Femi Falana, a senior advocate of Nigeria (SAN), has talked about the anticipated elections.
He said there’s no guarantee that Nigeria is prepared for the general election.
Falana stated this while appearing on Arise TV programme on Tuesday.
The scarcity of naira notes following the redesign of he N200, N500, and N1000 notes, coupled with the scarcity of petrol, has led to protests in some parts of the country.
There also concerns whether the presidential and governorship elections on February 25 and March 11, will go on as scheduled.
However, Falana says, “by now, Nigerians should be fully prepared for the election.
“But unfortunately, there is no indication, and people are still saying will the election hold or not.
“Even the armed forces and the NSA spoke about the effect of cash scarcity on counter-insurgency campaigns.
“And for the masses, it is only when you have access to your money that you can be happy and ready for the election,” He maintained.

Shehu Sani, a former Nigerian lawmaker, has warned Nigerians ahead of the forthcoming general elections.
He warned that electing a wrong leader would plunge the country into another four years of darkness.
Sani also called on Nigerians to be guided by their conscience and experience and elect a competent leader.
His statement was contained in a post via his verified Twitter handle on Tuesday.
Sani, also a social critic, urged Nigerians not to allow religious leaders to mislead them.
“On Saturday, this country has a date with history. Don’t vote for a candidate because your mosques or churches asked you to do so. Be guided by your conscience and experience & elect a competent leader. A wrong choice is another 4 years of journey into darkness,” he tweeted.

Nigerians and the international community have been assured of free, fair and credible elections by the Independent National Electoral Commission.
INEC Chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, gave the reassurance when he received Commonwealth Election Observer Mission to Nigeria, led by former South Africa President, Thabo Mbeki, at INEC headquarters in Abuja on Monday.
”INEC understands the enormous benefits of conducting credible elections, not just in Nigeria but the African continent.
“Election in Nigeria is huge and we understand. As I said, the responsibility rests on our shoulders.
“We also understand the benefits of credible elections. It will not only bring peace and good governance to our country but the positive effects on our sub-region.
“I want to assure you that we will never let Nigeria and the international community down,’’ Yakubu said.
Yakubu also commended the Commonwealth Observer Mission’s contributions to the development of Nigeria’s electoral system.
He said that Nigeria had benefited a lot from the Commonwealth through the implementation of recommendations in its reports on Nigeria’s previous elections.
“We have benefited from your previous election observation reports. So many of the innovations introduced over time are benefited from your observation reports.
“We don’t take your observations lightly.,” he said.
He said that INEC looked forward again to the mission’s robust reports on the 2023 general elections.
Earlier in his remarks, Mbeki said the mission was in Nigeria to observe the country’s election and in the end make it report.
Mbeki expressed confidence that Nigeria would achieve credible and successful elections.
“This is the seventh election since independence. Nigeria is a very important country with huge impacts on itself and on the continent.
“So, it is always very important that as commonwealth we should come and be with you as you hold these important elections and to observe same.
“Of course, we come very hopeful and very confident that we will have successful elections, peaceful elections and intrusive elections and at the end hopefully there will be no complaints,” Mbeki said.
He said the mission was at the INEC headquarters to listen to the level of preparations and render assistance for the commission to achieve its mandate.

Nigerian rapper Falz has shared a piece of advice to the youth while naming his preferred candidate as the elections approach.
The rapper has advised the youth on procrastination and making excuses for not casting their votes adding that it is time to decide their fate.
Falz in an online video advised young people to ignore any message of discouragement from anyone from voting but instead focus on the goal of determining who rules. He also endorsed Peter Obi‘s Labour Party describing the party as a “formidable third force”.
He said;
Oya election don come oooo this is my PVC, I’m sure you have yours and you are ready to vote. I don’t want to hear any of that rubbish that my vote will not count, so what’s the point of voting?
Oh God, please nobody should annoy me, this is 2023, with everything we’re going through, if there are still some people saying that, then really and truly I don’t know what is wrong with them.
Somehow, we have been able to gather momentum, unbelievable momentum for this formidable 3rd force. I say to you it is very possible, forget about all those pessimists, all those cynics that are coming to you, all those irresponsible people that apparently love to suffer and want to keep this status quo forget about those people and just focus on the goal.
The goal is that we the people this time around, have decided that we are going to choose who rules us.
