no detailed discussion followed.

Stephen emphasised that the memory of the pain remains vivid even years later. She also reflected on how the practice was passed down through generations, rooted in tradition, and often carried out without informing children of its purpose.

She said, “In my own case, it was my grandma. My grandma, God bless her soul. Mine was, anyway, I don’t want to talk about it. So I think that also my mom was. So it’s a culture for them. Because I remember I was six when I went for circumcision. Yes, I was six years old. So I remember it vividly. Deep pain. Vividly. As I’m talking to you, I’m seeing the picture. That afternoon. It was a mat outside. They took me to the woman’s place.

“You know, I was six. I didn’t know what was going on. My grandma just said, I mean, I love my grandma. She’s like, let’s go somewhere. So we went to this somewhere. They allowed me to play. They allowed me to play. I even ate food. Made me feel comfortable. Then the next, my grandma said, come on, let’s go have a shower. You know, I was six. I remember this. And the next day they told me to lie down.

“The pain was searing to the brain. Yes. I didn’t know what happened to me. There was no conversation about it. My mother wasn’t, you know, when I got home, they gave me pain sick. She rubbed my body like sorry my baby. And that was it.”
