I’ve Always Wanted To Be A Musician – BBNaija Star, Liquorose Reveals

Roseline Omokhoa Afije, a former Big Brother Naija Housemate, who is popularly known as Liquorose, has disclosed that she had always wanted to be a musician.

The Nigerian dancer cum reality TV star, in an interview with media personality, VJ Adams, said she was very ‘hungry’ to make music and was taking steps towards becoming a musician before going into the BBNaija show.

She said, “I won’t lie, I love music too much. I’ve always wanted to be a musician. Yeah, I’ve been recording. There was a time when I was always in the studio before I went for BBNaija show. I was very hungry with music.”

Liquorose further stated that while she currently feels comfortable about acting, she still has a strong desire for music.

She added, “I know that feeling because I’m a poet and I write. If the music isn’t sounding like that, I know I could do better. And I work with writers as well now and stuff. I wanted to ignore music because I’m like I love acting.

“Acting is like my safest place right now. I’m comfortable, I can act till like I’m 80 or 70 years old. But the urge to make music remains strong. But you see music, there’s a side of me that people have not seen. And it’s my music side.

“And one thing I need people to know is that the sound won’t just be for you to dance. It’s going to touch you. I can do dancehall, I can rap if I want to, because I write poems. I can’t sing like Beyoncé, but I can hold my own.”

Media Personality, Ebuka Raises Questions On How Men And Women Build Friendships (Video)

A video clip from MENtality, the podcast hosted by Ebuka Obi-Uchendu, has sparked lively discussions online after he made a playful yet insightful comment about how men maintain their friendships.

Ebuka recounted a comment from a female friend who noted that men often keep the same friends for years not necessarily out of deep emotional attachment but because they hardly stress one another.

According to her, male friendships run on easy banter, football talk, and the occasional birthday message rather than intense emotional exchanges.

She contrasted this with how quickly women form tight bonds sharing heartbreak stories, praying together, and offering emotional support only for these friendships to sometimes collapse unexpectedly over minor issues such as a missed call or forgotten birthday.

This contrast raised a central question on the show. Do men stay friends because the bond is not deeply emotional enough to create conflict, or are their relationships simply quieter yet equally strong?

The clip has since made the rounds on social media, where users debated whether men avoid vulnerability or whether their friendships simply operate on a different emotional wavelength.

Government Could Not Rescue Kebbi Schoolgirls, They Negotiated With Us – Bandits Boasts In New Video

A newly released video has suggested that the Nigerian government and the bandits who kidnapped the Kebbi schoolgirls reached a negotiated agreement prior to the girls’ release.

Earlier, 626Blaze reported that some  kidnapped students of Government Girls Secondary School, Maga, Kebbi State, were released on Tuesday with the government claiming that no ransom was paid before their release.

But a video has surfaced online revealing that the government had negotiated with the abductors before the girls were set free.

In the clip shared by @AM_Saleeem on X, one of the armed men is heard questioning the schoolgirls about military aircraft that flew over the forest during their captivity.

He asks how many jets passed above them, and the girls respond, “uncountable.”

The kidnapper then boasts that the authorities could not rescue the students by force and had to negotiate. The abductors also asked the girls about their condition in captivity.

“Did we leave you hungry?” one bandit asked.

“No,” the girls replied.

“Were you assaulted in any way?” he asked again.

“No,” they answered.

Another kidnapper told them, “We will take you back home safe to your parents, we are doing this based on peace deals.”

He also mocked the government again, asking, “How many helicopters did you see hover around?” The students replied that they could not count them.

At the end of the video, one of the abductors declared, “We are letting you go after negotiations. Your government cannot rescue you with might. Your government has failed.”

The footage appeared shortly after Kebbi State governor, Nasir Idris and the Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle, announced that all abducted students had been freed.

The girls, who were kidnapped after armed men stormed their school and killed the vice-principal, were later seen smiling inside a bus as officials prepared to transport them to Birnin Kebbi, the state capital.

Authorities have said the students will be handed over to their parents today (Wednesday).
