Insecurity: President Tinubu Suspends Trip To G20, AU-EU Summit

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has postponed his planned trips to Johannesburg, South Africa, and Luanda, Angola, pending further security briefings on the kidnapped Kebbi schoolgirls and the attack on Christ Apostolic Church worshippers in Eruku, Kwara State.

This was contained in a statement released by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, on Wednesday in Abuja.

The statement said Tinubu has ordered the deployment of more security operatives to Eruku and the entire Ekiti Local Government Area of the state, and directed the police to go after the bandits who attacked worshippers.

President Tinubu was scheduled to leave Abuja on Wednesday to attend the 20th G20 Summit of leaders in South Africa and thereafter proceed to Luanda to attend the 7th AU-EU Summit.

“Disturbed by the security breaches in Kebbi State and Monday’s attack by bandits against worshippers at Christ Apostolic Church, Eruku, President Tinubu decided to suspend his departure.

“He now awaits reports from Vice President Kashim Shettima, who paid a sympathetic visit to Kebbi on his behalf, as well as reports from the police and the Department of State Services regarding the attack in Kwara,” the statement said.

According to the statement, the President reiterated his directive to the security agencies to do everything possible to rescue the 24 schoolgirls abducted by the bandits and bring the girls back home safe.

I’m Not New To Their Lies, This Is Tinubu’s Supporter – Mr Macaroni Reacts To R*pe Accusation

Nigerian skitmaker and Nollywood actor Debo Adedayo, popularly known as Mr Macaroni, has expressed outrage at a social media user over a r*pe accusation.

An 𝕏 user had accused Macaroni of r*ping a 17-year-old girl and used the police to oppress the victim’s family.

The statement reads, “This guy actually r*ped 17 year old girl and used police to oppress her family. Now he’s an activist?”

In response, Mr Macaroni pointed out that the allegation is from a supporter of President Bola Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC), stressing that he is not new to their lies.

He wrote, “Normally I shouldn’t respond to a tweet like this because i would just be giving it more Visibility. But because of the nature of the horrendous and distasteful accusation, I have to. This is a Tinubu and APC supporter.

“I am not new to their lies and attacks anytime I criticize their evil government! But this isn’t just any other attack, this is a false accusation of r*pe which any sane human being should never use as propaganda simply because I am holding our government accountable as every good citizen of this country should.

“But again, this is an APC supporter. I do not naturally expect any form of sanity or dignity from him or her. However if we don’t take actions against deranged individuals like this one, they will continue to infest society with their disease and project onto others who they really are.

“I checked their profile and saw that this is what they have been doing. Praising the President and government, then attacking anyone who dares criticise them. I would appreciate any information about this individual that can help us take necessary action against this raving lunatic.

“This tweet also serves as an opportunity to strongly refute this ridiculous accusation and any other kind from the infested supporters of the APC because I expect their disease to continue to spread as I won’t stop criticizing this abomination of a government!!!”

Wizkid Is My Senior In Music Industry – Olamide Clarifies

Famous Nigerian music star Olamide Baddo, has stated that his colleague Wizkid, 35, has been in the music industry longer than he has.

The duo gained prominence in 2010 with Wizkid gaining popularity with ‘Holla AT Your Boy’ released in January, and Olamide hitting the reckoning with ‘Eni Duro’ a few months later.

They were also both nominated in the Next Rated category at the 2011 Headies Awards, which Wizkid won.

Consequently, the popular notion has been that they are industry mates.

However, in a recent interview with streamer Azeeez, Olamide clarified that Wizkid is older than him in the music industry with about two years.

“Wizkid and I didn’t start doing music at the same time. He started a year or two before me, he was already putting out music before I came,”
Olamide stated.

It would be recalled that Wizkid was earlier featured in ace rapper M.I’s hit single ‘Fast Money/Fast Cars’ in 2008, about two years before he became famous.

We Can’t Dispute Trump Calling Nigeria A Disgraced Country – Peter Obi

The Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has criticised President Bola Tinubu’s administration over the worsening insecurity in the country.

In a long post on X, Obi stated that no one can dispute US president Donald Trump calling Nigeria “a disgraced country”.

He was reacting to the recent terror attack on a Christ Apostolic Church, CAC, in Kwara state.

According to Obi, Tinubu is more interesting in breaking up the opposition than strengthening the nation’s democracy.

Obi wrote: “A few weeks ago, when President Trump described our country as “now disgraced,” many were outraged. Yet, how can we dispute it when, within a single week, 25 people were kidnapped, and one of our generals along with other officers was killed?

“Today, we witness another troubling terror attack in Kwara State. Rather than uniting in this critical moment, we are consumed by internal wrangling, party squabbles, and distractions.

“Look closely at what is happening in the PDP, the Labour Party, SDP, and other political formations—crises deliberately orchestrated by a government that should be embracing everyone so we can unite in this troubling period.

“I am reminded of a pivotal moment under President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua. During an internal crisis in my then-political party, he instructed the INEC Chairman, Professor Maurice Iwu, that the stability of every political party—not just the ruling party—was essential for democracy. No party was to be undermined; all were to function within the law.

“What we witness today is the opposite. The current government seems more intent on weakening parties than strengthening our democracy—seeking to fragment the PDP, Labour Party, SDP, and others.

“In democratic nations, opposition is respected, elections reflect the will of the people, and governance involves carrying everyone along for peace and prosperity.”
